Self-Inflating air mattress... Please Help...
Carp replied to gone_fishin's topic in General Discussion
I'm not very familiar with these mattresses, but is it possible there may have to be a Co2 cartriage or similar item attached to it for inflation? -
Excellent ! A day on the water and some fish too.

I camped on Beusoliel Island near Honey Harbour last summer with the kids. We didn't run into any rattlers ourselves, but park wardens caught and moved 3 of them spotted by other campers. We saw them on their way to the warden's boat. Seems like this snake isn't so rare anymore. About 15 years ago, a few guys, including myself, were camped on a small island in a very remote area of Georgian Bay, just north of the Key River. Lots of channels around the many islands. We were running out of daylight and had to find a spot quickly to set up the tents. Although we didn't spot any snakes that night, the place was littered with them. Most were around the 2 foot mark in length. I don't remember hearing any rattles, but the snakes were very agressive. We cleaned a few small pike for lunch and the snakes were waiting for the scraps. Tossed skins, guts, etc. in the water near shore and the snakes were diving after them. Picked up the scraps and swam away. The next day, they must have sent out a singnal because there were about a dozen swimming around our boats and cuising the shoreline. We were paddling through a narrow, shallow channel between islands and a huge snake swim right under the boat. I could see it's head on one side of the boat and the tail on the other. Had to be 6 or 7 feet long and thick. This thing looked like it could swallow a racoon. I'd rather take my chances with the bear that was sniffing around our campsite. The big bruin swam across the channel towards us just after lunch. We all stretched out for a snooze. Good thing my dad heard him, or he would have walked right up to the guys napping in the sunshine after lunch. As soon as we turned in for the night, that bad boy came back. One of the guys heard a noise and looked out the tent window. Freaking bear was right outside the window messing up out camp. The bear didn't bother me. Snakes and other reptiles, especially poisonous or ones that want to take a bite of your flesh, .....well. Let's just say there weren't any return trips planned.

Think I've seen that site before, but thanks for reminding me.

Saddam Hussein was talking tough until the U.S threatened to send Chuck Norris to Iraq. Then Saddam hid in a hole and begged the U.S military to save him before Chuck showed up. A public hanging was much less painful.

I heard it was a nice area until they allowed some aviation type dude and his family to move in.

At least Joey goes fishing. My wife knows there's absolutely nothing on a fishing related website that I would ever buy for her. I just tell her I'm buying something and that's it. If she squawks, I remind her about the small fortune she spends on coffee.

Crappie are my favourite Ontario fish to eat. Walleye are a close second. Right now, my mouth is watering at the thought of that sweet, delicate white crappie meat, tantalizing the taste buds. Mmm, yummy !!! Way to go Jen. Glad to hear you're getting the youngsters out there too.

I have to admit you had me wondering for a bit. After reading your post title, I though you went to the nudie bar....again !!! Sweet pics TJ.

Well, I finally figured out how to post pics again, so here goes. I was out on the ice for the Tyler Charity Ice Tourney last weekend. It was nice to see so many familiar faces again. Always a great time. I had to scoot early, so I missed the festivities on shore. Unfortunately, the fish didn't co-operate for me, except for about a dozen perch. Strange to see so many perch hauled up from 75-80 ft. depths. I tossed back the first one, thinking it was a fluke. Then came the flurry, including a few double hook sets. The monsters of the deep. Big Chev 4x4 & Lady Walleye discussing strategy. Gerritt hard at work. Double hook set perch for him too. I think he landed a whitefish after I left. How big was it Shelley? DouG was trying to convince Percy's relatives to make the ultimate sacrifice for a good cause. My uncle Rick and cousin Andy made it out to join the fun too. Sunrise. Looking across the lake from tourney headquarters at Innisfil Park.

Bought a couple of reels yesterday. Wasn't worth waiting for the trade in to begin. At least not for me. I would have only saved ten dollars and take a chance the ones I wanted would be sold out.

Excellent job Wayne. You won't be disappointed if that mount ends up on your wall. The Advanced Taxidermy guys are old school friends of mine and have done many mounts for my friends and family. They are tops in their field.

Mouth of the big French girls on Georgian Bay? Yeah, that brings back a lot of memories. Sorry, couldn't resist. Seriously, I haven't been up there for a while myself and I don't think I ever fished that area in the spring. Some fantastic scenery though.

I don't feel so bad now. Passed by around 8pm for a bit. I don't know when they started charging for browsing? 20 minutes of looking at stuff I didn't really need cost me $220. Also looks like someone scooped a BPS gift card and my credit card at the cash. Had 'em in my hand, put everything on the counter for the cashier, then couldn't find the cards. Guy ahead of me seemed in a bit of a rush to leave. HMMM ??? Don't they have cameras in that store? I should call or pass by after they open in the morning and ask. Credit card has been taken care of, but the gift card could be lost. Can't remember if they ask for ID with the gift card? See Wayne, I'm multi-talented. I can lose more than just boat keys. Credit card & gift card at the same time. Now that's talent.

Hope she get a fined twice as much as she stole and a lengthy jail term should deter the next would be criminal. -
Always good to hear when the bad guys get theirs. Kudos to the OPP officer for recognizing the crime and contacting MNR CO's.

Walter was the big trout being pursued by Henry Fonda's character in the movie "On Golden Pond". Not sure what kind of trout it was.

Have you tried Rapala ? Give them a shout and ask if these lures/colours are still available and if they can be ordered through the nearest distributor to your location.

Now that I think about it, whenever I know I'm going fishing, I always seem to be in an amourous mood. (before and after) + = more I was never a great math student, but this equation seems about right to me. This girl needs to find something else to draw attention to herself. How about running through the streets naked? The bait shops will be packed the next day.

It was a pleasure to participate and see so many familiar faces. Glad I could be a part of it. Unfortunately, I had to scoot home early to get my son to his hockey game. Hope to see everyone again at the same event next year. Great job MO.
