  1. Really sorry. Must seem terrifying, but it sounds like your daughter's a tough one...and attitude is a giant part of the battle.
  2. If you leave you'll have let them beat you. Take a camera, take their pics, and call the police. Even if its just a lowly trespassing fine, having a visit to their house might convince them to leave your place alone.
  3. Thanks!
  4. YOu're a good man. Thanks. btw - love the spinnerbaits. Curious - any idea why imageshak or tinypic don't work??? Should be same as photobucket.
  5. Apologize for posting this here...am sure there's a "how to" somewhere but i can't find it. Every time i try to post a pic I get an error message saying that the image extension isn't allowed on this board. Have tried imageshack and tinypic. Anyone....?
  6. Yeah but there's no charge or fine, right?? In terms of actual charge, getting caught doing a rolling stop or going 20km over the speed limit carries a charge and fine. Why not this, if its a law? I'm sure there's a reason behind it, but to the layperson it seems like a big pile of hokey.
  7. Long johns, wool sweater, toque, mitts, and a rain suit to cut the wind. Or a float suit. And a big thermos of warm coffee.
  8. take a hook, put in a glass of water, and let it sit on your desk for a couple of years. Hook will still be there, guaranteed.
  9. Why not something in the middle - do your best to cut out hte hook, or cut the hook off the lure...instead of just cutting the line.
  10. Still seems like losing your license for going 80 in a 100 zone.....you're almost at the legal limit, so we're going to suspend you. Oh, and without a trial. And, the guy who gets caught doing 140km in that same zone....3 or 4 times, keeps getting off when they go to trail. The nearly guilty get punished, without at trial. The truly guilty get off, when they go to trail. Just make it STIFF penalties for the real offenders instead. Would be much more effective.
  11. Hooks don't dissolve in fresh water. At least good hooks don't. SOmeone made a point about the cheaper/crappier hooks and they're right.....might actually be better for the fish. I don't use barbless but do cut the hooks if/when there's an issue.
  12. If 0.05 is impaired I just wish they'd say 0.05 is impaired, so that's the new limit. Above that you're charged. Make it simple. Otherwise it seems like a hokey way to punish people who aren't actually impaired. Or, punish the multiple offenders above .05....i can understand there's a problem if someone is getting multiples.
  13. Is there an actual charge/fine in addition to the suspension? Is 0.05 now a DUI? My admittedly uninformed understanding of it --- I always thought the 12 hr thing was a "warning" because at .05 or above you're dangerously close to .08 and could be on the way there (as the alcohol is digested). So the new rules weren't really a new "impaired" level but just new penalties enforced at the "warning" level....hence the issue. That said, it was always just my understanding and nothing other than hearsay to base it on. I've never actually had a 12 hr or a DUI (or a 3 day/90 day)
  14. I have no issue with a .05 limit if that is where we're impaired (which is interesting...i didn't know we actually were) I do have an issue with the imposition of a false-law (or at least that's my understanding). If you blow the new limit, you lose your license for a few days....BUT, there is no charge??? As in, its not really illegal to be driving at 0.05 but there are new stiffer penalties for blowing the warning level. Am I misunderstanding it? Is there an actual charge/fine for the new limit aside from getting your license reinstated? The part that DOES bug me though -- there are some real DRUNKS who seem to get caught drinking and driving a few times and through the legal system continuously get off. Guys who are totally smashed getting off. So, the truly guilty get off and the warning-level guys are penalized.
  15. 5 against 1. Bosh and Wade were terrible.
  16. Bosh is irrelevant in this game. Scarily so. I think someone needs to get into Bosh's head - whether it be Lebron or Spoelstra - and convince him to NOT be a wuss. Even at the top fo the key when just lining up for an offensive set Garnett is bouncing the guy. Enforce a little bit and throw your body around.
  17. So are the vibration characteristics inside the bat not affected at all by being hollow? Sweet spot is in the same place, same size, and it doesn't change? Also, i thought aluminum bats compressed a bit. Why did those golf clubs with the hollowed out backs, weight more focused to the surface, have larger sweet spots? Or was that just a gimmick? As for the bullet -- I don't think its stopping dead in its tracks and spinning. Likely bouncing, coming back down, and spinning in place. There are LOTS of people replicating it on youtube, so its either a really easy hoax or legit.
  18. Oh, and for the record i believe in the spinning bullet. Also believe those kids need their brains checked. What they were doing was really stupid. Also stupid to post it on youtube (someone is going to kill themselves trying it for themselves).
  19. Looks like you're right. I always thought a hollow or bigger bat had a bigger sweetspot, kind of like a big bertha golf club (or those ones that had the hollowed out back that apparently weren't allowed on the tour because of it).
  20. Well then a nice side benefit is that the sweet spot is much larger.
  21. Those myth busters guys are a joke. They try something their way, and if the results aren't replicated they consider stuff a bust. Have seen them miss the boat a few times, and i haven't seen the show that much. Best one was probably when they corked a baseball bat to see if it improved the hitting distance. They corked a bat and used a machine to hit balls and measured the velocity or distance or something off the cork bat. No measurable improvement so they called it a myth. Totally missed that the cork is not to make the bat springy.....its to make the sweet spot bigger....which does result in more home runs, but not because its "springy".
  22. Nice fish man. That first one looks mean. Also, only you would think catching a *few* muskies is slow fishing :-)
  23. He's at the bottom.
  24. Good call. If you go to the xarm website, Gary is listed as one of the fighters.
  25. That's what i meant. You can be held liable for the stupidest things. And, Brian -- there are idiots in every walk of life, and common sense and judgement is less common than we all think.
