Used to go north for a bike trip, its a hoot to watch a bunch of bikers grocery shopping, they'll ride without a helmet but won't eat white bread or butter. If we didn't have a truck with us we would ride light as long as we could and load up at the last spot. We were on holiday and stopped to talk to everybody, it didn't take long for the locals to remember us from last year.

I guess I'll have to pull the boat with a tractor this year, if I put the forklift on I could move those guys that always park in the way.

Lew you can mount the antenna on a rail... if you got a rail.

If you want to use it for chartering or any commercial use it would be a nightmare to build from scratch because you would need it checked out for stability and weight etc, gets costly. Toons have been around long enough that there are some out there in need of restoration that can be had reasonable, might be a good place to start. I think there's a video of one with 2 big mercs on the back doing 100mph.

Transport C. minimum requirement for a boat less than 8 m is 50' of rode to keep you from crashing on shore in hopefully most situations, they don't care if you can anchor in 8 or 10 or more ' of water. To anchor, chose the right anchor for the bottom or if you only have one, thats it. Let out rode, don't throw, it 7X the depth of the water plus the hight of your cleat or chuck from the water. Back the boat up till the anchor holds tight. Leave out the 7X rode or if conditions allow you can shorten up a little, if your there for the night maybe let out a little more for a sound sleep or another anchor to prevent swing. If its busy you should mark your anchor. Chains always good and can sometimes be used to ground the boat for lightning protection.

about 90% of your motors energy is used to push the water out of your way creating the wake. If you have enough motor to lift the boat out of the water all of the energy goes into moving the boat creating little to no wake = more efficient. So we all need bigger motors. Or you go so slow as to not break your displacement speed which is also more efficient, we could get by with about a 7.5hp . Some of the tourny guys might run 50 miles to get to a fishing spot, so it would take 10 or 12 hours round trip if they don't stop to fish.

You can't leave people or coons or skunks on these nesting islands because the fumes would kill them....no joke ..the ammonia fumes would kill them .
-
Get rid of the fishing license and free up some time for the CO's to go after poachers instead of checking everybody for a license..

I would think they did a great job of assessing the risk from this guy, far better than our mounties, and I'm sure he was a half second from getting blown away for most of the trip. Truth is you don't need a plane to deliver a wmd anyone can get their hands on a wmd in a couple hours and deliver it in a couple more and be home in time for wheel of fortune the trick is not to make them want to.

Collision regs -part c - lights and shapes Rule 20 ( The rules concerning lights shall be complied with from sunset to sunrise and during such times no other lights shall be exhibited, except such lights as cannot be mistaken for the lights specified in these rules or do not impair their visibility or distinctive character, or interfere with the keeping of a proper look-out On a small craft your sidelights have to be visible for 1 mile and the all round light for 2 miles. I doubt you could tell the all round from a pair of headlights at 2 miles or notice the red -green sidelights at 1 mile between a pair of headlights or see the sidelight from the side when its lined up with a headlight .
-
Theres about 5 or 6 pages on lights in the collision regs, let me get back to you and I'll tell you why they are illegal when under way. also a cop magnet .

I planted potatoes in the garden last Saturday.

I might be able to get a picture of a dock covered with smallies that should get er locked up.
-
Its a 2 or 3 hundred thousand fine under the fisheries act to introduce something into the water that harms fish. So yah it's already illegal if the wash water gets to a storm drain.

You got to hand it to Harper...He submits a liberal budget to keep himself in power with just enough unconstitutional stuff to make sure it would never get through the senate. There aint enough o's in smooth to describe him. Its the cigarette smoking alcoholics that live in their car that carry this country on their backs.

Licences, insurances Etc for a 16' boat
POLLIWOGG replied to Lunker777's topic in General Discussion
"seen a booth at the sportsmen show who said they will guarantee a pass on a boating license when you pay...I should have gotten 1 ..I think they should make them seasonal like a fishing license and a short quizz make more money" Why wood you want these crooks to make more money? This is not a license it is proof of competence, as you can't be competent one day and not the next how can competence expire? -
If the motor was fogged that might be whats fouling the plugs or the coil might be weak, thats what happened to mine. Check the spark and maybe a compression test?.
-
I think thats your transducer that makes that noise.
-
I'd love to see it go to Peterborough, it gets away from Lake O. that limits access from 180 deg. and cheaper floor space might restore the show to what it used to be.
-
I had the same motor but can't remember ever having the carb apart , you might not be able to do it. On my bikes the float and valve are in the fuel bowl so I just take it off the carb and turn the gas on to watch it fill up to check the level.. Something else you might check is the choke linkage and make sure its working.
-
Take the bowl off the carb ,hook it up to a fuel line and check the fuel level.

By trash he means its obvious he hasn't ripped anybody off for large sums of cash. Could you picture Conrad doing community service with Holdfast. Holdfast should be back from Calgary soon.
-
When someone did my car you couldn't see it until you looked for it and then you could see where they went all around the car. Call your insurance co and get the whole car painted.
-
There is no license, just the operators card. The Canadian Power And Sail Squadron will probably be at the TO sportsman show or any local show or you can contact them locally, cost around $30, 50 questions and the card is good in most of the US. as well.

gbfisher has it right, don't say a thing, it will drive him crazy waiting for it.
