  1. Is it really that hard to find couple of friends and figure out who these "cops" are and you make things even? Street justice...eye for an eye.....thats prety low even for the guys in blue
  2. Wow that cold spell we just had was awful!! Awesome pics and thumbs up for toughing it out there. Took my dog out for a walk every morning, after 30 seconds i could feel my cheeks burning haha.
  3. Got out one day before the cold moved in. Ice was forming all around me...scared the s**t out of me few times. Its really not that pleasant standing on a frozen river as you hear the ice crack right underneath your legs. Managed to get some Perch, even bothered taking a pic of one. Also got a baby pike, thought i had nice walleye one for a minute until that snout popped out through the hole.....almost disappointing lol. Down the hole it goes to live another day and get even bigger. Tight lines Marko
  4. Siberian taimen Big Tuna Marlin Musky Wels Catfish.....just a few
  5. Hey guys, Thanks for all the input its much appreciated. I think he is getting Daiwa Ballistic...he said he found a great deal on ebay (under 170 dollars with shipping). I will tell him that he wont be disappointed. I own a Daiwa Regal Z bait runner and its awesome as well. Daiwa has come a long way when its managing to keep head to head with Shimano in North American market. I just might get one myself Thanks again and stay safe in this snow storm
  6. Hey guys how is it going ? My friend emailed me the other day and asked me for some reviews on this Daiwa Ballistic reel. It looks like a great real but it cost jus as much as the Stradic CI4. I suggested that he should look at the Stradic`s before he purches the Daiwa reel. Has anybody used the daiwa reel or owned one in past? I am just looking for a review or two if possible? Which would you guys rather have ? I think i would go with the Stradic CI4 Here is a link for both http://www.cabelas.com/spinning-reels-shimano-stradic-ci4-spinning-reel-2.shtml http://www.cabelas.com/spinning-reels-daiwa-ballistic-spinning-reel.shtml Thank you
  7. I saw guys on Ottawa River use similar set ups...so i kind of came up with my own. I am going to test it later this evening when it warms up a little bit and on the weekend. Its just a trout hook on a hair rig and instead of loop i just tied up a trebble hook at the end. In theory it should work lol
  8. I am not really sure. I was trying to figure that out. I watched couple of guys on the river...they would drill a hole and just throw their transducer down the hole....i assumed it stayed in vertical position.
  9. I was out on Rideau River-Nicolls Island Saturday. 4 inches of slush with about 6-8 inches of good ice at least. Got bunch this size. White jig tipped with a minnow was the ticket . Stay safe out there
  10. Little holder i build from my gf`s old shoe rack....wait when she sees it hahah Nothing fancy...just to keep it straight downright the hole. I think transducer is sticking out enough..but can be adjusted easily. Thats a bad cat as well...he knows better lol
  11. Yea these models dont have the sensitivity adjustment...just the contrast. I played with the contrast as well...managed to "bleach" the lines but they were still there. I couldn't see my jig on it...i thought i could on few occasions but sometimes i think my eyes are playing tricks on me. There were few guys fishing around me, so it could the some kind of interference being picked up. I also noticed that lines shifted up and down as i pulled the transducer up and down. I am going to have to build some kind of a holder for a transducer so its being kept in downright position instead of just floating down in the hole. I could definitely tell when pike would move in ....the blob that fish are supposed to be is much wider and thicker then the perch ones. I am going to try to find some deeper water and test it. I`ll post the pics.
  12. Clearly shows perch rising but i didnt know how to get rid of the lines. Maybe trasducer needs to be in horizontal position.
  13. I have it...took some pics of what i was seeing. I could see fish fine...it just a lot of junk as well that i couldnt clean up
  14. Is Puslinch lake still open to public fishing? It was loaded with hammer handle pike last time i went (2 years ago i think)
  15. So that's where all GM rejects went hahah
  16. I am going to create a spread sheet and start putting some name down. Sooner we start the better lol
  17. Got about a meter in Ottawa over last week or so

  18. If you have the money go with the better one. There is a reason why one is twice the price of the other one, most of the time you get what you pay for.
  19. Where is that Rich? LeBarons? I need just about everything
  20. ITs crazy that in this day and age we have two different regulations for two different races. Its not ok that a Native person can come and pull a truck load of walleye from the lake and then a non native person comes and gets fined if he chooses to keep 3 or 4 fish for shore lunch. Its not right
  21. Size 4.0 circle hook with half of a chicken hanging off of it or a 3lb sucker Get the camera ready too lol. Catfish have been around for thousands of years...i think they adapt well hahah.
  22. Rich.....rumor has it the world is ending in 4 days i wouldnt really bother now...instead enjoy one. lol I am not a smoker but i heard that the patch and the gum work. Good luck bud
  23. I read some reviews and watched some videos on youtube on the unit. Reviews are a bit mixed, people complaining about not being able to see fish. I guess fish dont show up like they would on a regular fish finder as a fish or an arc, on this one they show up as a ball. Most of the videos i found on youtube were European so good luck understanding some of it lol. I am counting on the unit performing well ice fishing, I`ll be able to tell you more after few outings
  24. My friend fished 2 smaller ponds just last weekend, and said other one he drove by didn't have any ice on it. Ottawa area somewhere. This rain isn't really helping one bit but ice is going to be here sooner then later.
  25. Radio world had a killer deal on a Lowrence Mark-5x DSI portable. With shipping it came to 130 dollars. Going to give this ice fishing a fair shot this winter as well, may as well do it right
