  1. Love the burger! It's almost big enough! Here's what I like to do; Basically you can make yer burger out of what ever you like, as long as it's RED MEAT and not some kind of poultry or non meat substance... that's a given. Combine your usual ingredients, to your taste, but before you start to make the patties, try this; -take a teaspoon of garlic butter, flatten it thin, like a loonie. -put it in the freezer for an hour to firm it up -make your patty, what ever size you like and insert the frozen garlic butter into the centre of the patty. -start grillin! -burger is done when you see butter coming out of the meat! -EAT and enjoy!! HH PS... this is the low fat method... for the full effects of the "standard burger" increase the butter!LOL
  2. Looks like yer ready to go... the only things I might add are "double padded head gear and some shoulder pads" HH
  3. Thanks guys... I'm using the Offshore boards with the locking clip, OR18 I believe and had assumed that all was right with the world! Gonna take a closer look next time... Spoonmaster, I'm wondering if your right when you suggested that the clips for the large boards might be the culprit. I know when I hook my in-lines to the line, I make every effort possible to maintain a straight line from the clips to the bait, if that makes any sense... I actually put the line in the back clip on something of an 45 degree angle to keep the line as straight out the board as possible. Maybe that has helped me not have break off issues? HH
  4. Yup... I think we have all had this crappy disease affect us... know that we are thinking of you and your family and be strong for all! HH
  5. Thanks Silver! Have you at all experienced a break off as a result of clipping directly to the Core? I'll do a check of my line next time out and take a real close look at this. I always thought that the clips on the board are well padded to prevent such things, but if others have experienced this issue, than I appreciate the heads up. Comments folks? HH
  6. Well, with all due respect to our honoured members who disagree, I will 2nd and 3rd the electric knife for cleaning Pickereyes... fast, effective and really easy! Once you know what your doing, it's unbelievably quick! For smaller fish, ie perch and crappies... a small bladed Rapala is the way to go! HH
  7. G. ... I suspect that with the new home, your mortgage will increase? If so, it has been my experience that lenders want that loan in their portfolio as well, so I would tell my current financial institution that if they charge me any fees to discharge the current agreement, I will take all of my business to another institution! As a matter of fact, I would personally visit at least two or three companies and find out what they would be willing to do for you, get it in writing ... you may find that they will actually absorb any fees your current mortgage will charge, just to get your business When I went through this last year, I simply pointed to the two banks across the street and told them I can easily get what I want for their competitors... I paid NO FEES at all for my new mortgage or for discharging the old mortgage on my old house. The bank took care of all of their internal costs. Ask and you shall receive... wait and get nothing! As far as getting a Home Inspection... well, I know a guy who can do that himself! The banks don't care about home inspections... not required or even interested... but they sure do want TITLE INSURANCE... that's where you would spend the money you may have set aside for a house inspection. Dude call me if you have any other questions! HH
  8. "Just a couple of hours on a Saturday Bernie!" Let's get 'er done! HH
  9. I run 30lb mono as my backing, super gluing the mono to the core. Usual around 100yds as I like to use this set up for salmon. I'm some what confused by the remarks about clipping a board onto the lead core... been doing it for years and have not had any break offs etc... Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks, HH
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Roger is the best! He's a wonderful ambassador for the store! Heck, how can you not think that way with that smile he has? I've been very fortunate to have been in the store when Rogers is working... now that's customer service! HH
  11. I grew up using that Rapala technique on the Thames river for smallies! I've also found it to be a great technique for Largies as well! Thanks for the memories! HH
  12. Nice report guys! BillM, you couldn't have picked a better OFNer to break the ice with! (pun intended!) I will admit I am a little surprised that Wayne let you use that Bomber! It was my understanding that Terry had dibs on Bombers in Wayne's boat! HH
  13. Well, I'm sure that I'll catch some heat for this, but my Okuma Convector reels are by far the worst experince I've ever had with a reel! HH
  14. Glad yah got out guys! Too bad the weather man didn't cooperate as much as he could but it still looked like a great time! HH
  15. Nice big wild river hogs guys! WTG! My roses are envious! HH
  16. Great report! That looked like a ton o fun! Thanks for posting and especially for "blueing out the background" on those shots so no one else can find that spot! LOL HH
  17. I had no problem in Spain, France, Great Briton or Switzerland using my BNS bank card... and I later found out that my wife had no problem using her Visa card in any of the above mentioned country's! HH
  18. I gotta admit that I'm with "the plumma's" on this one... but I guess to each their own! I do have to wonder though, much like many here, how they will look after time has taken there toll on the "canvas". TO be honest, as I get older, I'm find the orafice's that I can equipped with can cause me issues, having a complete stranger add a few thousand more... I don't need to go there! It is pretty rare for me to see one that doesn't make me cringe, but as I said above, to each their own... just make sure before you do it, your not gonna want to change your mind! I wonder how much longer this fad amoung the majority will revert back to the minority? HH
  19. It appeared to me anyway, that Montreal was suffering from the same illness that apparently had taken over the good folks in Ottawa... NO FLIPPIN HEART! Man, I can't get over how playoff teams can come across as being so un-interested. They seemed to be going through the motions... I wonder if Canadian hockey teams have been given a deal at their local golf course because they sure look like their gettin ready to shine up the clubs! HH
  20. A very wise man from this board made a very valid suggestion to me last year when we were in the throws of moving... douG suggest that I DON"T load up my garage with stuff when unloading the moving truck... but did I listen... apparently not! You should see me garage to this day! Sorry for your grief with the financial institutions, I hope you unpacking goes well and you get out on the water soon! HH
  21. If your anything like me, playin golf won't help with the smokin thing! LOL I smoke more golfing, than pretty much any other time! Add the power cart into the mix and well... you get the idea! Thanks for the bay pic! HH
  22. Just took a look at the reviews online for this reel... I think it would make a fairly decent ice fishin reel for whities or lakers! Heck, for $40 bucks, about the same as a case of beer, I don't think you can go wrong! HH
  23. Simply put AWESOME! I gotta try that some day! Those fish sure do look healthy and strong... musta been a riot! HH
