Here's what I do - What do y'all do?

Electronics engineering Tech working at Christie Digital. -
The quickest and simplest solution is to buy couple of cans of canned corn and just throw it on the edge of the weed bed where you wanted to cast for them. Save one can for fishing. Put couple of kernels on your hook and cast where you chummed. Use a sinker so your bait sinks to the bottom and stays there. Leave your drag lose and stay close to the rod. Thats as simple as it can be really. Good luck

I had same issues with power pro last year. I was running 18lb power pro on one of my set ups and after few months of use it just started snapping randomly on hook sets. It never snapped on a knot. That was the last time i used it. Thought about sending them an email telling them how crappy their line was but never did. Now i am back to Mono and very happy with it.

I met Peter this spring when we blanked on cats and still had hell of a time. Peter is top notch in my books and would always fish again with you! -
Hey Ryan how is it going? Have you ever fished for carp at Floradale, there is some sort of a reservoir there and there is plenty of them in there. I used to fish it much more then i do now but i always did alright...fish are not very big but they are in good numbers. Now as for the original question, i cant help you with a location, but once you find the location that you want to fish. Chum the area good, i use canned corn for chumming and sometimes even maize, depends how much of it i have. Then just use the same bait for fishing as you did for chumming. Keep the bait on the bottom and loosen up your drag if you dont want to lose your rod. Most of us carpers have lost a few like that. Good luck!

Here is my dog Lucy....she hates the water but doesn't mind coming fishing with me. Every time i put a fish on the grass to unhook she comes by and licks it from head down to the tail...weird. She is a basset hound and shar-pei mix, just turned 6 months.

I think those 3 have made a mockery of NBA over last week or two, with LeBron going to Larry King to announce that he will become a free agent and then having ESPN broadcast his decision for about an hour. Now Miami is going to have to sign some high school kids to play along those 3, i am surprised they had enough money to sign all 3 of them.

I am glad the circus is over. It will be interesting to see how many shots each will get and how they`ll share the ball around. I think thats one too many superstars on the team.

When i first looked at the fish i knew it wasn't 51 pounds or whatever the article says. That was couple of days ago lol. here is the fish i got last weekend, measured 35 inches and not more then 25lb. Keep in mind I am 6 foot 4 and my waist size is 36 and i am holding the fish few inches from my body.

Glad to hear that you guys had a good fishing day and lots of fish caught. If Port Hope was not so far i would have joined on one of those trips for sure. I can relate to dropping keys in the water. One day i was fishing off this bridge and dropped all my keys in. It was about 5 feet deep and took me 20 minutes to snag them with a small mepps haha. Looking forward to pics!

Hey John, We went downtown St Marys for about hour and a half, managed one monster carp (35 inches) and that was it. I have not seen a lot of fish around, few carp and suckers here and there. After that we ended up going to Stratford, got couple of smaller carp there and a small rainbow on corn...how weird. If i don't end up going to Paris on Sunday maybe we can hook up for some bassin or you can tag along to Paris if you schedule is open. Never fished there so i cant promise a lot eheh.

Hey John hows it going. Great to see that you got into couple decent fish and managed to get the skunk off. I am going down that way in the morning....hope some of those suckers have moved out of my favorite fishing holes. Was water low and clear today?

Nice fish! What other fish can be had there in the summer? I fish that harbor in the fall quite often but other then salmon and an odd trout here and there i have not seen anything else caught.
-
Nice fish dude, carping around here slowed down a little bit over last week or two.

Nice fish! I noticed that fish is missing a chunk of its upper lip must be from smashing in the wall or something. Rain completely ruined my weekend as well. Other then 30 pounds of weeds i got nothing.

Are Browns Reproducing in the Conestoga River?
Marko replied to BillsTheBassMan's topic in General Discussion
I remember reading an article in Kitchener Record few years back saying how they were stocking Conestoga river with browns. Quite a few fish were released and for the past few years i saw people catch decent size fish right below the dam in St Jacobs. I don't see why those browns could not re-produce i just didn't think that the quality of the water is good enough to sustain decent brown fishery. -
Its raining again and my weekend was open for most part and planned fishing the Grand on friday night and sunday. This rain better not mess it up!

I was up in St Marys today, never have i seen so many suckers and some other fish in there with them. This other fish had a really long exotic back tail, at least 1-2 inches long and they would stick out when fish were in shallow. Tough fishing tho.

People going through meat with their bare hands grossed me out the most. Is it really that bad?? -
What can i say Victor, wherever you go you catch small fish ahahahh! Nice report man, interesting looking fish.

If you plan on fishing in still water i would just run a normal float set up just instead of a hook i would tie a hair rig and let it sit on the bottom. When fish hooks itself you`ll know. Another idea that might work is if you can actually see fish swimming around, just put some corn on a hook, without any weight or anything else, just a hook and some bait and let it sit where the fish are. Try casting 2-3 feet ahead of them, sometimes they strike right away when they see corn sinking. Oh yea and stay close to your rod.

Managed to get out today for couple of hours. It was really windy and must moving waters very high and muddy. Cold night last night really shut them down today. I did manage 1 fish though. This one made it worth sitting out on that wind today. Off to the fish barrier tomorrow, hoping for a good day! Tight lines out there! Marko

Went out to Hamilton Harbor last Friday night for an over nighter with a buddy of mine. Fishing was slow with only one run to show for, and even that fish he lost right at the shore. On the way home stopped by the place that Dan suggested and i was rewarded with the biggest fish this year. I did not measure it or weighed so i have no idea how much it weighed.
