  3. It's pretty simple really, you verify employment dates and THAT'S IT! Should the ex employee get word that you have given him or her a bad reference, you are potentially liable and could find yourself facing court action. A good many of my clients will only verify employment dates... they, as a matter of company policy are not going to give you anything else. References in reality are pretty much just names and contact info in an employment file. No one ever gives the names of folks who are going to give a bad reference. Buyer beware is a good policy to to follow here! HH
  4. I wasn't aware the Stompin Tom had a vid out... hmmm, gonna have to take a look! Thanks NoFrills! HH

  7. I have a number of collectable vinyl things as well CLiff, including the red Hemispheres disk and an autographed copy of Blizzard of Ozz, by the man himself. As far as concert stuff is concerned, the only one I have is Collective Soul live with the Atlanta Youth Synphony Orchstra.... and I like it! HH
  8. Well, that makes me feel better Cliff! LOL Funny though, I did not see any lemons in any of the pics! HH

  20. I'll call you today or tomorrow Will! Hope it went well. I got a messge from Will earlier this week, giving the the what for, for not inviting him up to Simcoe over Xmas... Then he realized that if he had a problem on the ice he would; a) be relying on us to get him back to shore for help, then he came to his senses, realizing that if the fish were biting, he may end up a cooked goose!!!!! Being a long standing member of this board, FnS would understand that the bite is on, well, the bite is on!!!! there wouldn't be any room for his carcass with the power auger on the sled! c) he's a little too big for perch bait! Just ribbin yah bud! Talk soon! HH
  21. Scottys are great, Cabela's brand are virtually the same and cheaper. HH
  22. It seems to me that one major problem we have is that min. code is just that minimum, and we should be considering a couple of things... 1) Raising the standards of min. code 2) Raising the standards and or numbers of inspectors 3) Seeing consumers recieve huge payouts from builders and governments as a result of court action. If a house is certified by a goverment payed employee and it is not to code, then I think the government should and does have an obligation to pay. I also think the inspectors should have more accountabilty and I think an earlier post mentioned promoting experienced tradesman into the positions is an excellent idea. HH
  23. Thanks for the report Joey! Sunday looked like a prefect day to get out, alas, it was not in the cards for me! I still can't beleive Paul caught a fish though! LMAO! Re the cat... one of the funniest things I recall about my cat was the time I came home from Cooks Bay with a bucket of perch. The fish as the bottom of the bucket were frozen solid and as I was cleaning them, they began to thaw out. Well, my cat came down stairs to see what all that smell was about, climbed up the side of the bucket, just in time for one of the frozen fish, to start flopping in the bucket. I swear that cat jumped 4 feet straight into the air! Heck, I'm still laughing about that one! HH
  24. Glad you were able to grab one Emil! I did just what you suggested... I had the clerk look at all the stores within my area and they showed none in stock. I wasn't about to ask him to check within 60 miles of my location as that would have meant spending the $20.00 I was saving on the sled, on gas! HH
  25. Nice guitar Doug.... I plan on living another 100 years to buy this one, based on current ability to save for it: http://www.luxuo.com/2008/07/most-expensive-bass-guitar.html HH
