  1. One rod or stick with a Williams 1/2 and 1/2 on bottom, and another dead sticking a white/silver fleck tube 15-20ft off bottom. Another stick with a meegs in the ATV for back-up.
  2. i can honestly say that I don't own one single dress shirt or golf style shirt. lol Yet...I have a closet full of t-shirts - go figure.
  3. Merry Christmas Brian. Hope we can hook up on the ice this year to test out the new R-Type rods!
  4. A great Christmas present not only for you and your family, but for the dog as well!! Congrats!
  5. I don't think there's a person on this board who'd ever say "it's only a dog". My condolences on your loss. You did the right thing by putting your best fishin' bud at peace. It's one of the toughest descisions that I had to make 6mth ago but as they say, time heals all. Just remember the little pooch and all the outtings you had.
  6. My oldest boy who is 19 now used to love fishing with me, until school, work and girls came into the picture. lol I'm sure he'll turn around once his university is done. My youngest boy who is 14 totally loves going out with me whether it be on the ice, in a boat, on the shore or in the canoe. I'm sure he'll also go through "a stage" but I'm sure it'll just be a passing fad. I was the same way to an extent when I was in my late teens, early 20's....especially with being a dad at such a young age(20). Now I spend as much time fishing with my dad and my son as I possibly can. Once a fisherman, always a fisherman. Cheers, Colin
  7. A very sad anniversary post by a very proud father. You had to do what every parent dreads and that makes you just as tough as your son. Thanks for posting that awesome tribute, Lew!
  8. I'd also take a graph type finder over a flasher any day. You can tell a lot from just a little bit of history on the screen.
  9. Yep....Gorilla glue and a few brads will fix 'er right up.
  10. Here's a pictures of Ozzy's dad. I think there's a resemblance.
  11. LOL..I like it too! I got that hydrant from Base Borden in Angus about 10 yrs ago from the water/sewer crew. They were going around replacing all the older ones and I was making sure they didn't dig up our fibre optic cables so they offered it to me. I also got one for my dad as well.
  12. Well, here's our new family member. Introducing "Ozzy" our Victorian Bulldog. He's quite the little ham with lots of attitude and personality. Looking forward to years of fun and companionship from him. One blue eye and one brownish green. Whew...luckily I installed that fire hydrant in the yard!! LOL Thanks for all the name ideas.........it came down to Hank and Ozzy. My youngest boy made the choice since my oldest boy named my late dog Domi 14yrs ago. Only fair I thought. Colin
  13. That is one awesome shot Bill! I wish I had a camera like yours to capture the Osprey I see every morning "fishing" while bass fishing in the Kawaratha during the summer!
  14. Awesome catches!!! You know it's big when you need to "bear-hug" it to take a picture!!! Congrats!
  15. Sorry guys..forgot to update this. We were able to do the job with a recip. saw. lol Not as neat but it did the job. I can't believe there isn't a 24hr Home Depot or Walmart in the GTA. lol Oh well. Rizzo.....a dremel is like a dentist drill kinda. Small drill which spins at like 15,000 RPM. You can attach cutting wheels, sanding discs, buffing wheels etc.....hobbyists use them. We needed one last night to cut apart one of our fibre optic cable enclosures.......a job which was dumped on us at the last second. lol Cheers guys! Colin
  16. Does anyone know where there's a 24hr walmart or home depot in the GTA (Toronto, markham, mississauga)???? I need a dremel tool for work asap. Thanks, Colin
  17. I had a wood stove in my permanent hut when I had one and it was nice....but instead of wood, I used those Java Logs that you can pick up at any grocery store. I picked them up when they were on sale. They did the trick. In my portable Clam type huts that I use now I use a Mr.Heater propane heater. They definately heat 'em up great but it's not a dry heat like the wood stove I found. For your huge "palace" I'd say go with a woodstove. Much more versatile in your situation. Cheers, Colin
  18. That's so awesome!!!I love taking my youngest out on the water.
  19. I picked up 3 new Rapala R-Type ice rods, a few spools of the new 832 sufix ice braid and a sack full of different spoons, jigs and flouro from my buddy at Normark. Oh, I also got a new puppy to keep the little lady occupied. hahaha Other then these things, I'm all ready to go. All we need now is some cold weather and no wind to freeze up Lady Simcoe!
  20. Awesome vid! Well done. You guys have an amazing fishery out that way!!
  21. While on my way home from work this morning, I did see a glimmer of hope as I crossed over the Holland River bridge in Bradford. I think you all know what I'm talkin' 'bout!
  22. Very sorry about your loss. Those are some great pictures you posted of your dad. Colin
