Hit one of my favorite tribs today and got a shot of the "perfect pool", pool is 8-9' deep runs 30 yards and even has a small feeder creek meeting it. If you look hard enough you can even spot my float drifting the seem lol. Always a few hungry steelies in it. Any other" perfect pool shots" ? And for obvious reasons the trib remains anonymous !!

If its a 5km or a 5.7km portage, just look at all the broken and busted up carts left in the bush along the portage route.....lol tell ya what not to buy or how not to build it ! I own the unit Solopaddler recommended and can give it the thumbs up! well worth the money in the long run.

Purchasing a firearm in US and bringing back to Canada
Rustic-Fisher replied to Rattletrap2's topic in General Discussion
Search it out on line, there are brokers that will handle your transaction. Hope its a high end gun/rare, because by the time your done handing out cash it will get expensive$$$$$$$$$ -
Great day, and the makings for a piece of tackle to be handed from generation to generation. The nostalgia of a story like this is priceless!

Sorry to hear, Terrible losing any pet in the family, especially a good gun dog! Cheers, to the solid points, retrieved birds and your memories together in the field!

This sort of thing happens all the time with hunting/field trail dogs as they are often kenneled outdoors. Best advice I got was to never put the dogs call name on the collar, but instead your full name and phone##. I know a few guys that have had high end pups ripped off from the kennel and it just makes me sick especially with all the work that goes into them. A good finished(fully trained gun dog) can sell for over 4000.00 Bucks. Some people :wallbash:

Start at Thornbury and keep heading North until you find fishable water, Most tribs were MUD yesterday but the further North you went......... :whistling: :whistling:

Baitcaster for steelhead float fishing
Rustic-Fisher replied to shaker's topic in General Discussion
Baitcasting gear equals big water and lots of weight, I fish an 11'.6" baitcasting outfit rigged with a slip float just for a change sometimes and do alright but you really need a good current to help your drifts. Still a ton of fun, and a nice change from the pin somedays. -
Great fish!!!, yep the snows covering a lot of stuff you would hate to run over with your car/truck out there.

Could not be more true lol, My wife gave me a custom tied stick for our first anniversary that I am scared to death of breaking lol.

Lots of place's in the states have ban them In effort to curb AIS (Aquatic Invasive Species) and other nasty diseases associated with trout streams such as Whirling disease. No ban here though.

My opinion on the bps waders is that the only good thing about them is when they do leak, you should not have that much of a problem returning them and exchanging them for new ones. Don't get me wrong BPS makes some great gear (2yrs working part time there equals a ton of discounted bps gear lol) but lots of waders go back, including a few pairs from me. In my opinion spend as much as you can on waders/outdoor clothing. Nothing is worse then being out in the elements soaked and cold because of gear thats not up to par for what your doing. I m a fan of Simms, seemed to have great customer service and a good product, only catch is you pay the $$$ for them unless you find them on sale or clearance. That being said if your only hitting the rivers 5-6 times a season they could be you ticket. When fishing a system like the Notty its not the wading that beats the waders up its all the bush whacking getting to the great drifts. This is tough on any wader. Neoprene waders + miles of walking equals Exhaustion. Agree with the Cabela's brand for the $$$ have friends that beat em up good and they seem to take it. Dacron+10lb Ande mono is what I run on my rigs, not a fan of the hi viz stuff either. If you go with the sock footed waders make sure you try them on with the boots you intend on using, comfort matters when your spending full days on the river. GG

Travel remained great from IBR, Lots of cars and trucks out today. Fishing was all so great, lots of whities and 1 laker. Fished 85' with tubes and spoons. Had to keep the laker (don't like keeping them that big) as she inhaled the spoon while reeling it up causing too much damage to send her back down ! Little guy sure got a kick out of it though Good luck this weekend and stay dry!

Innisfil Beach, conditions+report.

85' ........ Away from all the huts -
Won't be able to make it out tomorrow but decided to head out for the few hours this afternoon and check it out. Should be a good day tomorrow, it would appear that perch have moved out of the deep stuff and have been replaced with whities and herring in the area we fished this week (about time LOL). Lots of marks on the graph, a few missed fish and a few landed. Soft jigging and plastics did it today, but buddies were out yesterday and hit double digits of fish on spoons, same area. Travel will be great, cars, trucks (except my RAM Mega Cab, LOL) ATVS, and sleds all over the lake(IBR area) use cation though. Watch the pressure cracks to the North. Tried to show the conditions in the pics. Have fun out there,

If your neighbors house was on fire and they were trapped in the home would you try and find them???? I like to think that most people would make a reasonable attempt, and that makes them a hero for their heroic actions no matter what the outcome is. A Firefighter is paid to arrive on the scene size up the risks, determine the appropriate action and initiate the appropriate rescue attempt with proper equipment to minimize the risk to themselves and crew. As a full time firefighter do I consider myself a hero?? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I just do what most of you would do if you came across any situation with someone in distress, try and help. I just have fancy tools and a big red truck LOL. A guy running into a burning building 8 times without proper equipment to make a rescue takes balls. Does not matter if your an off duty firefighter, cop, teacher, or tradesmen your a hero for putting it on the line in that situation.

Any electricians on the board??
Rustic-Fisher replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
Yes, there is a home owners permit, just finished my whole lower level, when I was stumped the ESA guy was more than happy to offer advice. If moderately handy, that job will be a piece of cake, just read up on it and ask questions. What would take an electrician 1hour, give your self 2.5Hours. and put the money saved towards fishing gear. R -
Your killing me!!!! :wallbash: Nice fish!!! R
