  5. Yes, there is a home owners permit, just finished my whole lower level, when I was stumped the ESA guy was more than happy to offer advice. If moderately handy, that job will be a piece of cake, just read up on it and ask questions. What would take an electrician 1hour, give your self 2.5Hours. and put the money saved towards fishing gear. R
  6. Your killing me!!!! :wallbash: Nice fish!!! R
  7. Yes, spring cant come fast enough. Especially if you have a new rig to test on the water! R

  11. Nice Lakers!!!
  12. Out this AM for a bit and she tightened up, your right tons of slush beds all over the lake. Gonna be lots of stuck cars/suvs this weekend lol. R
  13. Got a nice float rod tied up a few years ago by Backwoods, with some custom stuff. No complaints at all. R
  14. Heres updated info for anyone heading out on the weekend, Ice was great,a 8-9" everywhere we were this week. Fishing has been steady, although today you really had to work for them. Best bait for me has been spoons, with a few fish coming on tubes. Buddy's had minnows hanging all day( splitshot and single hook/4lb flouro leads) and not a sniff If your walking wear rubber boots cause its sloppy out there, lots of water around the holes. If your dragging a hut... bring lots of water (hopefully the cold will tighten everything up) Good luck this weekend, it should be good R
  15. Fished the the west side of the lake pretty hard this week, and it looks like things are starting to pick up. Got tired of the perch in 85' so started targeting the main basin of the lake with good results. I have marked more baitfish clouds than I can ever remember marking on the lake during the winter season Herring schools coming through on a regular basis and TONS of smelt. Just gotta get your bait either above or below the school of bait and wait for those marks on the graph to show up. Most fish today were spoon feed and even got a couple on the tube. Decided to keep a few for the table tonight emmmmmmmm! Fish seemed to be in 100+ft compared to their usual 60-70' range where we normally target them. Tightlines, R
  16. Yep, there are way better lakes, some a short hike off hwy 60. Like you, I have paddled that park for many years and I am still amazed at the quality of fish that come out of lakes and the little pressure these back country gems see. Looks like we're in the park a week after you. Leave some for us LOL. R
  17. One Algonquin trip that must be done for specks is.... Dickson Lake! Loads of work but you'll have no problem with the brookies. Not a day trip though. And I agree, the mention of Algonquin in the middle of winter definitely brings a rush of anticipation for the spring Brookie fishing in the park and further North. R
  18. Nice Trip, Want some feathers still? R
  19. :"Hmm, wonder if the locals are tossing litter to make it look like it's the anglers" LOL Tell you what, wanna save ten bucks?.....you are more than welcome to park in my driveway. 3 min and your on the lake. Leaves me a spot for my truck and trailer at the launch
  20. Ok I'll chime in LOL. As an Innisfi resident I some what agree, 10 bucks to use the park for ice fishing access is a little much, having to pay to launch and use the park/beach for the day I get, should see the mess left to clean up come Monday morning its insane!!! but in most cases the staff have the park back in great shape by noon (no doubt covered by user fees). Locals can be just as bad as non residents I have seen this first hand. There will always be idiots both local and non local that ruin it for everyone. Those signs will start to appear in more places that is inevitable, but hopefully not to many. On a side note alot of those monster waterfront homes/water access homes are owned by out of town people, and they seem to whine the most LOL. I wonder what effect the new BBP resort will have on the Parking? R
  21. LOL.12 gauge and Shot on sight, They are like a magnet for my GSP while hunting :wallbash: :wallbash:
