  1. Now that would make for a great weekend. Nothing better than having a gem like that all to yourself...
  2. Nice haul! I can't believe the color of the L trout flesh. Good on ya!
  3. I got a trip coming up in a few weeks. As long as I know the sun is going to rise and set, I'll be happy.
  4. Trilene XL for me thanks. Never had problems with the stuff so I have had no need to try something else.
  5. Where can I read this study? I don't believe it for a minute. Who wrote this thesis?
  6. I will stick with my Merrils when it's raining. It's like a hiking boot but Gortex.
  7. Nice!
  8. Did I miss the memo on this one? Real fishing is 365 days a year. It's just a muskie opener come June 1. However, saying that, I took this weekend off fishing so i could clean the boat, lube my reels, spool up my new Toro, make leaders, sharpen hooks. silicone my line guides, grease the boat motor. OK OK OK, so I lied, yes I'm darn excited to get out. Just sticking local though, won't get our for real fish til Thursday. Hope we get a weekend like we did last year.
  9. Just incredible Pete! I wish I had of followed this from the get go. A friend of mine has also done this. i see him at the coffee shop every morning. I keep thinking about doing the same program, I just haven't had the right time to start it. You have given me encouragement simply by reading this thread from the first post. As soon as I get a chance to see the Doctor in Oshawa, I'm on it. Thanks for taking the time to put these posts up Pete.
  10. nice! I can relate to the R&R with family poping in while Carp fishing. nothing more relaxing than sitting back in the chair and watching the day go by. The beauty part is being able to enjoy a beer... or 2 while being set up carping. Cheers, Ron...
  11. I can just imagine how many times the record would have been broken for the Brook Trout if it was still unspoiled and natural. We human beings sure do know how to destruct a good thing.

Looks like a fine weekend you guys had. Good on ya's Cheers, Ron...
  13. Glad to hear you Christen the boat in it's maiden voyage Rizzo. First ride is always the scariest, eventually it will become ol hat and you will be able to navigate that machine with confidence.
  14. Too funny. We had the same thing happen to us Saturday. that's the beauty of the new Terrova. Vertical jigging, hook a fish, fight fish and then move off while there is a barage of boats fighting to where you were. Funny actually, you would see anchor rope in 100ft lengths going overboard and while they were getting set up to fish, I would set the anchor mode on and fish away.
  15. I understand why your buddy was so worn out. Did you see the ball cap the poor bugger was wearing???? It probably drained all his energy mentally, to have to carry them alone.
  16. Nothing I like more to hear than getting kids hooked on fishing. Your absolutely right, stocked ponds were invented with kids in mind.
  17. Nice to see ya'll getting out there. Was it busy on the Lake?
  18. Glad to hear the pair of ya got out. And some decent fish to boot.... nice! Cheers, Ron...
  19. Hey, What do you think you doing? Those lures won't get tied by themselves yo know...... Now put the boat back int eh driveway, give teh keys to Danna and get your sorry *@@ back to work.
  20. Jeasus Matt, Don't tell me you were in charge of getting the fire started??? LMAO (Too funny!) Looks like a great trip. I miss the days of portageing into remote lakes, not finding another soul around you. Thanks for bringing back memories for me. Cheers, Ron...
  21. Thames River, Light House Cove is closer than Mitchell Bay.
  22. Tks for the replies everyone. Yeah, a hoodie would have a warm welcome too. Surface temps ranged from 49-52 deg F. Friggen cold with just a jacket! Also to note, pay close attention on where you park if you launch from Inisfil. Signage is of great shortage. If the parking lot is full at the launch ramp, you have to park at lot F, which is up at the soccer fields. Not bad if you enjoy walking, bout a 15 minute delay to park and walk back. THEY DO NOT WANT FISHER PEOPLE IN INISFIL, I swear! 25 bucks to launch and 30 bucks for improper parking. Oh ya, DO NOT PARK OVER THE DIVIDING LINE, they will ding for that too. I'll be launching from Sibbald Point from now on. Cheers, Ron...
