  1. Bring a chain saw, lots of blow downs blocking trails this year.
  2. Do you have a 4x4 vehicle ?
  3. Thanks, Can't wait to post another similar report, and his first words this morning were "we go fishing" lol
  4. Looks like a good trip, good on ya for not bringing your gear. I paid a hefty price when I brought mine. Never again! R
  5. Well after the wife got off night shift this AM we had planned on heading to the sportsmen show but with temps forecasted into the 20's there was no way we were going to be inside. Figured with the money we would of spent on fuel, passes, food, and who knows how many impulse buys on my part we would head off to a place that guaranteed my little guy a shot at a fish and enjoy the stellar weather (though the sportsmen show trout pond is a right of passage for a kid). As soon as we arrived at the trout ponds my little guy was going crazy, unbuckled him from the truck, mom handed him his pre-rigged rod and I watched him sprint from the truck towards the ponds dragging dad's G loomis ultra light through the gravel the whole wayLesson learned. We checked in, grabbed our white pale and headed over to the brookie pond. The micro tube and slip float rig was tossed towards the middle of the pond and almost instantly my son had his first fish. I can't even explain his excitement. Between the screams, cheers we landed our first brookie. After everyone calmed down, myself included! we headed up to the rainbow pond where Mom and Dad hooked a few more with my son insisting he land them in the net. Though i enjoy the Sportsmen Show, I think weather permitting we may do this every spring until he's old enough to take a crack at some river Bow's. Definitely an alternative to the Sportsmen Show and plus who knows how much $$ I would of dropped at the trout pond at the show LOL. Back to the rivers this week for Dad! Tightlines!
  6. Great, appreciate the update!
  7. Does this count as shed hunting???? goofy dog came running out of the bush as proud as could be carrying this deer leg
  8. Bud, your a beauty, funny enough I've fished with you, you know Brent L. Remember Dave, Internet is not anonymous. If you want to mouth off with a keyboard please do it through PMs lol
  9. While your willingness to help a fellow angler is commendable. Sticking with PMs is a good idea on this one
  10. Glad everyone got out. You had to know this was coming sooner or later. R
  11. Think he was just an incedental catch, they do cruise the river mouths and estuaries in the fall thou.
  12. A few years ago I got a nice laker out of the credit all the way up in streetsville. Yikes it was actually more like 14 years ago.
  13. Yep it was a good few hours. You should of stayed and beat em up a little while longer, its your spot too (wait till I need deer hunting tips) And if you think that bushwhack was bad, just wait!!!! LOL , now I have to take you to some other spots I know. Bushwhacking=fish R
  14. I wish, had a few hours on the river this morning and now the chore list starts.
  15. Wood, especially if it involves a point or shoal or any deviance in bottom contour. Some of the best winter fishing I have had for them has been in 6'FOW or less. Being quite also helps, especially when shallow. R
  16. Nice one Brian, Love my SST, mine is not pretty ( years of roe crust lol) but it keeps spinning. I reach for that pin more often than the others I have.
  17. Let the realtor go, based on other peoples experiences out realtor was a disaster. Going to give the property guys route a try, I have no doubt that most realtors earn their commissions but ours is a different story. Thanks again for all the input , anyone want to buy a bungalow in innisfil finished top to bottom ??? Lol OFC,er discount
  18. Great info guys, Thanks. R
  19. Thick piece of mono cut on a 45 and trimmed appropriately. We still have to get out. R
  20. Not very impressed with how our realtor is working out and have started looking into using Property guys and selling privately. We have at least 1.5 years to sell, so there is no rush. Any feedback or experience is welcome. Thanks R
  21. We went there in 2009. Usually in the late afternoon I would sneak down to that rocky point to cast a few lures. Got a bunch of smaller fish with a few large fish thrown in, unfortunately the larger ones spooled me or the toothy critters snapped me off. We did do the charter for 2 full days. Expect to catch tuna, barracuda, dolphin fish, and possibly if your lucky a marlin. We had one hook up with a marlin after trooling for close to 3 hours, fight lasted literally 10 sec until he spit the hooks. Still worth every second. Silver spoons, and pearl white jerk baits produced from shore. Small pieces of shrimp also worked. We had a good stay at the resort, but as stated , use caution when wondering off the resort grounds.
  22. I like it. Good idea. R
  23. 30 km in one go would be a bit much for this breed IMO. And you would never want to run him hard like that in the first year, to much bone development taking place. More of an agility/retrieving type dog. Great breed though and obviously great swimmers.
  24. Amazing fish, ! Great report. R
  25. Scarpa, hands down. You will pay, and break in period is a bit longer but these boots are indestructible. R
