Re marking fish and not catchin... do you know what your marking? Are you sure your marking eyes? If yer marking and not catchin, your either not deep enough, or too deep. HH

I have the Rouge valley in my backyard, actually, it is my backyard! I haven't seen a turkey yet, but I do have many deer, chipmunks, rabbits and hawks... and I hear that cougars frequent the Black Dog on Thursday nights! LOL HH

I would agree with Dan, launching at the ferry would save time and aggravation, should the winds pick up, however, depending on wind direction, that launch can be dicey as well. Having not ever stayed at Perfect Vue, I can't really answer specifically "What we are paying for"?. However, I can be pretty sure that we will not be paying for a dangerous launch, ice covered docks, arguments over who's in who's dock space, a complete disregard for your guests attitude, coming from ownership, mouse crap in the cutlery drawer, a cottage resembling swiss cheese... shall I go on?! Myself, the object of this mission is to fish! The cottage only needs to be warm and clean. I don't expect to be spending much time in it and I believe that most who are disgruntled with Merlands are not necessarily disappointed in the accommodations, just the lack of interest the ownership seems to have towards their guests. We will find out shortly, if Perfect view can rise above the low bar Merlands have established. HH

For those interested in Smith guitars, there are a number of them available on Craig's list and Kjiji. A fantastic way to get a top notch instrument at a pretty good price. HH

Doug, if memory serves me right, Carlos is a predominately Yamaha player. And yah, that Smith is really nice! HH

Wow Roy, that is a beauty!!!!! I don't have to tell you how much that sweetie is worth today... but I wouldn't be surprised if it is equal to a pretty nice new car!!! Current Gretsch Hollowbodies/ Country Gentleman are selling new for around 2-3K. An immaculate 61 like the one pictured in your link is a nice tidy down payment on a house!!!! I can only imagine what sweet sound emanate from that beauty! "any bass players?" Hey Billy, I bet you and your sound man have had words!!!! Running two Marshall stacks is stadium level sound and it takes a really good sound man to balance that level of volume coming off the stage, for a proper front of the house mix. Your bass player must be running three to four Ampeg "fridges" to compete with that rig! Also, with the multi-affect pedals, I have to assume that you ran that through those Marshalls as well or were you comparing the sound through a different amp? Personally, I find the all in one systems to be much quieter than individual pedals and you also don't have to be concerned with bad patch cables and such. Oh well to each their own! HH ps... Doug, you can put a piezo in that beauty and listen to her squeal!!!

Truly a sad day for all Canadian Rockers! They were a must see band live, especially in a small bar setting, which I was fortunate enough to have seen numerous times. "Frantic City" is a Canadian Classic as far as I'm concerned. As a matter of fact, I had just pulled it out this past weekend and as always, enjoyed the raw energy that they exude. Well, I guess it is a "Nice day for a party, isn't it!" RIP Franky... show how to RnR where ever you are!!!! HH

Do vote NDP if your desire is to be unemployed! Jack's mandated his party to stop tax cuts to big business, lower individual taxes (yah right) and put the burden of taxation onto business. Uhmm.. Jack, who do you think employs all the workers? Jack is a recipe for pain here in this country... BTW - had you read the Green Party's platform, you would know that they are fiscally CONSERVATIVE. Their plan, in a nut shell is to move the tax burden from the individual, at payroll source, to a carbon based tax, so more of a pay as you go situation than everybody pays, that we live with now. HH

Cliff, I heard that many times before... don't vote, no right to complain... but this is what I believe... if you pay yer taxes, you have all the rights you need to complain. Agreed Bowslayer... on the up side, the drop in the Canadian dollar should have some executives re-thinking their moves out of Canada, as the lower dollar will help to increase profit margins... I HOPE!!!!!! HH
