  1. Thanks for the pics and report. Some sweet fish. 660 feet of line dosen't surprise me. Not all of them do that, but it's certainly a rush when you get one that does. They don't have big tails just for looks. Awesome power.
  2. Sweet pic ! I've heard of bald eagles snatching 10 lb. pike out of the water, but have never seen any bird of prey do this myself.
  3. Sounds good for the first day. Congrats on the 23 lber.
  4. Thanks for the laugh bud.
  5. Another fine report Johnny B.
  6. You do whatcha gotta do to keep customers walking through the doors. They certainly won't get any complaints about this outfit from me.
  7. You can only be young once... but you can be immature forever!!! AMEN !!!
  8. If it slows 'em down, why not. They work for free too.
  9. I always have everything required and always adhere to the regulations. Nothing for me to worry about. I think it's great that they are making themselves seen often. I'd like to see higher fines for fish limit and fishing license infractions. Also sanctuary violations. A few more officers would be great. In my opinion, there should be twice as many CO's as they have now.
  10. Time to find a job within walking distance from home.
  11. Sounds like a great idea. Had my 2 oldest (6 & 8) out on L. Simcoe just over a week ago. Thought it was best to have them fish with a float rather than off bottom. That way they didn't have to hold the rod and concentrate so much. Kids love watching that float go under. We hooked over 100 perch in the same spot. I only caught about 10 because most of my time was spent baiting hooks and casting lines. They had a blast.
  12. Definitely lots of action for you on this trip. Excellent.
  13. Welcome to our OFC family Aaron (simko). A great place to learn, get info & just plain hang out. Sorry. Can't help with the east Bull Lake thing. Never fished it.
  14. Welcome to our OFC family youngvedder. (Pearl Jam fan ???) Looks like a great spot, but I've never fished it myself. Hopefully, one day I'll get around to that part of Ontario's paradise.
  15. My guess is that it's a young bull moose. I have a similar set of antlers from a moose I got a few years ago.
  16. Excellent day on the water for you.
  17. Good one Chris. Do they tug hard ??? Ditto. Lake Ontario is number one on my list. Georgian Bay has to be second, followed by Simcoe & the Kawarthas.
  18. I actually get the flyer delivered in my mail box, but it's always nice to go through it again online. Nice for the folks who haven't seen it yet. Thanks Fang
  19. Despite the weather, you stuck it out & had some action. Excellent !!! Thanks for the report Johnny.
  20. Great report and pics Mike. Thanks for sharing,
  21. Hey, being exited about a fishing trip is cool dude. I'd be exited too. Good luck and don't forget the camera.
  22. If this property has been trespassed on before (by the sounds of it, numerous times by various anglers), I find it hard to believe the owner didn't have the property posted. There's only so many times a person can stand hearing the same excuses. "Didn't see any signs." "Thought it was public land." Oooops! Sorry. If the property was posted, which I would tend to believe it was, the signs were probably torn down by poachers/trespassers to support their feeble excuses. Although I don't agree with shooting the trespassers, the owner doesn't know how mentally stable these people are. It would be unwise to confront someone without a viable means of defense. Seems like laws here in Canada protect criminals more than victims. This case should serve as a warning those who trespass & steal. The owner should have stayed out of sight any called police immediately. The pair could have been charged with theft/poaching and trespassing. That alone would probably be enough to keep them from visiting the pond again.
  23. That's very cool Cliff. I'd love to see a Cougar strolling around without a caged enclosure around it. I think they're a very majestic creature.
  24. Congrats on finally figuring out the whities.
  25. Big Cliff is always a gracious host. What a guy. Haven't had the pleasure of meeting Sue yet, but hopefully I'll have the opportunity soon. Great to hear your fishing trip went well. It's always nice when the little ones get into fish. Kids have a blast with panfish and the odd walleye doesn't hurt either. Thanks for sharing you story & pics.
