Even better! He can gain the experience of snowmobiling ethics during the day and understand why it is important to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT when you get back home to talk to Mama!

Moesey ON Inn is the place you want to stay at. We leave from there right onto the trails and they have no problem with us leaving the truck and trailer behind as we do a 5 or 6 day trip.

You are better off to buy it on line I'm told. The new licence system is a big PITA and took about 15 minutes to sort through at the tackle shops.

Now that right there is funny, I don't care who you are. If you didn't laugh at that one, you ain't got no sense of humour! ha ha ha I know a bunch of guys that built a hut similar to yours, they set it up a mere 3 meters from the launch ramp. Had outdoor plumbing and used it for their poker nights! Perfectly legal, no taxes and the Police could not harass them for drinking in a public space because they had a stove for cooking, a place to sleep and a bathroom. There is nothing that says you have to have holes in your floor for it to be an ice hut! Looking forward to a report on your first catch. Cheers, Ron...

For those of you who have left handed reels... Cheers, Ron...

Hey I can relate to this one Art. I had problems with American Standard kitchen faucets in one of the Condominiums I do maintenance in. I had the run around for several weeks from American Standard. Finally I called them back and waited for yet another hour requesting parts when I told them I came up with a repair kit myself to fix their faucets. "Oh, that's good to hear sir, what did you come up with?" My reply.... Replace it with a Moen! There was a brief silence, and then he said they would ship out enough parts to replace the faulty spout and cartridge for all of the suites. Great I said, I will need 126 of them. He sent me 2, I'm still waiting for the other 124 and that was 2 years ago. -
Iv'e been watching this thread right from teh get go. Looking for pointers? Here's one... Pick yourself up some trailer jacks and place one on each corner. You can then easily jack it up to set blocks underneath so it will not freeze in. This was not my idea but an idea I saw from the huts of BJ Tackle in Bewdley. I got pictures, I will post it later on. Cheers, Ron...

They are great folks, Mark also sits on the advisory council for FMZ 17 representing the baitfish council. I will be sure to pass on this message to him next week at the meeting.

Ok everyone, Take a deep breath and hug amongst yourselves. The area where Mike and Chris were fishing, was in deed safe ice. As Mike had posted, take it upon yourselves to what you yourself consider to be safe ice. Why someone would get flamed or crapped upon for a fishing post is beyond me. Opinions around here are like , everyone has got one, but some make the best of what they have. Thanks for the post Mike, it has given me the option of getting off my and checking out some lakes myself. Hope I get into some Whitefish. I will send you a PM so as not to offend the sensitive people on this board on how we make out. Cheers, Ron...

Just strap some planks on Tom. You'll be alright then.... Cheers, Ron...

Like you said in your op, go see Jocelyn.

Cobourg fishing meeting with the Parks and Rec Wednesday
Ron replied to Ron's topic in General Discussion
Wow, Talk about getting the run around. Firstly, I was under the impression this was going to be an "informal meeting". When we get there, it is in a board room with all the Parks and Recreation committee members. Not that I wasn't prepared, but it didn't go off as smoothly as anticipated. Once I gave my brief presentation, Dawn from the OFAH also gave information as to the reasons why angling should be allowed in the harbour. The response from the committee? "Why are you taking this up with us? You should be speaking with the Town council".... Yet, the one on one "on site" meeting with a committee member is the one who suggested we discuss this with the P&R... The final outcome you ask? They suggested I speak with their advisor who is reviewing the bylaws. I asked for the name of this person, their reply was "We don't know, we haven't hired them yet. The tenders won't be opened til mid January". So here it stands, at idle til after the Holiday season is over. Cheers, Ron... -
That's my buddy Chris. He caught that on the Ganny a couple of weekends ago. You should see my other buddys Giant Pike he caught on the French River. The above are nothing though, you have got to see the Sturgeon caught on the Groundhog River near Timmins by us OFNers. I think Terry still has that picture somewhere. Cheers, Ron...

Geesh Mike, 4:33 PM..... That was quick! ha ha ha (inside joke right there, now that's funny! ha ha ha).... Cheers, Ron...

$4,500 Fine For Humber River Salmon Poacher NEWS December 12, 2011 A Toronto man has been fined $4,500 for illegal salmon fishing at the Old Mill Dam on the Humber River. Stephan Tymchyshyn, of Etobicoke, pleaded guilty to charges under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and the Ontario Fishery Regulations. In addition to the fine, his fishing licence has been suspended for two years and his fishing equipment has been permanently forfeited. Previous fishing convictions were considered in handing down this sentence. The court heard that on the evening of October 8, 2011, Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers found Tymchyshyn fishing in the Humber River immediately below the Old Mill Dam, in an area that is closed to fishing. Tymchyshyn was found to be in possession of illegal fish snagging equipment and two pails of fish roe. Justice of the Peace David R. Keilty heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto, on December 1, 2011. Migratory fish, such as rainbow trout and salmon, are vulnerable to poaching when they congregate in the pools at the base of dams while moving upstream to spawn. Signs posted at the Old Mill Dam remind anglers that no fishing is permitted within 60 metres downstream of the dam. To report a natural resources violation, call 1-877-TIPS-MNR (847-7667) toll-free any time or contact your local ministry office during regular business hours. You can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Hey all, Just a quick update about my meeting with the Town of Cobourg Parks and Rec committee. Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Mike Brown and myself will be having a general meeting with the town on Wednesday afternoon to discuss what I hope to be viable options for fishing within the Cobourg Harbour. I just want to thank OFAH and also Mike for stepping up and giving much needed support to ensure that people will still be able to fish in the Cobourg Harbour. I will be sure to give an update on this matter after the meeting. Cheers, Ron...
