My thanks to JPJ , Big guy , Solo , John and all the others that made this one of the best threads I have had the pleasure to read on this board . Tho it was mostly non fishing related , it shows that we have a wide range of opinions on this board ( but we come together under our love for the outdoors) and we can express these differing views without resorting to name calling etc. and WE CAN AGREE to DISAGEE . Great debate now Im not sure what side IM on both (I think that this time theres maybe three sides) made great points .

Made a few bamboo rods myself with my son when he was younger before girls . First you get some split bamboo pieces (I made an eight sided blank) you have to cut your taper and the angles so they will fit together in a stop sign sort of shape . You than glue them together sand and than mount the eyes and reel seats . I think the fist two or three were not so good (hard to get the eight pieces together and figureing out all the angles , plus was just guesseing on tapers ,we tried to copie a glass blank we had at first ) but I think the last two casting rods we made are pretty good , but I dont fish with them as I would cry if they were to brake. So some made by a builder who was a craftsman will be worth alot , one made by someone like me , except to me , are not worth much but if I paid myself by the hour even at minimum wage, lets just say ????

Dont advise you use a top water , as It would be hard to explain to a CO that you were not after out of season bass and were really trying to catch walleyes on a popper. Try a jig with a twister tail type bait in a bright colour and maybe a piece of worm to add a little scent or maybe a rattle type bait but stay away from the top waters untill bass opens .

The crime as I see it (if things did happen as stated), is that your friends did not call the police and have this red neck charged . Allowing such people to believe they can get away with actions such as these only encourages them to contiue and even escalate their behavour. Sad Sad thing , I go into the outdoors to get away from crap like this !!!!!!

woodsman it was a few(many now im ageing myself) years ago and they didnt have a card than just I think a pink piece of paper, I think it was why they did bring in the card and made it clear ( "It is an offence to attempt to obtain more than one card. It is also an offence to provide false information on a card application." Pg. 5 of Fishing Ontario 2008-2009 Recreational Fishing Summary.) that it was one for each person . I would NEVER do such a thing again but it got me thu a very confussing spring . Was very confussing the first year with no one really understanding the rules or believeing that they would really bring in a license, the license sellers or the fishermen , we in Ontario just got used to the fact you didnt need a license and than we did I dont think many paid attention to the rule change and untill that day I was very confussed as to how I was to inforce the rule, now we have the cards and graded licenses etc. and I think most if not all serious fishermen have got used too and know all the rules and understand the need for liceneses .

I think thats why they brought in the card , it was the first year and i got one from every Canadian tire aqnd tackle store between St Kitts and TO ,never said it was legal just that it worked that CO asked for licenses every time he say me all that spring . Now I find most if not all guys are used to to fact you need a license in the summer. BUT Ice fishing is another thing , the CO from Port Perry tells me he cant belive the amount of fines he gave to people who rented huts from me this winter , and I only have 8 huts ???

Friend of mine ran his boat aground off TO islands in a storm that came out of nowhere (sail boat , who wants a boat you got to blow on to get it to move) called marine unit on his UNLICENSED radio. Think it was over 4 grand in fines and towing costs when they came out to get him. Seen a few threads lately where people have bragged they ran their boats in the harbor with no license etc. and they had no problem . While when things go wrong !!!!! poo poo happens . radio license is easy thing to get why temp the fates ????

First year for licenses , I was running my boat out of port weller in early April for lakers off the bar . I had told every one over the phone when they booked that this year evryone needed a license but I never bothered to check , Im not a CO ?? Just got set up one morning early and fish on, guy fights a nice 10 lb king , as I net fish Co pulls up . comes aboard asks the guy who just landed fish to see license , NO LICENSE.He than asks for a license for the other 7 rods I had out (only 1 rod per guy than ) lucky counting mine we had 7 lincenses on the boat . After threating to take the rod ,reel ,down rigger ,rod holder, net and lure that was used by the guy with no license , he just fined the guy who caught the fish with no license and told me if he saw more than 7 lines out that day he would be back and he would take the stuff . Needless to say we didnt run more than seven lines and I saw him watching me with his glasses a few times that day .What I did than was to buy 8 licenses so I allways had a license for each rod and when stopped all we had to do was for everyone to hold up a license and all was well , not sure how legel this is but never had a proplem since as long as each guy fishing holds up a license he or any other CO has never come aboard to check . ????

First off great amp , I have a 100 watt jcm 900 head and a jcm 2000 head and too many other amps to name but last count between me and my son theres 15 or so amps in my base ment . The problem of them being too loud just as they start getting warm is an old one that most fix with a master volume ," Yukkk" any good repair guy can put one in your amp for you and I can recomend a few if you want , but like the power soak I dont think you will like it . The marsell power brake or something simalar is what you want , they go between the amp output and the speakers rather than between the pre amp and the output so you get the botth the preamp and output tubes cooking and than you turn down the power . Or and This would be my choice , get a smaller amp there are so many good 15 watt or even 7 watt tube amps that will give as much or more than your marsell , try an orange or my fav Koch or many others, pm me if you want to talk guitars and amps I have been collecting for 45 years and have a hugh amont of stuff and can talk for hours lol only thing I have more of is fishing stuff but not by much three rooms plus my basement in my house are full of guitars and stuff .
