  1. awesome report mike. some serious hawgs there. gotta love that moment when the frog goes down!!
  2. I also have frog togg breathables now. my xplores from ct were neoprene and didnt last long with the miles. the toggs are way comfier, just hope they last a little longer.
  3. sweet pike, good way to remember the OFC sign too by keepin it in the wallet
  4. congrats! thats one fine specimen and a beauty photo to boot
  5. Congrats to your GF! Looks like a mid 40s fish that could be up to 20lb but likely a little less. A net is a good thing to have when fishing balsam, try not to rope em up next time but everyone learns with experience.
  6. thats a serious northern. congrats on the pb! imperium seems to be doing very well for you, i gotta try plastic more often for pike.
  7. jealous. looks like a great weekend for sure. need to catch me one of them browns.
  8. I launched out of bass haven yesterday. i had no problems with my small 16'. I also layed a beat down on the pike. Consider the water temps when youre looking for a good spot to fish.
  9. thats crazy! some good wildlife posts this monday afternoon with this and the otter haha
  10. sarnia is a mess. lots of stuff flows in to lake st clair. this lake has one of the quickest water cycles. the water of the entire lake can be flushed with new water via the st clair river/lake huron in as little as 5-7 days so ive heard. lots of water flow through the lake and im sure some contaminants with it. it sure is productive for muskie though, whichever guide you choose I'm sure you will get into some fish!
  11. I certainly hope too repeat it but with a handlebarz! il be by when that first pay cheque rolls around from the summer gig.
  12. thats awesome! i wish i could find a spot within a couple hours of here to get back on some steel. were you swinging flies again or nymphing?
  13. gotta love steelhead on the fly. those are some awesome pics.
  14. The full throttle issue with the outboard could be the fuel line. i had this problem and also helped others with this simple fix. Also from experience, used motors are a gamble, but you know the guy well and 1991 aint all that old at all. Did he maintain it prior to the last 3 years? sounds like a deal for 1000.. i paid more for less when i got my aluminum and the outboard blew up on me twice. The outboard i currently run is a johnson that was outside for 15 years sans maintenance, didnt take much to get it going but how long will it last?
  15. cant wait to be rockin a couple of those stickers on my jeep, they look awesome mike. hopefully grab a white t at the odyssey too if i can make it between exams!
  16. im not a big fan of this word, but it comes to mind when i read this report... for the 5th time.. epic.
  17. awesome video, great editing. if you dont mind, how did you get the google map part into a video?! pretty cool
  18. i also think zing the bling would be killer over the back shoulders! logo looks awesome mike. cant wait to grab a shirt when im back in town.
  19. this is purely speculation, but I feel lake erie and lsc probably get hit harder by US anglers during the year round bass season due to proximity & fishing quality compared to the other zones where the regs have changed. lake ontario also shares border with us but much more water inbetween shorelines. the increased angling pressure on lsc & southern erie from the US anglers combined with an early opening date in Ontario may cause more negative effects on the populations that cant outweigh the positive economics of a single week of angling. Especially in lsc where the majority of bass spawn around the same time (I believe: uniform water depths/temps) so on a late spring, the early regs could impact parenting bass significantly by combined pressure of canadian and us anglers. this is the only reasoning i can speculate why seasons in my area have not changed. feel free to negate any of my comments as I am just making a guess!
  20. I better start tying bigger pike flies!
  21. unfortunately I use my current 8 weight for many applications but i do agree it would be nice to have a 10 wt for casting the big "feather dusters" the only reason Im considering an upgrade is because i lost a piece off my pflueger supreme in the drink when the spool fell off randomly I see the konic on sale at some places. definitely will give it a second look.
  22. thats a very good point that the line is long enough to take a couple snips! hows the konic in the cold? I had my greys reel freeze up on me which I was pretty displeased about but the drag isnt sealed on it
