  4. Wow, very few "Good for you!" comments. It's no wonder people don't bother posting images anymore. I don't blame Laz for not showing pictures. The same would go for a few other trophy takers (C&R of course) on this site. Speaking of such, has anyone heard from Mark Thorpe lately?
  5. Same as Mike has written, do not use any of the braids below 0 temps, although the bouyancy properties of braid are nice, they don't like frozen water. I have tried the new Power Pro Super slick adn must say I am rather impressed with it to. I use 20 lb, not for the strength but for the diameter. It doesn't seem to cut into itself as much on the spool.
  6. I have done repairs similar to this as well. First i would see if you can remove the screws securing the flange to the floor, raise the flange enough to cut the subfloor (1/4" underlay I would assume), and then re set the flange back in place. OR You can cut the ABS with a dremel tool from the inside provided there isn't a 90 directly below the flange. Available from my suppliers, is a flange that will set inside 3"ABS. Once you have the flange out of the way, you can remove the underlayment to lower the flange. Quite honestly though, you would be better off returning the toilet and replace with a different brand. Seems odd that the toilet you purchased has a lower rest for the gasket.
  7. Oh you have got to see the pic 58-Pounder -- Weighed & Released -- On The St. Lawrence Ed Barbosa of Meaford, Ontario, is no stranger to giant muskies being a regular customer of guide Mike Lazarus. At last light on December 10, he did it again. Fishing with Lazarus on the St. Lawrence River, Barbosa caught and released a musky measuring 54 3/4 inches with a 30 1/2-inch girth (measured both in the boat and in the water). On an IGFA certified scale and witnessed by three anglers, the fish weighed over 58 pounds. “The 58 never went away and the 60 never showed!,” Lazarus told Musky Hunter. At the time of weighing, Lazarus’ boat was in two feet of water in an area of no wind, so there was no scale movement. The fish struck a Legend Perchbait. “It was so fat it didnt look like a 50-incher in the net,” Lazarus said. “When put on its stomach, it did not roll over. It looked like a seal!” Lazarus told Musky Hunter that he had his scale double-checked and recertified by the IGFA on December 31 and "it was A-1." Photo cutline: Ed Barbosa hefts his 58-pound musky prior to release.

  10. Seizures are for ice fishing in a weekender hut, ask anyone I have enjoyed the company with on how i make them. Shaved ice with a spud is the key ingredient! I practice the night before, making B52's, take about 8 of em to get it perfected. We have the family come to our house Christmas morning where we watch our all growed up now kids, open their presents. afterwards, I make everyone breakfast to their order. Anything from strawberry, blueberry or peach crepes to omelets to eggs Benedict. Along with breakfast though, is B52's. They go great with a coffee chaser!

  14. In all the years I have loved my wife, this is the first time she has put her foot down. As Terri put it..... "Your gonna send that whole web site into shock..... (cause Ronnie couldn't go)....." Geesh, you think you know someone after being married to her for 24 yrs..... what a "ahem" sweetheart...... Not so cheerful, Ron...
  15. To the best of my knowledge, there is still discussion on Scugog but the reg changes didn't make the books for 2013.
  16. Nice to see you boyz ended with a bang Mike and Pete. I failed to get out one last time since being down your way. The weather just wasn't favorable on the weekends I could get out. Still had a great season overall though. Cheers, Ron..... Pete, looking for a partner Thursday??? Nah just kidding, tough to make a one day trip on a weekend let alone on a weekday!
  17. Through the FMZ 17 Advisory council, we have finally been able to release the changes that will take effect Jan/2013. Some of the changes will be: Increase minimum size on Muskie to 54 on Lake Ontario and lower Niagara. Decrease limit of Rainbow trout on Lake Ontario from 5 to 2. Bass season will now open a week earlier in some zones. Limit of 2 walleye on Lake Nippissing. A slot size for walleye is now imposed in zone 18. These are just a few that need to be mentioned. Here is the list of all changes: OMNR reg changes 2013 Bass Seasons in Southern Ontario English http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101637.pdf French http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101646.pdf Bass and Walleye in FMZ 18 English http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101638.pdf French http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101647.pdf Fisheries Management Zone 20 (Lake Ontario) English http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101639.pdf French http://www.mnr.gov.o.../stdprodconsume ... 101648.pdf
  18. I use em all right from 1/64oz to 3/8oz. All colors too.
  19. Have no idea as this is the only info I got = the image, that's it. Wasn't me, nor was I with the lucky (skilled) angler. Cheers, Ron...
  20. Sorry boyz and girlz, this is all the info I got.......
  21. Nice fish bud. You will get bigger yet! Did you set up that cage to protect you from all the boat fishermen casting lures at the shore fishermen? Cheers, Ron...
  22. For those of you who have never fished the area in question, you have no idea on how the fishing is done. It is a narrow channel which has boat traffic going in and out of the river. it is a narrow passage as on the far side away from the pier. You have no option but to troll closer to the pier as that is the navigation channel. Unfortunately, there is limited space for both the shore anglers and the boaters.
  23. Through hull fitting failure? Not something I would look forward to seeing in the morning. Bummer, Ron...
  24. You won't be disappointed Lew. I will tell you however, it takes a good number of miles before you get the fuel consumption ratings. As for towing capacity, the eco boost has one of the higher ratings. My brother bought one and put 1000kms on it before going to Lake Nipigon with it towing a 37 ft. fifth wheel and behind that, his 21ft Skeeter. Fuel consumption was better on his than my Tundra hauling my 17.5ft Lund. He is now getting in the neighborhood of 30 mpg hauling empty.
  25. So sorry to hear this news Paul. It is never easy to loose a loved one. Ron...
