Gorgeous ski Lew. Then again, they are the only species on this planet I prefer big and fat! Cheers, Ron...

I was running around with portable pumps and set up several generators on the condos i maintain. I remember one gas station having a generator set up to service their pumps. Limiting people to only 20 liters. Good thing I knew the owner as I needed plenty to keep the submersibles and gennys running. I still remember my youngest daughter saying that night... "You know Dad, we should have this every year". I agree with her.

Hey Mike, I thought I replied to this earlier. I had written up a follow up report with yours but for some reason it is not here. Well here it goes again..... Wow, what an unbelievable weekend we had on St. Clair!!! Firstly, how can you beat the company we had after the days fishing by visiting a couple of great people I am privileged to call friends. We had some great conversations, lots of laughs and even some education on life in general. Fishing was far better than we had anticipated for this time of year but I guess when the stars align and using top quality gear and mainly the Handlebarz d-10's how can you not have a great weekend! Keith and I lost track of the amount of follows we had for the weekend, the amount of hookups were incredible! The quality fish we had caught over the weekend were well above our expectations that's for sure. Myself putting a 48 and a pair of 52's in the boat was stellar. I don't think we can top off the double header though. It was just milliseconds from being a triple header! My buddy Keith had a follow right before Mike hooked into his nice big fat 54". Hearing the screams and f bombs coming from Mikes boat, I certainly knew he had a great fish on. I was watching Mike play the fish out and we were just about to go over to see this tank after I finish off my retrieve with the big oval at the end of the cast. Just as i am starting my turn on the Handlebarz custom tie, I see my big fish following aggressively behind. I instinctively drop the tip down to continue another oval and just on the rise, I get to see my prize engulf my offering. What a rush to see a fish of this size take a d-10 and turn. GAME ON! I don't know who got their fish in the net first, Mike or myself. All I know is we had a couple of sows boated and both were definitely picture worthy! It was less than a 2 minute cruise on the electric to Mikes boat to capture what i believe is a first. (Definitely a first for me anyways). Hot lures of choice for the weekend for us were: Electric Black Series Black Nickel blades - caught 6 Electric Black Series Chart blades - caught 3 Blazin walleye - caught 2 Custom color (Thanks Mike) - caught 2, Smitty Dog - caught 1 Cheers, Ron... -
That is a tank for sure! Congrats to BillM senior! Cheers, Ron... (PS: GET OFF MY SPOT!!!) lol

I met this guy once up North, he was telling me about this MASSIVE Brook trout he caught. We went on about how long it took to bring it in and then finished off by saying the brookie weighed 12 lbs! I replied...... "Nice fish, but your not gonna believe this.... You know that point over there by the over flow? Well, there is an old steamer by the name of MT Juliette, that sank from back in the logging days. It laid to rest in in 147 ft of water. it is one of my favorite places to jig for BIG Lakers on Nip. Well, wouldn't you know it, I hooked into something and brought it up. I knew I was on top of the ship cause what I brought up was a lantern. The name was boldly engraved MT Juliette in the solid brass base plate. The best part of the whole episode was that the wick was still lit!" The guy replied to me..."Oh come on man, you expect me to believe that??? How the heck would the lantern still be lit after coming up from the bottom?" I simply replied..."Tell ya what, I'll blow out the wick on the lantern if you want to knock 6 lbs off your Brookie". He looked at me and with a flush face, he simply walked away.

Thanks for posting this Chris. My hat is off to you Tony, You have definitely put your time in for this. Maybe not this year like you said with work commitments, but it certainly made up for the other years. Congrats! Cheers, Ron...

Auction to Fight Cancer - My day of fishing with the winners.
Ron replied to fishnsled's topic in General Discussion
Looked like a great time out there Will. Good on ya for putting up such a fine offer for auction. -
Your a step ahead of us on this one Drew. That is the planned trip for exploration for us next year. By the looks of things, we won't be disappointed. Great to see your daughter enjoying the trip just as much if not more than you. I too would be in line to buy one of your journals. Cheers, Ron...

Nice start to the season Aaron. The bigguns are starting to show up in the Port Hope area too i hear. Cheers, Ron...

Some nice specimens Al. Did you manage to catch many over the 22 inch mark? Cheers, Ron...

The blue wire should only have power when vehicle is in reverse. This goes to a power valve and prevents fluid applied to brakes while backing up.
-
Coast split ring pliers. Best ones I have used or owned yet. It's a must have for any muskie fishing.
-
Make your own nail weights.... You can buy lead solder from any hardware store, cut to desired length and insert. just make sure you get acid free.

Enjoyed the report Dave. Even though I don't think i have read a report that even comes close to your ice fishing escapade a few years back. that one is still fresh on my mind and you every now and then throw that pic of your outfitters camp in as a reminder once again!

Great fish Lew! I have yet to hook into a Muskie this year. I'm having a bad year I guess. The table will turn soon enough though, got a few destinations coming up. Nothing beats R&R and then getting out for a couple hours of prime time fishing. Cheers, Ron...

Looks like way too many chits and giggles were had up there. To see a fishery like that, how can you NOT have a fantastic trip. I hope you tuned them in about the whiskey n ice. That there is almost a deal breaker on a return visit! hahaha. cheers, Ron...

Emily Provincial Park. Very south end of Pigeon lake. it's got everything you asked for. Kids can even jump off highway bridge. Muskie can be caught there too.

I've caught bigger....

Even if the Muskie fishing wasn't all that great, looks like you guys still had an awesome week up there. Your photos are simply amazing. cheers, Ron...

Figure it out like this... $0.10 a fish. 50.00 rod should catch about 500 fish. 100.00 rod - 1000 fish 500.00 rod - 5000 fish. If it broke after those numbers per dollar value, you got your moneys worth. I recently bought a new NRX rod, I got close to 150 fish on it already..... Another 5426 fish to catch before I break even.

Sorry Roy. just did a search.... A person is deemed to be the holder of a Recreational Fishing Licence if they are: 1. Residents of Ontario and Canada under 18 years old, or 65 years of age or older and in possession of any licence, permit, certificate or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates their name and date of birth. but still Roy, i thought you were older than 18. i always thought of a non resident, as in not living in Ontario. (Thanks Lloyd)...

Tiller model? LMAO.....
-
Call me nieve, but does that apply to a non resident as well? I assume you live in Quebec Roy so esentially you would be considered a non resident of Ontario no? Just curious... Cheers, Ron...

Cabin rental on pigeon lake or kawartha lake help
Ron replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
Mike, you can hit any of the 3 lakes- Pigeon, Upper Buckhorn or Chemung. All 3 are connected. Scottsman Point is a good place. Muskie and Walleye can be had a very short distance from there. Let me know if and when you come down and I would be more than happy to take you and your darling out on my "milk run". Cheers, Ron...
