  3. good to hear I know I have a few weeks home after my 5 day long weekend and I know a certain lil place I have neglected all season.
  4. I just wanna fish the yukon some time, don't care what for. Just so majestic up there
  5. Well, not as often as I would like this year, baby on the way, "new" trailer, "new" boat (that has been a project of mine- only to make it better, still usable) pretty much has my time covered. The past few years tho I would get out 3-4 times a wk (some times more). I caught my first pan fish around 7 or 8 years old and my first "real fish" at 10 a "hefty" 3.6 lb largie that won my a derby in my trailer that year and would say I've been fishing for 25 yrs- my main species of target are bass and walleye and pike when on the right waters. And as I've told u b4 I've recently got into musky fishing with little luck .
  6. That guy likely needs to check his crap for underwear lol
  7. not sure of where you're at but around here anything 15' or taller requires a permit
  8. ya I tried top water a couple times (was dieing to try my new (at the time) live target mice) - had a few blow ups but with the bite sooo slow I wasn't expecting anything and missed the hook sets. they didn't seem to big then either.
  9. a few of my buddies have done it, all i gotta say is good luck !!! post pics if u get any
  10. I've been hounding her to add bacon bits to the sprinkles (real bacon not that salty dog food like crap) - but she says " baby, there's already enough bacon" (pffffft ) I should also add that she puts minced bacon in the meat loaf as well lol
  11. looks amazing ! here's a little treat the mrs. made up for my dirty 30 party (and numerous times since).. they are bacon wrapped meatloaf cupcakes , topped with havarti w/ jalapino cheese "icing" and green onion "sprinkles" Mmmm Mmmm
  12. Looks good, plan on doing the same sort of thing for my tinny (only mount the deck in the front) in the late fall when I take the ol girl out for the winter. I also plan to hinge it somehow for PFD storage etc. Always nice to see people with as crazy thoughts as myself
  13. Aboslute beauts u got there.. I need to get out more, but the new trailer I got in the spring, and the yard around the house has me tied up pretty tight
  14. great report, but one question, what time's breaky tomorrow ??
  15. I notice your location says Nord bay, but I swear 2nd and 3rd shot look like the narrows between K-mog and Soyers Lake lol nice fish regardless of location. And I apologize if i've said too much
  16. ---A few years back, I was enjoying a beer and smoke on the front porch after a work week and was daydreaming, watching a hawk float effortlessly in the up drafts over a field in a park a few blocks over, when i lost it behind the tall tree in the front yard. Seconds later I see a bolt in the corner of my eye and hear noises ive never heard before, then noticed it was the hawk, it had swooped down and taken out a morning dove that was sitting on the side of the road about 20 ft in front of me. The noises were from its companion trying to save it - with no luck. the hawk just sat there with the poor bird in its grasp-spreading its wings and puffin its chest at the loan survivor as if to say "what you want some of this?" --again a couple years ago, I was sitting on my buddies dock on the french river with some rye and gingers and chatting quietly listening to the loons call back and forth. when all of a sudden, we hear a loud splash about 100 ft out in the deep. and a loon just losing it !!, couple seconds later another splash, then silence... musky maybe ??
  17. Thems the toads I hunt, love em! Thanks for posting
  18. Crown and anchor always cleans out my account
  19. I know the pond in my back yard tends to get cloudier after a few rain days, maybe the water clearity might be due to less rain murkin it up ? As for plant growth, well most of mine are scortched.
  20. oye, haven't had to do this since my first meeting but here it goes- My name is Steve, I'm born and raised in Kitchener, and have had a family trailer at the Northern Eagle trailer resort my entire life On Kashagawigamog in Haliburton, and have recently bought my own to enjoy for years to come. I live with my gf Tasha, who I have recently got into fishing with me, and we are expecting our first born on New years day (hope he likes fishing- yes we've been told its a wee lad). I'm a HUGE miami dolphins fan, must be the logo, cuz it sure ain't the "win" column (as of late) that has me rootin for em. I mainly fish for bass, walleye and pike, but have recently been stockin up on musky gear, and have pulled the odd laker out of the ice back in the day.
  21. Only been out a couple times this year, and all I can say is the bass bite is reeeeealy slow. Like bounce a worm off their snouts slow. Been finding a lot of them in 15-20 ft of water with steady drops, rocky shores with deep weed edges/drops , but none of the ones I got to commit to eating were worth writing home about so take from this info as you wish.
  22. Congrats ! Tho I question the size, mite need to see her next to an official OFC derby indicator jk. Enjoy the time off (from sleep that is)
  23. I still have to wait for New Years day to meet my new fishin buddy, Can't Wait !!
  24. Can't give too much advice, as I've only fished it once, while on my buddys Bach. party get away. and was just casting out from the swimmers raft that the rented cottage offered. But I can tell u this, I caught the biggest pike of my life there just burning back a black and red in line spinner bait. (the thing was over 40" ) - oh and a fair size (2-3lb) largie too.
