  1. We hunted the area on Sun so if you heard some shotgun blasts where you were fishing than that was the area LOL. R
  2. Nice fish. I am going to have to dedicate a season to using the fly gear, Hooking a Steelie on the fly gear is an unbeatable feeling, at least the 3 times its happened to me LOL R
  3. Fished a few hours and managed a number of these in the 3-4lb range... Lost a few decent ones in this stuff Was nice to see a few guys coming out of the bush in the area I fish designated a "no kill zone" each carrying a few fish. :wallbash: Talked with them and let em no about the regs, pleaded stupid and then carried on. Weird they seemed upset that I snapped a pic of them and their trophies ...LOL Anyways looks like Bows are in the Tribs fairly good so enjoy your season. R
  4. After 20+years chasing the bows, ................ Thank god for hunting dogs and upland hunting during the fall. LOL.. R
  5. Cool pics, Like the pup
  6. Yep, been there before. I swear they do that on purpose!
  7. Lol I have to , between chasing my son around and wrangling the dog I need all the help I can get!!
  8. Very nice fish!!!!! Love the reel, ya can't beat the whiskers!! R
  9. Pup is seven months old and was brought up from the States. I could not have asked for a better breeder after being burned last year by one doing all the training myself with the help of some buddys that hunt GSPs and a healthy population of wild birds 2 min from home. As for picking that breed, I needed a dog that was high strong and full of energy and willing to go all day, ease of training, and an all round versatile dog that preformed well in a variety conditions. The GSP being the meat and potatoes of the pointy breeds I choose it.
  10. Good day today as the pup got his first pheasants Hope to hunt all next week and also try and squeeze some river time in. Anyone else been out? R
  11. JK Rubicon wrangler (stock), is not comparable to ANY suv in terms of off road capability, There is a reason it was voted best 4x4 of the decade. But you'll sacrifice a smooth ride during day to day driving, but if your using it for logging roads and gettin to back lakes it really is basically an over sized ATV. And yes I have a JK LOL I do also like the 4runner, and am thinking of getting one for my wife. Do a search and compare xterras vs jeeps(wrangler). Start with the suspension, drivetrain, add ons ect... 4runner without question will be more reliable than the jeep, but they really are different creatures. Good luck with your search. R The old X after deer hunting, and yes you could fit a deer in the back with the seats down LOL
  12. Had a 2003 Xterra supercharged, Off road it was decent, I bought it pretty much brand new. At around 150000 km thats were things went bad...... Seemed I was having to fix something every month and than at 160000 the head gasket went So off she went and was traded in on a new jk jeep wrangler and what a machine that is! Good luck with your search R
  13. I can confirm, they,re in there . and have been for awhile. R
  14. NICE!!!!!!!!!
  15. LOL.... I did my homework, you could go on for pages about this. Stick with what your dog does best on. Your ma and pop cured pork shop(LOL) can't fund the research that is put into certain dog foods THIS IS A FACT. As far as quality... its a dry kibble, its manufactured for human convenience if your really worried about all the "Chinese Poison" I hope your making and your own dog food. One interesting thing is our family's German shepherd lived a healthy life until 14 and was feed........... the cheapest Walmart brand of food out there. Go figure R
  16. I have tried most the foods mentioned, including a raw diet and have gone right back to the Eukanuba. They have the $$ (Proctor and Gambel owned) for the research that goes into making a quality dry food, both my pups have done well on it. I still feed them pasta, meat ect... during the hunting season as they require a ton of extra calories during the fall due to the fact they are working 3 times a week or more. All said and done stick with what fits your pup best. Cute pup!! R
  17. If you have not bought it already, check out Le barons on-line!$$$
  18. Sporadic at best! we're not even seeing them near the mouths yet on g-bay, but that could all change in a week. I am thinking a late run this year. How about tapping into the Smallmouth which are plentiful in the gbay tribs. Having said that, GO for it!!! you never know. Tight lines, R
  19. Unreal!!! They're everywhere this year, I fish of back lakes in the Mindon Area and have already come across a few this year. Looks like I'm getting a bear tag this year. R
  20. Had my Cane Corso TITAN (r.i.p) in the woods up north always, one word PORCUPINES!!
  21. Okay, those pics make me jealous!!. R
  22. Nice Brown!!!!!!!!
  23. WOW, on the pin and all!! We spent the day flipping the heavy timber 100 hooks later river coughed up some good ones!! RY
