Was given some last spring , we ran them on flat lines off the bar for early lakers , had catches on the blue / silver and red/white . Ones I have are 5-6 inches long look alot like Rapala tail dancers , on 100 foot leads with 20 pound trilene mono we figured they were running at about 10 feet .

Like Urban said , most if not all major BRANDS of reels will have good lines from starters right up to top of the line , some guys will tell you one brand and others will scream for another , Best to make a list of the features you want and your price , and than as Urban said go to the store and look at the reels in your price range with the things you want on them and than with reel in hand make your choice . Shimano Citica E is a good starter reel but like I said probably every MAJOR brand has something similar and for you it may be just the one , so many here are caught up on the BRAND thing "I only buy Ford or I only Buy Merc or Shimano etc. etc. Im sure all the top brands have their followers so try a few and find out what is the one FOR YOU , as your the one who will be useing it and paying . for a review of the citica look here "http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocitica200e.html" good luck in finding a reel once you go over to baitcasters you will nevr spin again lol, B

Had a family of the buggers move in last summer under my garage , My stupid german sheppard was getting sprayed two three times a week .I tried all the home made stuff my friends told my about and bought a few of the skunk out things at the pet store what I found that worked was just plain old dish soap , a good washh and rinse with lemon dish soap was the best thing I found . Whan i finally managed to trap one of them the animal control guy just checked him out and than RELEASED IT at the end of my driveway !!!!!! Funny tho a few days latter they just all died, sad so very very sad ???? Must had been a murder suicide or one of the young skunks was playing with a loaded gun , skunk home invasion , toronto is becomeing a dangerous place sh#t happens , who knows with skunks ??? but ya they all died and I burried them in the garden , no more smelly dog

Was there yesterday working and its still frozen ,(we're doing alot of inprovements to the pond and building a classroom , lunch area ,for students to come and study the pond after we finish, this will be the first hay bail constructed building in toronto) but the ice is thinning around the shore wont last much longer . we are doing lots of work on the pond and surrounding area and I made sure I used my imput to make sure when we're finished the pond will have 3 very nice shoals for bass spawning and more ares for access for fishing. working in Storm water management has its good side .

The baits of choice for flipping/ pitching are typically jigs and plastic worms. To limit your lure choices to these, however, is a serious error. Many of the biggest bass have fallen prey to a jig and frog combination. Worms, spinnerbaits, curly-tailed grubs, buzzbaits and rattling baits all will produce. Jigs - They are weedless, penetrate cover easily and imitate a favorite bass food: crawfish. Jigs can be versatile. Their action and descent changes dramatically. A heavy jig with a little trailer will fall rapidly; conversely, a smaller jig with a large trailer will make many presentations possible. Generally, a heavier jig (over 1/2 ounce) is used for flipping. Pitching jigs start at 1/4 to 5/8 ounce. You can use a variety of pork and plastic trailers, depending on the situation. Worms - Rigged weedless (Texas style) or on a leadhead, work well for both techniques. The slender shape of the plastic worm lends itself well in close quarters. Slim-shaped baits, incidentally, are popular with bass; long, thin objects appear easy to swallow. On entering the water, worms land gently and create less disturbance. Preferred colors are purple, black, red shad and motor oil. Sizes 5, 6, 7 and sometimes larger worms are preferable. Spinnerbaits - Short-arm spinnerbaits are great drop-type baits for flipping and pitching. A single Colorado blade with a white or chartreuse/white skirt is a good choice. Again, drop can be controlled by the addition of the trailer. Short-arm spinners work well when flipped and pitched. Oddball Baits - Tube jigs, lizards, Rat-L-Trap type baits, Slug-Go type soft baits, grubs and buzzbaits are a few of the many lures that can be pitched. The key is the bait's quiet entry and instant action. Bass act instinctively to a bait that appears and then begins a frightened retreat. Each lure has its place. Bass are opportunistic feeders. When food is present, they must make a choice either to strike or allow the intruder to escape. Bass - especially large bass - try to find flaws in lures. If there's no indication that the lure isn't real, the fish will readily strike. Silent lures, jigs, worms and grubs offer few clues to being artificial. For this reason, more fish are consistently caught on these types of lures. They become doubly deadly when presented using flipping and pitching methods. Every angler encounters bass in neutral or negative feeding modes, fish in highly pressured water or simply lure-shy lunkers. In these situations, pitching and flipping catch more bass. Leave the casting and cranking to the beginners.
