  1. WOW, an extra 7 grand deduction on my income tax just for being 65, between that and income splitting the tax bill is half of what it would be if I went to work and earned it.

  5. They sure didn't show up to play today
  6. Yeah, that could be a problem. I was on a summer job doing a woodlot survey for the Dept of Lands and Forests, they put us up in a cottage on the Briar's Country Club and we got to eat at the club house on the gov't tab, so we got to fish the golf course property, best summer job I had
  7. You could be right , I seem to recall a sanctuary for a time on the Black to protect Pickeral during their spawning season, are there even any pickerel left in Simcoe? Like you can't seem to find it either, thought it was below a dam ? Edit: My bad, it was the Pefferlaw that had the sanctuary I recalled from Hwy 48 to the dam in town. At least that one is still on the books.
  8. R.I.P. Lonnie , with probably 2 of the best Telecaster players ever.
  9. RIP guitar great Lonnie Mack http://www.guitarworld.com/artist-news/pioneering-guitarist-lonnie-mack-dead-74/29020
  10. Long ago I spent a summer in Jackson's Point doing survey work for the old Dept of lands and Forests, if you can find access to the Black River in Jackson's Point or Sutton you can catch just about anything there, also, but not for kids maybe, if you want to do some bushwacking I got a lot of specs in the upper Pefferlaw Creek.
  11. As a kid (50's 60's) , neighbour was a market gardener with a fairly large green house for starting plants. He collected rain water for green house use, it was all gravity fed, you wouldn't need the water tanks elevated very much over the height of the garden. Edit: I'm thinking drip irrigation and soaker hoses rather than sprinklers which would require more pressure and are less efficient.
  12. I still remember the 2 game wardens back when I first got a hunting licence in 1965 in the old Welland County, Roy Muma and Cec McKeown , real gentlemen, they were of an age that they were probably WW II vets. Edit : oh and it wasn't the MNR back then , it was the Dept Of Lands and Forests, I actually worked a couple of contracts for them while they were under that name.
  13. That area is hidden by the knee brace inside, could maybe the rivets for the knee brace be leaking on the bottom and not the seam?
  14. Why outboarddecals dot com of course http://www.outboarddecals.com/
  15. Yeppers, most often the 9.9 and the 15 are the same engine, the 9.9 is just a detuned 15.
  16. Google does not track your every move , I searched for stainless steel flame plates for my BBQ as they are rusting away and everywhere I go for the last 3 days I'm seeing ads for BBQ's,accessories and parts. Edit; if you have an Android Tablet, Google pretty well owns your soul. Last tablet I got for my wife on boxing day sales is a Windows 10 Lenovo with a detachable keyboard, cool, it is a tablet or a mini laptop. I put Kodi on it and it is now a portable TV and I can Miracast to the big one in the livingroom too.
  17. Hit 80 F here at 3:30 pm, last weekend there was snow

  18. DITTO I updated my laptop from Windows 8 to 10 as soon as it was available last fall, hated 8 as well..... made it look like a tablet , now my older desktop is still running Windows 7 and will be until they force my hand.
  19. Local club had a one day derby out of Jordan, yesterday. Winning fish was a 17 pound laker. Kings are still deep waiting for warmer water, before moving in.
  20. Kim Simmonds has still got it in this fairly recent video
  21. Kim Simmonds is a very under rated guitarist Long intro but a unique rendition of a classic
  22. WOW, flashback, saw them in 73 on a triple bill with "Savoy Brown" and Stan Webbs "Chicken Shack" at the old smoke filled Massey Hall . One of the best concerts I've attended.
  23. My Canada died about 20 years ago , just puttin in time till I'm gone too, should have been born 20 years earlier. edit : the 80's were the last decade worth living
