Any outfit that won't tell you what you got wrong is hardly legit. They did recently change the rules for testing, at home on the computer is gone, you can't write in your own home, write till you pass or pay if you pass never was legit. $20 to test, register you and make up a card isn't that unreasonable, but a lot of outfits didn't keep records so make a copy of your card. If you got it at a trade show consider that the price of floorspace at the show will drive costs up. Only 20 people wrote at the Toronto boat show with CPS. All $ goes to the testing org. I decided $20 bucks was reasonable because , well , uhh , well ,uhh thats what I charged.

Can someone provide me with some studies on C&R

Its more of a religion than a science. -
If the motor has been fogged you will need to run it for a while to get a true reading. Buddy's 3cyl yammi took out a piston at 4years.

when you bolt them on try to get a plywood or metal plate backer on the inside. I wouldn't go under 10lb and keep them the same so they track together in turns.

My brother and I and a helper did a 145 square building in wood siding in 3 weeks. It was his know how, lots of saws and you gotta have the air nailers. She who is to be obeyed shouldn't find any problem with that, looks great.

Get your self a chart. If you don't know the area you are required to have a chart, and if you need a fish map you don't know the area. This is an unenforceable law unless you ask the cop for directions or maybe your finding your way around with a fish map so if a cop pulls you over hide the map..

The prop is sized to run at the rpm where the motor makes its best power , a v8 might run 250 hp at 4500rpm but only a 100 hp at 2000rpm.

"I have a feeling that with my luck, when I reach to retrieve the weight/line from the water, I will end up swimming. And knowing whom I'm with, they probably won't swing around to pick me up." In the days of sailing ships sailors wore gold rings so that it would be worth stopping the boat and coming back for them if they went over the side. Maybe you should invest in some jewelry.

When the fishns hot its hot, when its not its not, but Ive fished BOQ once in 2 years if that tells you anything.. That pile of rocks hasn't gone anywhere.

pimped out my personal ponton boat

You have raised the center of gravity a long ways from the original design and might notice a change in stability, hopefully before its too late but probably better than standing on it. I take it the seat goes back to its original position for the 6' waves. I bet thats a whole lot of fun, I want one. -
If I was to insure the boat I think I would want it on a separate policy so that any claim would not reflect on house insurance. Most people are scared to make a claim and are paying for insurance they won't use. If you are a member of Canadian Power Squadron there is a policy available to you that you might want to check out.
-
You want to check those with the house deals, sometimes the boat has to be kept inside or they have some other fine print reason to turn down a claim. Can you get a liability only or do you have to get a package deal? I would insure the boat if I could get liability only. I was at a transport ca.-coast guard thing a couple years ago and they said mandatory ins. was on the way then. Maybe we can get Bob Rae to start a federal insurance program.

I'll probably be plowing 2' of snow in low range at about 2mpg.

The proper way to change the name of a boat is a party to remove the name and another party to give the new name. How about "Whiteout" "10 miles out" May Day May Day, I'm Ten Miles Out, 15 miles off whatever point. might be a little confusing, sort of like Who's on first.

When I first saw his show I didn't think he was in Canada. The total lack of safety equipment hints that he has a lot less experience than he lets on. Did they finally nail him as all in a sudden the guys have proper work boots and hard hats? how much was the fine? Tearing all that stuff apart wearing running shoes puts a shiver up my back.

I have been looking to replace the old marinetek video. So I'm in the same place, Ive been looking at northstar or maybe a Raymarine digital but I havent done my homework on them yet. Or maybe I'll just solder up the tranducer cable again on the old marinetek .

New Years Day = fishing liscence renewals
POLLIWOGG replied to Dondorfish's topic in General Discussion
Jerseydog you were lucky, you could still have been charged with failure to show a license. Used to be they could look you up on the system and double your fine if you were licensed but didn't have it on you. It was cheaper not to have a license at all. -
Ive been told they get the utilities trucks to come out and cut some holes in the Athabasca River.

Don't worry, if the power goes off at your local nuclear reactor it will all melt down.

Lakers will follow the ball for half a mile, short lead of 5 or 6 feet won't bother them. Salmon will take a short lead but bows , browns and eyes back them up 50 to 100.

It has been illegal to fish in Ontario for many years now but I have purchased a waiver from prosecution from the crown. I don't think a municipal gov. can override a provincial permit without the permission of the province.
