how do I store spinner rigs/worm harnesses?
Terry replied to northernpike56's topic in General Discussion
I thought you were going to tell me how to store them, not ask the question how to store spinner rigs/worm harnesses implies you know how do you store spinner rigs/worm harnesses is a question even how to store spinner rigs/worm harnesses? would help I am not putting you down or complaining just pointing out how many times I go to a thread and by the subject expect one thing , only to find it is something else..... -
well I often see bass still on their beds when season opens, now a week earlier, I will be some on their beds every year....good...bad or who care......I don't know muskie there are people who really like the other white meat and do make a point of keep muskie to eat sometimes I think it would be better to let them keep a small one rather then killing a 54" muskie to eat...but who knows

Making a combo Electric Planer Board & Dwn Rigger
Terry replied to RSF's topic in General Discussion
ok maybe I am not following the info right downrigger goes on the back of the boat has heavy steel cable planerboard mast has string/vinyl rope and goes on the front of the boat in the middle of the front deck many people will run a downrigger for deep fish and a planerboard for shallow, at the same time how would all the function if it was one unit or am I missing something -
I think you would be better off looking at garage sales for a real used fishfinder I think a string with a weight on the end would give you more info then cheap finders

so as long as you don't panic(I am sure most people wouldn't panic) as long as there is no undertow as long as there are no big rocks to beat you up or know you out, tree to get stuck under or a major waterfalls to fall over ( note to self, don't fish on the high side of Niagara falls) your good to go and enjoy the trip down the river LO got it

675 Russian fishermen rescued from drifting ice floe
Terry replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
wonder if they have to pay for rescue services -
Wonder if the pool you jumped in had a current to pull you down stream or an undertow to flow into your waders to drag you down... You see, it's just basic physics. your waders in clam water is not a problem but in a fast flowing river they became a driftsock, a parachute and same for taking them off while still in the water..try it in a current..... of course if you have the openings completely closed it would not be an issue just saying, life doesn't always work out as school teaches us

you have done more then enough for her I think if you do more for her, you will really be doing it for your own peace of mind not hers it was not your fault you feel bad about the dog...time to move on oh and check your vehicle for damage, she will be responsible for damage, not you....

yup at the fly-ins and drive-in fishing trips I have been on, when they have a Naden boat or two, they are always the most requested boat..so people request the other boats like crestliner or lund but when they see the naden in action they want to use one of them we try to get one every time..just so much more stable and drier then any of the other boats

again every day this icefishing season on simcoe people were reporting the ice onsafe so again does that mean no one should have been on simcoe all year and if they were on simcoe anytime during the season they were morons... the only difference that day was the wind..and if there was no wind they would not have a problem...... I don't have a problem with them being charged, but I think most activities that have some danger should be charged for rescue... so by your logic No but what about driving in the fog with your eyes closed at 200 mph, and not pay for the rescue you are saying I can break the law and speed as long as I keep my eyes open..(the fishermen did not break any laws) again hut rental operators had huts out when unsafe ice reports were being made cops , who by the way have less expertize on ice conditions then the average fisherman so we have it right you are saying every time anyone reports unsafe ice, people should say off it.... well maybe if we have an expert do the reports...
-
well I think they will have to give us a pay scale for rescue, just so we know..so we can decide if it is worth the risk before we do things.. ice fishing....200 a rescue downhill skiing ..sure you know people get hurt and have to be rescued snowmobiling yup every year rescuers have to go into the bush and rescue them so atving too hunting yup hiking oh yeah far more people rescued the icefishing paintballing sure camping could be bungee jumping....no that seems perfectly safe..so that should be a free rescue..LOL now driving in the fog...every foggy day people get rescued from their cars...bill them rain snow ice ..not safe bill them and just for the record, every day this icefish season, such as it was, the ice on simcoe was reported unsafe... so how could businesses have huts out if it was deemed unsafe and if it is deemed unsafe should there be a law that makes it illegal to go on the ice.... so what was my point I don't know I rambled so much I forgot LOL if icefishing rescue is billed then almost all rescues should be billed....is driving in the fog any safer then fishing on the ice...
