I don't say this lightly, but the shooter was dealt with appropriately, as should the remaining ones.
What a cowardly act to shoot someone that is not expecting to be attacked. Sure sounds like ISIS, but will wait for confirmation.
I would suggest continuing to donate to the United Way. Your donation stays local and assists many individuals. One in four people access a United Way funded program in your area Cliff. No reason to feel bad about those that beg on the side of the road. They know that there is a way to access assistance if they need it; they choose not to go that route for whatever reason. Food banks are also the way to help in your community as you have said. Take the safe route to help out and feel good about that. I know the people that access the United Way funded programs sure appreciate the assistance when required. I personally never give to those begging on the side of the road.
I went back to school in the early 90's when I was in my thirties to change careers due to a severe back problem and self employment not working out the way I had hoped. I have worked in the Social Service Work field for over 20 years now and I want to retire. LOL
I might have been better off taking an education in a different field, but that's the decision I made at the time. I had no problem finding employment at the time, but that is changing as I get older. The field has been good to me and it helped me pay off all of our debts including our mortgage, but I'm feeling I need a change again. I wouldn't have a problem with just my homestead needing me and my attention on a daily basis. I'm ready for the warmth of the south in the winter and there are so many lakes that I would like to fish before I'm gone from this earth. I have looked into going back to school to learn another profession, but something is holding me back; maybe it's the uncertainty or that my wife only works 3 days a week and we can't survive on her income alone. LOL
Okay, I admit that I'm not very tech savvy. But I have a question for those that administer this site. Is there not a way for the site to automatically adjust the size of the photos like it does on facebook?
I might be way out there but loading pictures onto facebook seems so easy compared to fishing forums. What's the difference? Why is there a size limit on this site?
I agree with Fisherman. They (WHO) made such a big deal about sars, yet they let people travel in and out of those African Countries with a simple questionnaire. Ebola kills most, so hopefully the vaccine works.
General Managers are their own worst enemies!!!!!! No wonder guys sign in places like Tampa, Nashville, Carolina, Columbus and Ottawa, they get oodles of $$$$ thrown at them, with no real expectations.
Those buggers can be tough. Fished all afternoon yesterday and we had one bite. This was it and it happened to be on my buddy's birthday. A smaller 35" fish, but at least we caught one. I never had a bite.
