  1. Lakes are still completely ice covered in the Parry Sound area with only the area's of incoming streams open . Actually seen someone ice fishing today on Lake Manitouwabing (20 km NE of Parry Sound)
  2. I have one piece aluminum ramps and they have a bit of an angle to them so the bike levels out when entering the bed of the truck , works great . Can't remember who makes them but I got them at TSC and they always go on sale there so have an eye out !
  3. Those are some impressive pictures Lew .That is an "angry" river right there ! Looks a little worse then last years pictures.
  4. Thanks for the update , glad my back country trip isn't planned until the second week of May. One good thing is no chance of black flies and it will be perfect timing for the lake trout bite !
  5. Beautiful pup you have there . They sure are a handful for the first year but well worth it .
  6. Nice report and great pictures , love the laker reports . You know from my experience the wild lake trout do fight harder
  7. Ya , not a chance !
  8. I'm pretty sure I tried to get some of that grease last year Drifter but was unable to find it . Could only order it in a full box which was around $100 and 10 tubes . I will start looking around some more this week and see if I can find some , thanks !
  9. I just bought a triton atv trailer last year and it has the bearing buddies on it , so far so good . What grease do you guys use , anything special ?
  10. I didn't know TJ had a van , bowl looks great . Hilarious
  11. Nice lakers Steve , looks like you had a good year to me
  12. Epic Moose , thanks for taking the time in putting that report together for us
  13. That is a telling graph for sure Jedi . I was going to say I have a couple friends in the Parry Sound area as well as Algonquin and they told me that as of last week there had not been a bit of melting and there was still 28" of ice on local lakes and a bush snow pack of 24"-30" . If they get a quick melt up there the river dwellers better start building an ark !
  14. Nice , Great looking fish . That is quite the fishery down there
  15. I too drove by the Nicolston dam in Alliston yesterday and yes , it was flowing pretty good . One thing I can tell you guys that I have noticed is the snow pack north/west of Alliston is still substantial compared to north/east of Alliston . This area is the head waters to the Pine , Boyne and the Notty so it will definitely get a lot worse in the coming week with some rain and warmer temps. Down stream lookout !!!
  16. That's a great story , well done
  17. That made me laugh I actually remember that episode of the little rascals !
  18. Great report there Bill , looks like your pops schooled ya !!! I love sitting over bass and jigging them out of deep water , great pattern for me in late summer/early fall on my lakes .
  19. I like Bill's idea but to avoid all the bull you should call the MNR and let them deal with it !
  20. Way to go CK , Nice bows !
  21. Those are some nice browns , beautiful fish ! Like Joey said glad to see the soft water reports start to come in
  22. Sorry to hear this , definitely one of the hardest things to deal with especially with it being so sudden .
  23. I frequent that area quite a bit but have never fished Whitstone . I have heard the fishing is not bad and there is a good population of crappies in there so I have been told . I do know that there is a small bait shop right in Dunchurch that will probably give you some good info.
  24. I'm not sure but one thing for certain if we don't start getting some heat around here like yesterday Algonquin Park lake ice will be tighter then a drum for that first week of opening at least . My laker trip is not planned till the end of May so we should be alright .One good thing the black flies wont be around till the end of May this year as well
