It will be tough if I judge from past experiences and cold springs. The water has dropped some, but the weeds are way behind. This should give the walleye a break on opening for a change. Best to try different techniques, but a slow presentation will be the trick. Minnows sure wouldn't hurt your chances.

You found the mother load! I used to find them in the bellies of brookies and splake that I caught in Algonquin Park. I don't think that you can legally use them as bait though.

I have seen the rainbows in small lakes suspend out over the deep holes in May and caught them on spinners being trolled or tiny twisters being casted. Some swear by those gang trolls (a bunch of large spinners in a row with something at the end for the fish) if the fish are a little deeper.

Those are some nice looking fish. It seems some of you have never tried smoked carp. I found them one of the best fish for smoking.

I drove over the bridge at the narrows on Easter Sunday. The water is high. I saw a couple of boats in the narrows, but it looked like the lake was still iced over. It might have broken up by now because other lakes that I have seen since then are open.

I'm with everyone else on this. Too many scumbags out there setting up these type of accidents, then threatening to sue if you don't pay. Let the insurance company deal with it.

They're already out in the little open water that is between upper and lower. I know they are looking for crappie, but they must be hungry.LOL

I don't think Sturgeon is pressured as much as Pigeon and Scugog. So if you can find them you should do well. Those other lakes can get crazy trying to get on one of the spots.
