  1. I'll never talk down about a retailer for not discounting they're merchandise enough for my liking... the price is the price... Hard to run a successful business giving 50% off top selling products every weekend They offer free shipping almost all the time on orders of $99 and it's rare I can't find a decent deal in the bargain cave And can't say enough about their customer service To each their own
  2. braid on most of my rods... power pro I use mono for panfish and trolling musky only
  3. Sounds funny but mine was installed backwards from the dealer Idled great then stalled when opened up and ball collapsed There's an arrow on the ball and it should point at the motor
  4. For me on the river here trolling is more effective but casting or jigging is more fun If I have to catch I troll

  14. Hello I'm looking for recommendations based on experience if possible Looking to take the family on a little trip this year Basically not really fussy Looking for a little cheap cabin on a lake that looks nice and has a few fish in it Probably take my boat so a dock would be nice Taking a 4 & 6 year old so some kid friendly stuff would be great too I'm looking to stay within 2 hours of home so let's say within 1 hour of Ottawa or Montreal Thanks for your help
  15. Good evening I managed to get out fishing recently and I was lucky enough to find some nice perch to kick off open water season It took us about 2 hours of searching before we caught a fish and located a school... the next 4 hours after that would turn out to be the best 4 hours of perch fishing I can ever remember experiencing The average size we were catching was phenomenal and literally 4/5 fish were keepers... I'd say about half our catch was 11-12" range and the pig of the day was a whopping 14" fish We finished up with 80 in the box between the 2 of us and both our families were pleased with a fresh feed for everyone We were targeting shallow flats from 4-8 feet of water with slip floats and small plastics (that's right... NO BAIT lol)... the key was finding how shallow they had moved up the bank and then next was locating old weed growth We were giggling like little kids we had so much fun Thanks Mike
  16. Hey everyone So after far too much procrastinating I just purchased an auto inflatable PFD They're on sale at Cabelas Canada with free shipping as well... so I decided to pull the trigger and get one This will give me and my family better peace of mind... especially during the colder months I just wanted to share the deal for anyone looking http://www.cabelas.ca/product/83316/cabelas-tournament-3500-auto-pfd
  17. I would assume the sub in is good as the original guides business and reputation is on the line That being said if your having second thoughts then I'd cancel... if you don't and it's tough fishing you'll be blaming the replacement guide and you'll be bitter
  18. I leave the vent open at all times Regular gas so far has been fine... I do run stabilizer and sea foam from time to time for peace of mind Unless I'm fishing a tournament ( like 50- 60 miles in a day) or trolling musky all day (4-6mph for 8+ hours) the portable is just fine If I know I'm doing a monster day I have some 1 gallon tanks I can put in my storage compartments or just put em in my splash well to pour into the main part way through the day... again this is only when I know I'm gunna run hard for 10-12 hours or I'm in a tournament
  19. I run a 50hp 4s on a portable Full day no issues unless I'm running all over like an idiot (happens sometimes lol)
  20. Same with lake st Francis Can use them on one side and not the other
  21. I'm starting to think I might be better off grinding down my blade on my current knife...
