  1. WooHoo!!! Nice to see it on the ice fNw. Gotta like it when a plan comes together. Tough going bout the tire but at least it didn't put a major kink into your plans. I'm liking the idea of getting your first fish framed and planting it up in the hut. I can see many more photos going up along with it too! Cheers, Ron...
  2. For sure that would put some kids into a different time of their life. Very nice Bushart! I hope they accept this piece of art to display in some of the rooms. Cheers, Ron...
  3. Hats off to all of those who put some time back towards the fisheries. It is a nice way of putting back into something we all so much enjoy. Good on ya's! Cheers, Ron...
  4. There are several different "sunflower" styles on the market. Be sure to get the one with the fully adjustable valve, as like the one you see in Wayne's post. The other makes only have "off, low, medium and high" settings. Trust me, there is no difference in the 3 settings. At least with a variable valve, you set the btu output to match the day.
  5. Hey, it's not funny! But it's a start... Cheers, Ron...
  6. Impressive looking handle. Looking forward to see the fancy wraps on the guides now!(hope they are red wraps) lol
  7. I am saddened for your lose Kelvin. Ensure that memories continue with each day. You will be in our prayers. Ron...
  8. Before anyone really does get the bright idea of using Gold fish for bait, IT IS ILLEGAL. Just saying tis all... Cheers, Ron...
  9. Even better! He can gain the experience of snowmobiling ethics during the day and understand why it is important to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT when you get back home to talk to Mama!
  10. Moesey ON Inn is the place you want to stay at. We leave from there right onto the trails and they have no problem with us leaving the truck and trailer behind as we do a 5 or 6 day trip.
  11. You are better off to buy it on line I'm told. The new licence system is a big PITA and took about 15 minutes to sort through at the tackle shops.
  12. Now that right there is funny, I don't care who you are. If you didn't laugh at that one, you ain't got no sense of humour! ha ha ha I know a bunch of guys that built a hut similar to yours, they set it up a mere 3 meters from the launch ramp. Had outdoor plumbing and used it for their poker nights! Perfectly legal, no taxes and the Police could not harass them for drinking in a public space because they had a stove for cooking, a place to sleep and a bathroom. There is nothing that says you have to have holes in your floor for it to be an ice hut! Looking forward to a report on your first catch. Cheers, Ron...
  13. For those of you who have left handed reels... Cheers, Ron...
  14. Well, it's not what you would want for news. Hope your wife is doing better soon Kelvin. Cheers, Ron...
  15. A.R.E. = junk too. I had mine for less than 6 months, the back window hinge failed, took it in for warranty, Sorry that's not covered under warranty they say, it's a moving part! You get what you pay for, the next one will be a Leer.
  16. Hey I can relate to this one Art. I had problems with American Standard kitchen faucets in one of the Condominiums I do maintenance in. I had the run around for several weeks from American Standard. Finally I called them back and waited for yet another hour requesting parts when I told them I came up with a repair kit myself to fix their faucets. "Oh, that's good to hear sir, what did you come up with?" My reply.... Replace it with a Moen! There was a brief silence, and then he said they would ship out enough parts to replace the faulty spout and cartridge for all of the suites. Great I said, I will need 126 of them. He sent me 2, I'm still waiting for the other 124 and that was 2 years ago.
  17. Iv'e been watching this thread right from teh get go. Looking for pointers? Here's one... Pick yourself up some trailer jacks and place one on each corner. You can then easily jack it up to set blocks underneath so it will not freeze in. This was not my idea but an idea I saw from the huts of BJ Tackle in Bewdley. I got pictures, I will post it later on. Cheers, Ron...
  18. Hope you spudded your way out for safe travel too Drifter, you never know if there was thin spots on the way out. Cheers, Ron...
  19. They are great folks, Mark also sits on the advisory council for FMZ 17 representing the baitfish council. I will be sure to pass on this message to him next week at the meeting.
  20. Nice beast Drifter! Anyone would be proud to catch a fish of that size. Cheers, Ron...
  21. Obviously you can tell Lloyd wasn't with you..... "TERRY CAUGHT A FISH TERRY CAUGHT A FISH!!!" ha ha ha Nice haul Terry, good on ya bud... Cheers, Ron...
  22. Ok everyone, Take a deep breath and hug amongst yourselves. The area where Mike and Chris were fishing, was in deed safe ice. As Mike had posted, take it upon yourselves to what you yourself consider to be safe ice. Why someone would get flamed or crapped upon for a fishing post is beyond me. Opinions around here are like , everyone has got one, but some make the best of what they have. Thanks for the post Mike, it has given me the option of getting off my and checking out some lakes myself. Hope I get into some Whitefish. I will send you a PM so as not to offend the sensitive people on this board on how we make out. Cheers, Ron...
  23. Just strap some planks on Tom. You'll be alright then.... Cheers, Ron...
