I Always Marinate Wild Turkey in Buttermilk for one day. This cleans the taste and tenderizes the meat. Then rinse and dry with paper towels. Place turkey on a greased rack in a roasting pan. Add water, giblets and neck to pan. Combine 1-1/4 cups broth, 3/4 cup orange juice and 2 tablespoons soy sauce; pour over turkey. Combine bouillon, onion and garlic powder; sprinkle over turkey. Bake, uncovered, at 325° for a bird that size 3 1/2 hours should do it but use a meat thermometer if you got one, basting every 30 minutes. When turkey begins to brown, cover lightly with foil. Remove giblets and neck when tender; set aside for gravy. Combine remaining broth, orange juice and soy sauce. Remove foil from turkey; pour broth mixture over turkey. Bake 30 minutes longer or until a meat thermometer reads 180°. For gravy, remove meat from neck and discard the bones. Chop giblets and neck meat; set aside. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups pan juices, broth, orange juice and Worcestershire sauce; mix well. Stir in thyme, sugar and pepper. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Whisk into broth mixture; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in reserved giblets and neck meat. Carve turkey; serve with gravy.

Head hunter I think many feel as you, but with the elitelist attitude spewed by these ditch fishers,they are afraid to get the bashing .. Guys if you want to really enjoy the fighting spirit of these fish , get into a boat go out into the lake , 300 to 350 feet water , most days of the summer, fish the top 25 feet and you can and I have many times(a few on this site have been out with me so they know)brought 50 to 100 steels to the boat in a day (i have a 5 fish guarantee and very rarely if ever do I give a second trip on steels in the summer)I use islander mooching reels , one to one retrieve and 15 foot rods 12pound test, and try to stop boat most fish , to catch these fish in a ditch is so wrong at least go to a real river(niagra or such) , in the lake they are ossome fighters maybe Epic , to allow ditch fishing shows no respect for these great fighting fish ,why stock them just to waste them like this , I would close the season untill end of May?. sorry but Im just sick of all this steelhead eliteism , the if your rod is bigger than the river line is priceless ... guess i just lost more friends lol , but if you want to steelhead fish do it in the lake ,river fishing is for the 1 or 2 pounders that hide amost the wood and such and require a plan and some skill . sorry guys its friday and I have a long commute to brockville to see the wife after a week in the city and Im pissed at the thought of the traffic..

AFRAZ ,You can eat them raw in salads or fry up some in garlic butter etc. , any recipe you use for asparagus will work .

Both sons and a daughter have got a bird this year, Im hopeing Pop(me) will get one this weekend , going out with second daughter on fri and sat (if needed). Nice bird , if you have never tried it Turkey hunting is great fun ,get out there ,both daughters and wife enjoy it . Funny wife would never deer hunt with us , but bird hunting either, grouse , turkeys, pheasants , she loves it.great way to spend family time and the eating is good too .great bird with a nice tail , feathers i mean ,thats a joke son...

The last sentence says it all to me , BOTH should respect each other , and even if this guy has had damage to his boat ,his children, whatever in the past , in no way was a father in a small boat with a very young child pan fishing gonna cause any problems and if he was worried he should have just asked if they were haveing any luck (after seeing what was going on and ensureing his property was safe) and went about his way,enjoying the outdoors and seeing a father and son out together bonding should have made his day so much the better ...

Ok I dont call it a picknic table I just extend a few boards and some planks out into the park and tie up my bikes and wagons and baby strollers to it ?? My property line is just that , A line where my property and my rights to sole use ends. If Im so wrong (and you all know its not the first time) please explain why if its water parkland and not a grass parkland I now have the right to extend my propery line out and tie all my things to it ?? Not looking for a fight ,just a straight answer in law or what ever , as I would really like to be able to extend a ,"dock" call it what you like out from my lawn onto the curb so i can tie my car to it at night as the parking in the beaches in T.O is crazy and I would like a parking spot in front of my house.The catch basin in front of my house is allways plugged and I live at the bottom of a big hill so the curb is flooded most of the time , so 90 percent of the time my car would be in water????

Sorry guys but who or what gave you guys(landowners) the right to put a dock out into water YOU DO NOT OWN and now you think you can tie your boat up to it (further extending what you think are your rights into water YOU DO NOT OWN) and than because you have done this , my family is not allowed to go near there. My house backs onto a city park why cant I extend a long picknic table out from my fence into the park and than tell everyone you cant play ball there as my children eat their lunch at my table.Sounds crazy right , but most if not all shore line landowners think they can extend docks, tie boats up etc.Take your boat out of the water everynight like us poor taxpayers without docks , than you will not have to worry about people scratching them , take your kids swimming at a beach no fish hooks there ..You own the land the water is everyones get used to it , just beceause you are lucky enough to own shoreline gives you NO RIGHT to everyones WATER ...

Funny about the smelts(must have been lack of water) my dad used to plant carp and suckers in our garden and we had the most and largest tomatoes in the hood (maybe carp turn into tomatoes when dead). guess you just plant some roe, water and wait.

Maybe give them a test hold your face over the water and stick out your tongue and wiggle it just above the surface , see if they jump ... how you been dsn , been around the bay yet for carp this year ? me and my son were getting browns off the rocks 3 weeks ago but have not been out since .

Sorry headhunter the change in skin only helps viewing problems, the login and out thing stays the same (only on my work machine, not at home ). BUGS and more BUgs , nothing worse that BLACK FLIES , skiders i can stand (lots of deet) but those little black buggers are hell on earth ... probably the only thing ever comes between me and fishing ..rain wind etc. I will find a way around (even angry wife)but something so tiny yet so bothersome .. Heard many storys in the old days of salmon hunt that guys would stuff a 30 pound chinny with another two or three pounds of ice , when fish was thawed and examinded nothing in the stomac .. dont have any proof and ice weighs alot less than lead but a big chinny has a big belly.but as been said CHEATERS NEVER PROSPER .

Jer and Drifter , I suspect what Ric is saying is right , I have had these problems since day one of upgrade (page expired , triple clicking, no pictures etc.), also everytime I open a new thread I have to login again to reply ala headhunters problem, these problems only occur on my machine at work with all its blockers and such and a old browser , on home machine with firefox browser and my iphone all is well,it has to be caused by some sercurity thing on our machines not allowing normal communcation between us and the site.If its any help I run the site on lofi mode at work and it works ok , not really an answer but if I need my OFC fix and cant wait untill i get home its a way. Glad to hear she's all right , hit one myself this winter , been deer hunting for over 30 years and never got a ten point untill now , to bad it had to be with my car . I was not so lucky as he came feet first thu the window , still got large wound where his antler went thu my calf and came out the back (another scar to show grandkids), nothing like shareing the front seet with a mortally wounded deer kicking and head butting ,after i got the car stopped and rolled out the door,he still kicked and butted for another 10 minutes inside untill he finally died was no way I was getting back in the car with him to finish it, thank god another guy came by and stopped as I left my cell phone on the seat. Car a right off between the damage in the front and the mess he made (his blood and mine )on the inside ,seats console dash dystroyed by his hooves . But at least I got the last shot in as he tasted real good, what the butcher could save .I am looking into those whistles for the new car.It all happened so fast ac/dc cranked on the radio came up over a hill and bang he was headed straight for me on the hood .
