Was back in there today. Couple of teen age girls went running through, trying to hide from their parents... GGeessh

Before: I cleaned up, and roped off a 10 x 20 area of the bush. Fit just in between some big trees. I only ended up having to cut down 2 small trees. After: It only took about 4 hours. Went together very easily. I just have to straighten it out a little, then anchor it down. I think I'm going to make my own anchors out of re-bar.
  4. There's no fish in Simcoe...
  5. Done deal by the sounds of it. Bell and Rogers both part owners of the leafs. This will be interesting
  6. Cougar hunting. My wife's christmass party saturday night is at 55 Special! Anyone from Barrie knows I'll be cougar hunting this weekend!! (once I get a few into my wife that is )
  7. I've said it before in similar posts. I don't donate money to random causes, no mater how great they may be. I donate my time as a volunteer to support my local community directly. That gives me way more warm and fuzzies then donating a toonie every time I check out.

    A Wee Rant #2

That's exactly what I was thinking. Chase, I don't mean to be an , but get with the program..
  9. That's was pretty cool. Lots of talent out there.
  10. My hunting partner used to be a member of an archery club in that area. I'll ask him, and see if they have a youth program. I'm pretty sure they do, his son was hard into the archery as a young lad. Edit: Just got off the phone with my buddy, it was York County Bowman.. He hasn't been a member for a while, so couldn't comment on their youth program. But he suggested you check out their website. Likely what Old Man post below. Good Luck eh!
  11. Nice job Simon. Good way to start off the season.
  12. Most people don't know this, but Ontario has several Volunteer SAR teams. I am very surprised I didn't get a call on this. The OPP must think they have things under control. Or the OPP officer in-charge has something against volunteers.. That happens a lot . The OPP is very very hesitant to call in volunteers, even if they are highly trained, and certified. Hey Billy Bob, volunteer firefighters in Ontario, at least the ones I've worked with, are not trained enough as they should be in Ground SAR. They are great in the water, and ice, but when it comes to bush whacking, not so much. Ontario is a little messed up when it comes to utilizing willing volunteers.
  13. Might be a touchy subject for some. Not me. Let people live the way they want to live.. That kid put it out there. Good for him.
  14. I`ve watched a bunch of that guys stuff. He really is pushing the boundaries.. Takes a lot of balls to do that!
  15. Congrets! I know some people in the area. I'll be sure to send them your way. Good luck, and don't let the stress get to you
  16. Dang Sinker. I'm envious! My season started off great. Lots of action. But hard to compare to past year because we where in a new blind, and trying some new tricks.. I shut er down at the end of October, because I'm to busy with the move. My next few weeks will be spent chasing deer on my new property. I didn't even get my duck blind on my boat this year I'll love to make it out with you next year, if you ever need an extra gun.
  17. No animals where injured during the making of this video.. I don't know much about horses, but it seems a little on the harsh side.
  18. I would still have my boat in the water, but I'm to busy with the move. I pulled the boat out a few months early. Usually when October rolls around, I mount the duck blind, and it doesn't come off till ice up.
  19. I love my work Christmas party. Open Bar. Everyone is always SO stressed out at my work, all the time. So when the party rolls around, we all get totally wrecked. I mean absolutely polluted. Everyone does.. Specially the president, and his wife.. The pictures are posted the folowing monday, and laughed over for the entire next year.. Free shuttles home, and we have it on a Saturday, so no excuse to miss work the next day! We've all been talking about it for months now.
  20. Wow.. I'll have to show that to the boys at work tomorrow. Nice fish..

That's thinking outside the box eh.. Thanks for the tips!
  22. Maybe where you are? I had mine done last year, plus a few extras, and it was under $100 for sure.

    Tent Garage

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I ended up buying the $200 10x20 garage. But I have to honestly say, I don't think it's going to last for a long time. The 3 main things that I've read which wreck these things it Wind, Snow, and UV. The place I'm storing it is the bush, with some good shade in the summer, and shelter from the wind. I'm thinking about adding some re-enforcement to the roof, and a few other things to extend the life. It should work out alright for what I need it for, as long as I stay on top of the maintenance.
