  1. Looks like way too many chits and giggles were had up there. To see a fishery like that, how can you NOT have a fantastic trip. I hope you tuned them in about the whiskey n ice. That there is almost a deal breaker on a return visit! hahaha. cheers, Ron...
  2. Emily Provincial Park. Very south end of Pigeon lake. it's got everything you asked for. Kids can even jump off highway bridge. Muskie can be caught there too.
  3. Even if the Muskie fishing wasn't all that great, looks like you guys still had an awesome week up there. Your photos are simply amazing. cheers, Ron...
  4. Figure it out like this... $0.10 a fish. 50.00 rod should catch about 500 fish. 100.00 rod - 1000 fish 500.00 rod - 5000 fish. If it broke after those numbers per dollar value, you got your moneys worth. I recently bought a new NRX rod, I got close to 150 fish on it already..... Another 5426 fish to catch before I break even.
  5. Sorry Roy. just did a search.... A person is deemed to be the holder of a Recreational Fishing Licence if they are: 1. Residents of Ontario and Canada under 18 years old, or 65 years of age or older and in possession of any licence, permit, certificate or identification card issued by the Government of Canada or a provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates their name and date of birth. but still Roy, i thought you were older than 18. i always thought of a non resident, as in not living in Ontario. (Thanks Lloyd)...
  6. Call me nieve, but does that apply to a non resident as well? I assume you live in Quebec Roy so esentially you would be considered a non resident of Ontario no? Just curious... Cheers, Ron...
  7. Mike, you can hit any of the 3 lakes- Pigeon, Upper Buckhorn or Chemung. All 3 are connected. Scottsman Point is a good place. Muskie and Walleye can be had a very short distance from there. Let me know if and when you come down and I would be more than happy to take you and your darling out on my "milk run". Cheers, Ron...
  8. Now that would make for a great weekend. Nothing better than having a gem like that all to yourself...
  9. Nice haul! I can't believe the color of the L trout flesh. Good on ya!
  10. I got a trip coming up in a few weeks. As long as I know the sun is going to rise and set, I'll be happy.
  11. Trilene XL for me thanks. Never had problems with the stuff so I have had no need to try something else.
  12. Where can I read this study? I don't believe it for a minute. Who wrote this thesis?
  13. I will stick with my Merrils when it's raining. It's like a hiking boot but Gortex.
  14. Did I miss the memo on this one? Real fishing is 365 days a year. It's just a muskie opener come June 1. However, saying that, I took this weekend off fishing so i could clean the boat, lube my reels, spool up my new Toro, make leaders, sharpen hooks. silicone my line guides, grease the boat motor. OK OK OK, so I lied, yes I'm darn excited to get out. Just sticking local though, won't get our for real fish til Thursday. Hope we get a weekend like we did last year.
  15. Just incredible Pete! I wish I had of followed this from the get go. A friend of mine has also done this. i see him at the coffee shop every morning. I keep thinking about doing the same program, I just haven't had the right time to start it. You have given me encouragement simply by reading this thread from the first post. As soon as I get a chance to see the Doctor in Oshawa, I'm on it. Thanks for taking the time to put these posts up Pete.
  16. nice! I can relate to the R&R with family poping in while Carp fishing. nothing more relaxing than sitting back in the chair and watching the day go by. The beauty part is being able to enjoy a beer... or 2 while being set up carping. Cheers, Ron...
  17. I can just imagine how many times the record would have been broken for the Brook Trout if it was still unspoiled and natural. We human beings sure do know how to destruct a good thing.

  19. Glad to hear you Christen the boat in it's maiden voyage Rizzo. First ride is always the scariest, eventually it will become ol hat and you will be able to navigate that machine with confidence.
