When you think about it at $4000 a person it's compares quite favourably to other Alaska resorts out there. Most that I have looked at are in the $3500-$5000 range for 5 days, all in of course.

Or they are perhaps knock offs. Check the hooks, sometimes great copies will have very poor quality hooks. I got burned a couple of years ago. I changed the hooks and they are great lures.

I think that any of us that have been around here for a while know who the service operators are and some of us use them from time to time. Most represent themselves well and while there is always an ulterior motive of promoting their business, most do it with class and share as much as they take. Those who abuse the privilege are taken care of by the mods... And by the way everyone knows that the Blue Marlin on the West Arm prefer white, purple is sooooo last year!

I'm not a fan of the telescopic rods. Maybe my opinion is a leftover of what was available 20 years ago. St Croix makes a really nice 4 piece Premier. It is not cheap but I hear good things from a friend who has both the 4 wt fly rod and the spinning rod versions. They break down to roughly 20" sections and pack in a nice compact nylon tube.

Someone was telling me that a piece of sonotube filled full of foam insulation works well.

I am right handed Garry and still can not understand casting with the right hand and then changing hands to retrieve. Especially when you are burning baits across the top of weeds. 01 series all the way for me..........
