Karma... it is a three way street correct?

I know what you're talking about now... girl that turns her leg upside down sitting in the wheel chair. That's not Jen.. but suspect that whom ever it is she has had a similar hemipelvectomy and had seen Jen's youtube videos from about 2 years prior. Certainly hope she's still smiling! -

Not sure why she's in a sick kids advert.... she's in the gutsy walk advert for sure for Crohn's, but no idea why she's in a Sick kids advert considering she hasn't been there since she was 18. -
I bet the ice will be off Temagami before a lot of southern lakes. Temag only had between 5.5 and 8 inches of black ice last week, in all the holes we drilled, the rest was just water, snow and white crap. Figure it will be the earliest ice out in history for the lake. Late ice and then 6 feet of snow not a recipe for good ice.

Sick kids or Crohns and Colitis? We were asked if she could remain in their advertising. Here's the lads and I toasting with her favorite drink on Saturday night (27th) at the lake. -

Thanks again folks. What would have been Jen's 31st Birthday was on Feb 27th and we continue to move forward here at home the best we can, reflecting back on what we did right and what we may have done wrong. Considering everything we've seen around us the past 5+ years, when dealing with Ewing's, we're pretty settled to say we got it pretty much right and nothing else we may have done would have changed the outcome and we, over time, can hopefully live with that. That said it doesn't help us sleep at night and Leah is still at a loss looking for that letter Jen told her that she wrote to her, but we continue to get up each day and carry on the best we can. In a few days time I will ask Roy or Art to lock this thread down, so it can drift off into history with the memories it holds... but not before I print and save it in it's entirety! -

That'll buff right out! Guess the tug guy didn't like hard metal... -
$400 for 4 or 5 months and you expect a clear path to the door? If he needs to move the other boats for 3 hours (@ $90 to $125 an hour at any marina) he'd be in the hole pretty quickly if everyone wanted their boat out from the back. My guys pay $250 a MONTH to store their airplanes, they fully understand that first in usually means last out... but if the yard is dry enough I'll pull them out and rotate. But again I'm getting ~ $1500 each from them for a winter.
-
Greed or logistics? I'm certainly not pulling 6 float planes off blocks to get the guy in the back out because of an early Spring, but at least I try to store them in a "known pattern" as to who gets antsy first!
-
They can renovate that place all they want (been at it for over 3 years) and the toilets will probably still back up!
-
What does your rental agreement say as to pickup ability? Nobody is going to spend 4 hours pull 50 boats out and putting 49 back to get yours if you paid only a few hundred dollars for the winter. Sucks, but reality.

Sad indeed. I knew when Bob "retired" in the Fall that his time had come. Going to work was pretty much all that kept him going forward the past decade. I've known Bob personally, thanks to the aviation world, for over 25 years and you couldn't have met and known a finer gentleman. Bob fought a great fight, no holds barred, I hope he rests easy.
-
You get what you pay for.. that's for sure. It sucks, but being at the door is key. Guy here in Penetang leaves an "extraction" row so with a bit of work and wheel dollies anyone can get their boat out "first".

5 feet of snow in Temagami when we left on Sunday, should make things interesting on the Montreal, Temagami and Sturgeon rivers.

Haven't been there in 20 years or so. Nice place, but I found no fish in the lake below the falls other than some small perch. I think the lakes above the falls are the ones to fish.

So much water on the ice and huts being pulled off. Take your hipwaders and spikes!

Nice Simon! One thing I remember about Antigua is lots of Fire Coral. Make sure you both know what it looks like...

Dax, I roll my carpet up when it's dry and take it out of the boat before "Musky Fall" and go with the vinyl there on out. 10 seasons now, I've vacuumed it once while laying on the hangar floor, and it's still like new. Sits at the dock getting rained on for 5 months each season.. the odd fish slim! lol If it's really dirty I'd think the power washer and laying on the driveway pavement to dry. Just be sure not to roll it up before it's dry.

Did anyone get the Amber Alert last night?
irishfield replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Bell Xpressview. We were watching PVR and it dumped to amber alert with the full page red. Tonight watching the PVR again, from stuff recorded yesterday, it was just a ticker tape across the picture. -
I can't quote... but to answer Grimsby all packages with taxes and s/c require pick up at the postal outlet in our town. Mind you all packages do that won't fit in our site boxes. They take cash, cc and debit. A small tip... when you order, put a "Grimsby enterprises C/O your name, address, etc". I have found over time that 85% of my packages addressed to a business only get nailed for 5% gst, but if they are in my name only they get hit for 13% hst 100% of the time.

Customs seems to be a crap shoot these days. I just picked up a $388 US dollar package at the post office and customs did nothing with it. No tax collection or service fee, but last week they got me for a $50 dollar package.. so who knows.
