Yep...be somewhere that is nowhere below a dam in the Kawarthas...most are fish sanctuaries until one week later than the opening of pickerel fishing...a boat helps but is not the be all to end all...lots of panfish including crappies can be caught from shore after the last Saturday of April 2008... If you hang around here long enough, you just might meet some new mates to fish with and learn a few tips...some members will share places if you PM them but will not divulge the info here on the forum...I hope you understand why...

The hotels/motels don't miss out on a good thing during race weeks...prices double plus... We had good luck fishing off the pier in Daytona...no license required and if you use your own tackle all you pay is admission and a couple of bucks for some frozen shrimp...Great fun ! Watch out for the sneaky birds...they'll steal your bait !!!

Hey Meely...I have slowly been weaning myself off sweeteners...maybe half a teaspoon of regular sugar on my cereal...I've never tried honey in coffee, only tea...I check my glucose level every morning and don't see any significant difference using a LITTLE sugar...same as reverting back to butter instead of Becel...Margarine is only one molucle away from plastic... Be interesting to see what others have to say...

You might want to give "Bear Paw" connectors a try...they help make the hook stand out from the main line providing your leader is not real long... By loosening them off a little you can reposition them up or down the line...

From my younger days (like about 60 years ago)

Nearly had one of those partridges for dinner...I watched Ki (our big cat) chase one across the lawn earlier and he just missed it before it flew up into a tree... My kind of hunting...sitting in my lazy-boy and letting the cats do all the work !!! Nice lookin' camp boss...

Except for the wintertime, I live now where I wanted to be after retirement...somewhere I could be fishing in fifteen minutes...10 minutes outside of town (Bobcaygeon/Buckhorn) and a little more than half an hour to P'Boro or Lindsay...only real drawback is no family doctors...have to drive to Richmond Hill (2 hours) to see ours for check-ups etc. Florida is nice as far as fishing is concerned but too damn hot...maybe Garry2rs has the best idea...Arizona !

I hope this procedure works well for you Shawn...I have a keen interest in the long-term results... My operation for a protruding disc that was pressing against the spinal column did fix that problem but I still have degeneration and arthritis to deal with...Ok as long as I don't over do it (doesn't take much)...
