HOW TO CLEAN A PERCH IN 10 SECONDS!!!
Headhunter replied to John Kimble's topic in General Discussion
I do it the same way Brian does, except when skinning, I move the skin under the knife, not the knife. HH -
Glad the eye surgury went well to Will! Ice soon my friend, ice soon! HH

Thanks for sharing your experience... on what body of water would we be avoiding this outfitter on? HH

I'll call you today or tomorrow Will! Hope it went well. I got a messge from Will earlier this week, giving the the what for, for not inviting him up to Simcoe over Xmas... Then he realized that if he had a problem on the ice he would; a) be relying on us to get him back to shore for help, then he came to his senses, realizing that if the fish were biting, he may end up a cooked goose!!!!! Being a long standing member of this board, FnS would understand that the bite is on, well, the bite is on!!!! there wouldn't be any room for his carcass with the power auger on the sled! c) he's a little too big for perch bait! Just ribbin yah bud! Talk soon! HH

Scottys are great, Cabela's brand are virtually the same and cheaper. HH

It seems to me that one major problem we have is that min. code is just that minimum, and we should be considering a couple of things... 1) Raising the standards of min. code 2) Raising the standards and or numbers of inspectors 3) Seeing consumers recieve huge payouts from builders and governments as a result of court action. If a house is certified by a goverment payed employee and it is not to code, then I think the government should and does have an obligation to pay. I also think the inspectors should have more accountabilty and I think an earlier post mentioned promoting experienced tradesman into the positions is an excellent idea. HH

Thanks for the report Joey! Sunday looked like a prefect day to get out, alas, it was not in the cards for me! I still can't beleive Paul caught a fish though! LMAO! Re the cat... one of the funniest things I recall about my cat was the time I came home from Cooks Bay with a bucket of perch. The fish as the bottom of the bucket were frozen solid and as I was cleaning them, they began to thaw out. Well, my cat came down stairs to see what all that smell was about, climbed up the side of the bucket, just in time for one of the frozen fish, to start flopping in the bucket. I swear that cat jumped 4 feet straight into the air! Heck, I'm still laughing about that one! HH

Glad you were able to grab one Emil! I did just what you suggested... I had the clerk look at all the stores within my area and they showed none in stock. I wasn't about to ask him to check within 60 miles of my location as that would have meant spending the $20.00 I was saving on the sled, on gas! HH

How to determine the smoothness of an ceterpin reel?

Yah Kirk, I have a 6 foot Bogan for my kids, but it simply won't stand up to anything that is not flat for it to ride on. It flexes too much and I end up picking my stuff up all the time. It seems like I am not the only one to have challenges here... I'm in good company! Let's see how long it takes to get a call from the store to tell me it has come in. According to the Customer Service person I was talking to, the computer indicates whether or not a product can be rain checked and ordered. Again, the customer service person told me it would not be a problem to order it and I should get a call by the end of January.... I'll update this thread when I hear! HH

Well, I noticed that the annual CTC icefishing sale was happening again! For the last four years, I have been trying to buy the ice fishing "sled" from CTC and for four years I have been stymied! Now, I know that we are not talking about a lot of money, reg. price is $40.00 and it's on sale this week for $20.00. So I toddled off to my local CTC, rounded up one of the young fellas who work there and asked where I could find the ice fishing sled they have on sale. He tells me they don't have it. I asked if he ever had any, he says no, but he could check the computer for me to see if any other stores "near by" had it... no, none in stock! Now I have gone to customer service and obtained a rain check (20 minute wait at customer service) and they tell me it will be ordered and available to me by the end of January! Let's hope that this is the end of my 4 year quest for a new ice fishing sled. Why advertise a product that obviously they had no intention of stocking. I wonder how many each store got and I wonder how many out-fitters bought up every one at the store!? There, I almost feel better now! LOL HH

Solo, I see your point. I don't agree 100%, but I find that I don't agree 100% with most people, most of the time. HH -

Thanks folks, much appreciated! Wayne, I will not be paying for a blanket in "Hallebuttocks" this time around! Not doing it for a living (LMAO), just for the fun of it and to get out of the house from time to time... HH
