All this info comes out of the US so it seems that from the body count its not working.

The CO in boats info has shown up in the last year or so with transport Ca. producing a cd and several magazine articles. I know a couple that passed out in a boat a couple years ago in a classic CO situation and the doctor never mentioned the possibility of co poisoning. I have another friend that works in your field, I'll ask him about it.

Ever had anybody seasick on your boat? maybe not. www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/coboating www.cdc.gov/niosh/surveyreports/pdfs/ECTB-171-05ee2.pdf

If you get a new outboard you get new technology that can pay of in less emissions and better mileage. If you go to an inboard you get old tech slightly better than the sixties but cheap to fix. I posted earlier warning of carbon monoxide .... a single marine engine puts out the equivalent CO as 188 modern car engines! To put pollution controls on marine engines would cut mileage to unacceptable levels. Outboards are safer where CO is a concern.

Check the water pump shaft seals ?

Some guys will put a frost plug heater in them if they're running late in the year but I would check to see if it would heat the manifolds or drain them.

Buy your last boat first, I mean get the one you want instead of stepping up every few years unless you buy them right and don't loose your shirt on each one. I figure the loss on each one = payments on the one you want. If you don't hear the motor run and test drive it buy it as if your just getting the boat and the motor wasn't there.

If you want to get it done in the county Thunder.................613-476-5225 Rand's mobile marine........613-476-1906 Jed , you forgot to drain the block before pouring in the antifreeze, I mention this because a guy up the road did his last year by pulling the antifreeze in by running the motor put didn't drain the block first. It didn't clear all the water and he had problems.

If I put snow tires on the Norton do you think the dog would ride carp? Do you think they would let him cross the border wearing a life jacket on the back of a bike in Nov? -
Breaking the law and playing with the loopholes is the Canadian way,Speed limits--Gst etc.
-
Leave the rod up in a holder so your head isn't the highest thing in the boat.

I saw a guy use dynamite to get rid of a skunk and I'm sure it didn't feel a thing. If you put your garden hose on a fan spray and point it at the skunk you can walk right up to it and the water will knock down the spray. He- HE- HE Now are you ready for the dynamite. Take it for a walk to the end of a dock, if it looks scared of the water it has rabies, throw him in.

Project for tomorrow is to set up irrigation, I've watched rain miss us all summer.

Drop your anchor. When you loose control of the boat due to break down or as the young fellas the other day couldn't row against the wind.

Take the Canadian Power Squadron boating coarse, sigh up for the fall coarse now.

We used to see the guys at Main Duck fishing tournaments out of Kingston or Belleville. They would have to get there and get their fish and get out before the wind picks up because L On. don't like bass boats. A few years back a guy got lost and stopped for a look around, got swamped and rescued by a sailer. They had a 30' pontoon boat up to 100mph, I suppose you could catch bass off it.

Ahhhh Fort Mac, Sort of miss the ol arm pit of the world. Holdfast, your dispatcher wasn't Gord by any chance?

The Official "This thing is probably busted thread"

I put about 5 gallons through the old laptop on nasty ride back from Main Duck, they don't call them tough books for nothin. On another trip back from the ducks, my buddy was running with us when his windshield exploded. -
I'm with the canadianguy on this one, If you know what your doing on the water the need for insurance is limited to bumps and scrapes around the dock or protection from the other uninsured guy that doesn't know what he's doing. Unfortunately you can't just get liability you have to get a package that puts you in with the guys that rip their outdrive off every year. If you run over a swimmer that doesn't have a flag with him its not your fault as long as you keep a proper look out so your insurance won't pay out on it anyway. I can also tell you for fact that mandatory insurance is coming, my guess is within 5 years.

Sod at salmon Point, the rabbits carry lunch pails out there. If the guy has built this illegally as a lot of them do, he will probably give you any thing you ask for.

Divide the refund by 10 what do you have? Check out Deerhaven on west lake for next year.

Bite me posted earlier about a boat running with no occupant, this could be the result of running with the wind and filling the boat with exhaust. The boater gets confused and ends up over the side. There have been warnings from boating publications and trans ca. about this in the last year or 2.. I know a couple that were slowly cruising BOQ. heading with the wind and they both passed out. So be aware of the possibility when your out there.

One more time... the gov. gets no $ from your operators card so all of us that don't like giving our $ to the gov. should be happy with this system. The basic crossing of 2 vessels requires both knowing their responsibilities as stand on or give way vessels so having both got there pcoc it proves that as the one guy stated they are slightly smarter than an idiots and should miss each other. The basics required for the pcoc don't make a good boater it just makes them less of a hazard to others.
-
No its not right, You should have waved them over and tied them on the side , shared a coffee or whatever and made 2 friends and fished together the next day.

POint of order SAilboats don't have right of way when overtaking.
