you hit the nail on the head Sinker, PEI, Cape Breton etc are great, but NFLD is another world, don't miss it we went jigging for cod in Rocky Harbour with Frank Snow, reasonable price, lots of fish, it was a blast

nice fish and nice sportspal, a great back-lake boat

My wife was working Friday, I had it off, perfect chance to search for brookies and splake. A quick look over the maps and I was on my way. Plan A- only 300m down the access road, a washout, they got the culvert in but hadn't back filled it yet. That was the end of Plan A Plan B- about 4km in, another road closed I pressed my luck, and tried anyways. There was some nasty areas and my 2 wheel drive was at risk of getting stuck finally made it to the lake, it felt good to be in the canoe again and on the portages no fish caught, but a great day, I had a shower that morning and was eaten alive by the blackflies all day, even on the water Cam, Mac, Carston and me went searching out back lakes for future trips once bass season opens here's shorelunch without the shore I think we'll make the trip back here in a few weeks, it looked awesome shorelunch with the shore this time heading back, getting home well after dark, Carston has a great retro mullet, his next haircut for the summer will be an Apache some other pics from the weekend this is from Gull Lk, the flood has the lake littered with all kinds of debris, docks and chairs washed up everywhere Mike (Solopaddler) Borger may recognize this place not my most interesting report, thanks for checking it out

Bass Pro has cheap Tracker Jon boats for less than $700 new, PM me if you're thinking about this option and I can give you some pros and cons, I have one

your great grand kids will be still using that thing, it'll run forever
-
Lebarons, give them a call first though, they said they will only get a limited #

The Yukon is magical, you're lucky to have a month up there. post a report when you're back, I would love to read it realistically, there's millions if not billions of man-hours spent in the bush per bear attack, brown bears do make me more nervous, black bears I'm used to and sleep soundly in my tent without a worry I'd say a short barrel shotgun would be the best, it's amazing how easy it is to miss a target when it's moving and you're panicking I've got 3 1/2", 00 buckshot, for my 887, thats 15 big pellets in there, I never bother lugging it around here in ON though

yeah, I'll try to remember that, keep eyes open! darn!

if you think that's a great goalie you're about as hockey smart as John Ferguson Jr., aside from the Leafs being faster/ more skilled, a great help to make it to game 7 was the BBs being half asleep from game 2 to game 6.5 I love the ReimMinister, seems like a great kid, but he's average
-
after watching 7 games, we are the better team, faster, more skilled, but lacking a great goalie watching the handshake crap, I think our young guys have fire in their eyes, if they would play again now- lookout! the BBs aren't going far, slow, out of shape, goons, hopefully the NYRs make them look stupid
-
yeah, I hear ya Roy, we're not getting any younger, we should appreciate what we have today some threads got a little ugly and off track and eventualy locked down, but a big part of OFC for me is common guys/ gals chatting about fishing and politics/ hockey/ music/ or whatever caught their eye that day edit- I'm definately not a veteran on this site, but the newer people on here are great, to name a few I like to read- Locnar, Christopher K, Tayzak15, Twocoda, there's many more too
-
not that I agree with their opinions most of the time, where's Sinclair and Billy Bob? I enjoyed the friendly banter with these guys and enjoyed reading their posts even though I would be gritting my teeth often can anybody think of any other members MIA?
-
I'd say drive the 40 min further up 144 and try Halfway PP and the lakes around there
-
nice jersey Dan, here's mine from an older Leaf captain hopefully the Bruins are still asleep tonight and the Leafs can eke out a win

satellite pics show Ramsey, Bisco., Indian have been open for awhile (no ice) post a report when you get back, I would love to read it

2 small outboard problems...need help
chris.brock replied to bow slayer's topic in General Discussion
you probably already knew this, but just in case, when checking for spark, the plug has to be grounded for it to spark, when you pull the motor over, have the metal threads of the plug laying on/ contacting the cylinder head -

from the satellite pics, it looks like you'll be fine, most lakes wide open, a little ice on Nighthawk, Abitibi is covered but looking close to melting -
from the satellite pics today, Temagami is wide open and ice free

I run my hot tub without a filter, no problems, mine has a little screen for water entering the heater there maybe a little more suspended stuff in the water, but my filters are $80 a pop, so I don't bother with it, oh yeah, I'm always looking for ways to save a few $$$
-
Crappy Tire, Wally, LeBarons, Bass Pro I have a cheap one ($80) and I'm quite happy with it, I use it more for wildlife viewing than hunting or security I did have 1 stolen, I noted the footprints, it looked like a guy and a young kid (father and son?) we have a guy snooping around our cottage stealing fire wood and empty beer cans etc., we know who it is, I thought about using the trail cam to photo him, but I also thought if he's sniffing around after dark, and sees a flash go off, he's going to make an effort to get rid of the evidence and my trail cam, just a thought
