Thanks everyone ive read they go deep however like a few of you stated I don’t know if they’ll move out into the current i mean... I’m fishing 15’ weedlines all year till ice up for walleye with all sorts of techniques includingtrolling cranks... casting swimbaits... jigs... blades... harnesses... tubes... and live bait and we never catch largies deeper than 10’ i have ave a bunch of time off coming up and I think it’s worth a few hours to give it a try...I have an arena that was just full of bass so I’ll start there and work outwards thanks

Hey gang This year I put some serious time into bass fishing for the first time since I was a kid and had a lot of fun doing it Even though the next 6 weeks are my walleye prime time season... i was thinking about getting out one last time for largies either this weekend or next I was primarily flipping/punching floating mats of weeds lodged in reed beds on the st lawrence river all summer and into September... what I’m wondering is... would those fish still hold in those same reed beds under mats this late in the year? 2-5’ of water? Water temps are <50 degrees now I have read largies move deep in colder water but I catch em ice fishing in under 10 feet while crappie fishing all winter so I don’t know what to think I think I’m gunna try either way but looking for insight from those who have targeted largemouth this late in the year thanks

Likely not due to bait in the water... anglers look for bait to find feeding fish that being said in my experience at nigh color choice is critical... clown or bright UV paints are the ticket second... baits that vibrate... cranks or spinners are the ultimate for me after dark... they will outfish live bait due to the vibrations

NOCO GEN2 not fully charging batteries?
mike rousseau replied to Raycaster's topic in General Discussion
For me I’d say your batteries are on their way out I use cheap batteries and I only get 3 full seasons mine are also 2016 batteries so this is their third season im starting to see minor charging issues (similar to whatbyoure describing) but still making it through a day of fishing easily so I’ll finish the season and get 2 new ones next spring -
In all seriousness I hope they pulled the footage of his many go pro cameras he was likely running at the time to see what he was wearing including PFD

Just got one set up today got a Canadian tire MAXIMUM 20v brushless drill on sale today and the little $15 fitting to connect to my 6” fin bor III I charged it up and tested it tonight 20 holes in 18” of ice on the 2ah battery they come with with the 2 batteries charged I doubt I’ll ever run outta juice and holy hell if it bites that drill kicks so pay attention!!!! i have the extra handle on (hammer drill handle?) and it helped a lot too... I imaging drilling 20-40 holes without it would cause wrist pains

Humminbird are the easiest simplest units I have used I have had a boat over 10 years and bought/sold used 4-5 hummingbirds and they were all great I currently use a Humminbird 999 and 788 you might be able to find an old model on clearance -

I usually try to find someone to fish with cause I enjoy spending time with Friends and family and I believe we have limited opportunities in life to do so that being said... the days everyone is busy and I can’t find a fishing partner I do enjoy the peace and quiet of fishing alone when fishing alone I tend to learn the most... experiment with new techniques... try new spots... etc...

I’m pretty sure I have the same ones love em super warm and comfy like slippers not very supportive for walking though if I gotta hike I use gore Tex Rocky boots

Boat away for the winter: full gas tank or empty?
mike rousseau replied to KawarthaAngler's topic in General Discussion
I was told gas loses octane levels over time... I was told stabilizar helps keep octane levels -

For me fall walleye goes from 53 degrees down to say 38 degrees And look at it like a bell curve... 53 I get action and fall patterns are getting going... say 45-50 is smoking action with numbers and size... 45 and below it slows and bite windows get really small but the fish are big
