  2. You got my votes! We should be able to easily put you over the top with this thing. You are in 7th right now.
  3. Nice going! Looks like a great day on the ice. Good to see you around here Rich....been a while hasn't it?
  4. Thanks Billy Bob. Sore loosers have a disease that manifests in many different ways. This fellow is just one example.
  5. Cool! Thanks
  6. Just curious if any of you are members of this local club? I am not able to find much info on the club. Thanks
  7. Great post Young one! You pretty much had me convinced to take a bite.....i have no idea what the fishes problem was! LOL
  8. Welcome! Pictures are always nice! Nice fat looking Pike! Where abouts is "Local"? You don't have to be specific, just wondering what region this is in.
  9. Good question about the fuel Brian. I was told by the mechanic at Extreme Marine this past summer, that the last tank I ran through my outboard should be 94 octane. He said it did not contain the ethanol. I figure that with the minimal use my boat has been getting lately, that the first tank i fill up with in the Spring...is the last tank!!! I might as well use it all the time. Would this hold true for most of our 2 cycle engines?
  10. Brian, Just curious....but does it make it more difficult to walk properly when they get to be that big? I figure they must help prevent yer knees from knocking together in fear when She came into the house and found it? Just like when you take a severe bump to the head....you should post on here every few hours....just so we know you are ok!!
  11. Thanks everyone. I really think a love of the outdoors is the common bond that brings us all together. As much as we love being outdoors, we love the animals that share it with us just as well.
  12. Yesterday was a very sad day for everyone in our household. I mentioned a while back in another thread, that our poor old Pup was having a tough time getting around since Thanksgiving week-end. Things continued to decline and he was loosing more and more control over his hind legs. Well, things really progressed quickly for the worse over the past few days and yesterday, we had to face the inevitable. Ol' Tyler was unable to stand on his own and appeared to start having some pain. He would cry out from time to time and just laid there in the front hall. We called the girls and they all came home to be there with him and us At 2:15 yesterday afternoon, he went to sleep for the final time The Veterinarian was excellent with us all, but nothing can make the pain we feel go away. We know we did the right thing for him and the look in his eyes almost appeared to be thanking us. He lived with so much dignity all his life and we could never have asked for a better dog. The way he was yesterday, was just not the way he deserved to live. We all knew that this time was likely to come sooner than later, but nothing can prepare you for this. I know many of you have had to face this type of thing as well. Our world is so empty without him. . Tyler (aka "Bubba") April 1998 - January 1, 2011 Never to be forgotten
  13. Very sorry for your loss Phil. He sure looks like he enjoyed being in a boat. The world has lost another fine hero. Way too young to go.
  14. Brian, I ordered my 3 year Sportfishing license, Outdoors card, and...............for the first time ever............my 3 year Small Game License!!! Did it all online after making a trip to the local Service Ontario office to upgrade my status to include hunting. Came to $159.00+!!!!! Considered going with the conservation version, but changed my mind at the last minute
  15. Thanks Beans. So sorry to read of Nanook's passing. He certainly did fight long and hard. My condolences to his family. RIP Jack.
  16. Smart decision Lew! We get quite a few Deer around here as well, but I find it more interesting to try and get a glance at one naturally. I have resisted putting out feed for them, but did place a couple of salt licks out in the woods for them. I don't think drawing wildlife close to your home is wise at any time. We had a bit of an issue with turkey at the bird feeders last winter. The buggers were within a few feet of our back door. They make a hell of a mess and it ain't natural for them to be this close. Placing food close to your house can bring in unwanted critters as well.
  17. Cliff, i can't help you much. I need help these days with pretty much the same things! LOL It is a very admirable thing you are offering though. Sounds like a great opportunity for a young fellow to learn from you while at the same time helping you out with some of the chores. I hope it all works out great!
  18. Hey Dan, what was that they used to say about the Shoemaker having the most worn out shoes? My own furnace is a 35 year old "Grimsby" that is standing pilot and belt drive. Efficiency is somewhere around maybe 55%!!! I don't use the AC all that much these days, so what I have in that regard will do. Gord, the nice thing about having the AC on the second floor, is you are picking up the load from the warmest part of the house and delivering the conditioned air there as well. If you are happy with the heating, I think you will be very pleased with the A/C performance. If the thermostat is on the second floor as well, you may find that the lower floors will really need the baseboards. Kind of difficult to get the lighter warm air down to the lower levels without a circulation system to take it there.
  19. Yep, it is referred to as COP (Co-efficient Of Performance). At times, you will get as high as 3 or 4 to 1 out of it. That means that for every watt you pay for on your bill, you are getting 3 or 4 watts out. The resistance elements in your baseboards are 1:1. You pay for 1, and get 1. Cooling efficiencies will be similar to any other A/C unit with a similar SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) rating. The COP will diminish as the outdoor temp drops, but for our climate, they perform pretty well. Mits is also one of the originals when it comes to this design of system. They pioneered the ductless units. Congrats on your new system Gord!
  20. Now you are talking! I met Bob back in '83 at the Sportsman Show in Toronto. He was just about to start his first show on television. He was at the Red Fisher booth. Bob Izumi is a true Canadian fishing legend. Way to go!
  21. I fell through 8" yesterday....sooooooooo....don't be too hasty getting yer vehicle out! Mind you, it was 8" of poor ice, but through i went!
  22. Tapout, What in blazes is a "Mummer"...oh never mind. Looks like fun times! Hope you are doing well and stay safe on the ice!
  23. I was curious about the flu shots as well. I don't make a habit of getting them, but I happened to be in the Doctors office and he offered. I said sure! Didn't think too much about it. Anyways, i wonder how many that have this bug, also had the shot? As for me, I don't feel all that great today. The way I been squeezing my butt cheeks together all day, I might just be in decent enough shape for a new set of spandex bike shorts in the new year!!! LOL Anyone that knows me.....its enough to make you lose yer lunch ain't it? LOL
  24. My Wife has it now. Started with a sore throat and progressed from there.Yesterday was the chills and cramps. Does not sound good for a speedy recovery from what i'm seeing on here. Take are everyone!
