  1. Have you looked at Subaru Foresters? Also 4 cylinder, great interior space, and similar in size/price to a rav4. Better crash scores. Not as fun to drive though.
  2. Live pike in a tank?
  3. I really doubt someone is farming northern pike and selling them to supermarkets.
  4. and largies and pike?
  5. would be really surprised if you could sell live ones in a tank. Call the MNR.
  6. I actually didn't mind Ignatieff. When there was an opportunity to topple the gov't a year or two ago by unifying the opposition.....he didn't do it. Opportunity was there, and he was in many ways the most powerful man in parliament....but he didn't use it, because he didn't think ti was the right thing to do. I agree with him. Jack Layton wanted to. In fact, he wanted to unify with the BQ. Beware what you get with Jack Layton, fellas. Don't trust the man at all. All that said, really happy we got a conservative majority. Finally a gov't that can actually DO something.
  7. Even better was Seth Meyers' follow-up....
  8. Well, when you take the test at the booth, don't the pretty girls issuing the test help with answers? As far as i can tell anyone can pass the test with 25 bucks in hadn (or however much it costs to take the thing).
  9. Not sure it was conceived with this in mind, but it is entirely about revenue collection now. Nothing at all about educating or testing competency.
  10. Apparently landowners do own the land under the water (was new to me, but read this on other threads here last year). No idea how to find out if/how/who....but apparently it does happen sometimes.
  11. Have a highlander and am a big fan. Its tow rating is nowhere near an expedition, but its a good family vehicle with solid size and fuel economy.
  12. My nightmare. Poison ivy is my achilles heel. Terribly allergic to the stuff.
  13. how big is the patch? Organic - boiling water or vinegar. Could also just dump some limestone on it. Or, talk to a farmer about getting some agricultural herbicide.
  14. If you're going to take the time to write about it on a messageboard, you should take the time to call in and report her.
  15. Maybe I'm old school, but i don't think its a bad thing if people have to do a bit of work and research to find little-known lakes. Makes it worthwhile and rewarding. The little lakes I walk into are treasures because they're not well-known...not sure I like that any jamoke who can run a google search gets the same info in 3 seconds.
  16. What's the story?
  17. I don't think anyone believes 1 hr of savings accomplishes anything (or is even actually savings). Reality is the candles burning at my house probably consumed more power to make and ship to the store I bought it from than teh electricity saved at my house. Its more symbolic than anything.
  18. Egg without piercing the yolk....similar result.
  19. Gore was an environmentalist LONG before he was a politician. He's been pushing that cause long before any of us knew his name.
  20. I'll say this -- probably not good for the president of Earth Day Canada to have his lights on during earth hr last night (from the toronto star)...
  21. Really nice fish. I have never caught a whitey . How do they taste relative to a lake trout?
  22. lookinforwalleye still thinks the earth is flat too. Voodoo scientists....dang them!!!!
  23. stopped into the last odyssey (my first) with the wife and it was a great show. Well worth the drive to St Catherines.
  24. Both are pretty smart guys so i'll take that as a compliment even if that's not the way you intended it :-).
  25. We'll turn out the lights and the tv. Light some candles and pour a bottle of wine. Guess it makes me a "left wing socialist ass", but I usually enjoy earth hour.
