  1. Walmart has them near the fishing aisle.
  2. No problem. I'm guessing 99% of them don't obey the max 40km/hr sign on the road there.
  3. I was probably one of those ATV's zipping by the lodge on the weekend. lol There are tons of trails just past the lodge. You can ATV right around the entire lake, head to the petroglyphs(spelling) near Stoney Lake, or just cruise around on many other trails. If you keep driving past the lodge....maybe 15 mins or so, you'll notice some main hydro lines crossing the road. Turn onto the hydro right of way and you're onto some awesome trails.
  4. That's awesome! Unfortunately both my grampas have past but I spend every weekend with Dad fishing Jacks Lake. Every morning at 7am without fail he's bangin' on my window saying "I'll be down at the boat". lol
  5. Yes.....walleye, musky, small and largies, crappy and lakers.......although the lakers are few and far btwn. I personally saw a 14lb'er caught there this year.
  6. Glad you guys had fun on a great lake. I've been going up there since I was 4yrs old. I have a trailer over at Jacks Lake TRailer park and fish there and ATV there every weekend. Lot's of awesome spots to fish.
  7. I "won" my money back last year. But......about 10 or so years ago my buddy won the early bird prize. A Porsche 911, $25,000 and a 2 week trip to Australia.
  8. lol....true, I guess enough butter, garlic and spices would kill any taste. heehee
  9. Love the first pic.....those perch are as big as the 'eyes! Awesome outtings!
  10. I would say a nice 2-3lb'er maybe......but not a big greaser like the one you're holding......blah!
  11. Great flick!! My boy and I are watching right now as well. heehee
  12. Thanks for that.....never heard of that term before. I thought one of those was a favour from your mechanic buddy. heehee
  13. I'm still trying to figure out what a "Fly by sticker" is.
  14. Give these guys a call. Usually have good pricing. Trans Canada Wood Products - Barrie Colin
  15. I just got back from 2 weeks of kawartha fishing. The Abu Verdict/Abu Revo combo was spooled with 50lb Sufix 832 to try it out. I really have no complaints other then my reel is all green from the dye coming off. I was happy with the performance especially the casting distance. Also, kinda weird but I found that it wasn't as noisy as PPro when reeling in a fish. I'd buy it again for sure but I am partial to PPro. Cheers, Colin
  16. Check out walmart.....they sell a backroads mapbook which shows atv trails, backroads, back lakes....etc. I think it's about $30.
  17. I'll be fishing Jack's Lake in the Kawarthas as always.
  18. I have a trailer in Jack's Lake Tent & Trailer Park on Jack's Lake. I've been camping there for over 30yrs. My yearly fees are $1800/yr whick includes hydro. There are extra fees for extra fridges, a/c units, docks but they aren't outrageous.......maybe $30-$50/yr more for each "extra". I also pay and extra $100 to have my trailer winterized which is guaranteed by the owners. I love the park because everyone knows everyone, no gates, great owners, very good fishing, dirt roads in park, lots of places to ATV....etc.
  19. Absolutely not. That's why they have the regs in plain print and online and in several different languages. Do I know EVERY single species, slot sizes, limits and seasons out there?? Definitely not, but I do know all the particulars for the body or water, area and species that I will be fishing for at any given time. I strongly agree with many people on here who said the penalties should be far more severe then they are........and that comes down to an enforcement issue, not only from the CO's, but from the courts as well. In my opinion, the only reasons for not "obeying" the law is pure ignorance and complete disregard FOR the law(s).
  20. I also noticed the green residue on my Revo STX and hands this weekend. Other then that, I was impressed with it's performance. I'll definitely be picking up a few more spools.
  21. Sturgeon for freshwater and a Great White shark for saltwater.
  22. I agree with Roy......all of those will work. Don't forget a few spinners as well. They'll cast a good ways and are great for gaters.
  23. My 2 buddies played in Megadeth. (drummer and guitarist). The guitarist has since left the band but the drummer is still going strong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX6UjWMffaY&playnext=1&list=PL064D09DFA0CFAA25
  24. I just did some research on it and I think the camp is some sort of resort now. We had a blast there doing add jobs around the area for the MNR.....cleaning portages, cleaning dumps, planting trees, etc. The fishing was great there. I remember being amazed at the amount of pike in the area. You could pretty much toss out an old boot on the end of your line and they would hammer it! LOL I'll try to dig out some old pics and scan them.
