  1. I appreciate the suggestions. Going through the US makes sense but will have to wait for another trip. That's the best and cheapest place I could find for a stopover lol I once drove from Omaha NE to Kansas, so I understand what you mean by flat. My father in law was with us for that trip, and ever since, he always reminds me of how bored he was on that trip.
  2. This Summer (End of June-Beginning of July) the plan is to drive across Canada with the family from GTA to Edmonton to visit my parents, followed by Calgary and Banff. Then make the trip back. We will stick to driving through Canada only so on the way there, we will be stopping overnight in hotels in Sault Ste Marie, (hopefully do some nightime walleye fishing ), Thunder Bay, and then a town called Moosomin in SK. Finally reaching our destination in Edmonton. We stay in Edmonton for a few nights and then continue to Calgary for a night then spend 2 nights camping in Bow Valley Provincial park right outside Banff. On the way back the plan is to make stops in Medicine Hat,Winnipeg, and then 2 nights camping in Sleeping Giant Provincial park. Then finally another night in Sault Ste Marie before finally returning back home. Feel free to share some tips or must see places on the way. We usually keep our own food, so anything besides food or drink related attractions would be great. Also any fishing tips would be appreciated especially if anyone is familiar with Bow Valley PP and Sleeping Giant PP. I believe both places we have campsite right on the water so hopefully that should help catch a fish or 2. I have been dreaming of making a cross Canada trip for the longest time. Hoping to make the best of it .
  3. Just curious, do you use worms, or other bait?
  4. I have had 2 vandalisms (not straight out stolen) , but once that happens, you get this weird feel every time you step into the car even though its all fixed up.Sorry to hear that happened to you Dan. Even if they don"t write it off, I am guessing you can fix it up for cheap with your expertise or you can buy it back if they do write it off.
  5. Wish I could join but tomorrow is moving day. Moving = Not FUN . I hope you have a good outing and let us know how you do. Planning on going one more time before the end of the season
  6. Thanks!
  7. Cool video. Any idea whats swimming there this time of the year? Upper Niagara specifically (Fort Erie)
  8. Agree with the tough to navigate part. I kind of grew up there and still don't know how to get around. GTA on the other hand is a breeze to navigate. Make sure you have a good gps. Also, if you have extra days, a trip to Quebec city is well worth the drive. Very scenic and the old city is great to check out.
  9. I use to live in Peel and had Rogers. Never really had any issues with them. then switched to cogeco when we moved to Halton and their service was ok but not as good as Rogers. Cogeco's customer service reps we not very professional in the way they would deal with issues and were always felt like they were in a rush to get you off the phone. I am now with Bell due to my displeasure with Cogeco and so far its been good. I only switched because I use their cell services and they gave a super good deal on internet and tv. Time will tell.
  10. You will be in our prayers. Easier said than done, but stay positive and enjoy life. I am sure you will overcome it and come out of it healthier than before!
  11. You have to visit one of Montreal's most famous landmark, the Orange Julep. try their poutine and orange drive. you will not be disapointed!
  12. When I saw it was 11 degrees here in Oakville, I asked my wife the same question! Better get the BBQ setup!
  13. I really like the look of the charger Hellcat and scat pack
  14. Glad you had a good outing despite the troubles with your machine. I though you usually fish out of cooks bay, and park at Dave's place?
  15. If there is one Buick the wife and I like, its the Buick Enclave. But seriously speaking, as they say old is gold. Newer cars are pretty much all the same. No charm like the cars back in the days.
  16. Thanks for the replies and tips. Thanks OI for the suggestion of getting waders. I do have a inflatable boat which I will take but in case the water is rough, I prefer to stay on shore. Is the water in that area usually calm or does it get rough? Thanks again
  17. I am a volvo guy and have owned them since 2006. In my humble opinion, they are one of the better cars on the road (with the exception of a few years when Ford bought them). I have owned, Hondas, Mitsubishi, Toyota in the past, and while they were all good, I feel like Volvo had all the things I was looking for (safety, Comfort, Reliability, Ease of repairs and the fact that they dont rust). To each his/her own. I do most of the repairs myself so it is a little cheaper for me to own, but as long as the maintenance is done on time, which is no different any other car, they last a long time. I have owned many in the last 10 years and all of them had over 200k kms when I bought them, and they all ran super good! So if they were so reliable, why did I buy so many? basically I worked my way up by buying and selling until I bought the the most pricey volvo I bought.A 2004 volvo xc90 2.5T AWD. I bought it 5 years ago for 8k with 220k kms on it and now it sits at 355k kms. Knock on wood, its been the best car I have owned and plan on getting another 5 or more years out of it if not longer . if anyone needs more info or is interested in Volvos, dont hesitate to send me a Pm. Id be glad to help out.
  18. Planning on trying some new parks this year for car camping. Balsam Lake PP is of interest at the moment for Victoria Day Weekend. Any tips for shore fishing at the park? Hoping to get some walleye or worst case some panfish Feel free to Pm me if you wish. Thanks!
  19. We fished on Nosbonsing (close to Nippising) until 6pm. we were back at the car 6:30pm. back home by 10:30 which included driving in a snow storm and coffee stops.
  20. I have heard that the Pathfinders have issues with the CVT transmissions. Not sure about the Cx9 since its totally redesigned nor the outlander. I would think that insurance and parts for the outlander may be higher since its not a popular car. My first choice would be the Highlander, then the Sorento and then probably the Santa Fe.
  21. I always thought of that. I have a pretty big inflatable boat. inflate it and fish from it. if the ice breaks, paddle away lol. On a serious note, I probably wouldn't really do that
  22. Personally I love using Firefox.
  23. I second Tim Hales. A little pricier than others but well worth it. The ride, huts and very well insulated, and the fishing is great. Minnow off the bottom works great.
  24. Only 37 by 1pm sounds great! Sounds like fun! I am heading out to cooks bay this Friday with my wife and girls. Will be the first time for the girls, so hoping for some beginners luck! The wife always catches more than I do . Hoping to get lucky and hook into a pike along with some perch.
