Lake Erie Walleye Commercial Fishing
perchslayer666 replied to young_one's topic in General Discussion
A lot of people on here have to remember that you are not the only ones on the water... Commercial Fisherman do this because it earns them money and there is a large market for them. As long as it is done within the law, and they're are programs in place to replenish what was taken, I say go for it. -
Nice Eaters. Wish I could get a few of those on the smoker, then on a cracker.

Nice catch Hulk. Were you chillen with Macho? If so please tell Mrs Elizabeth I say hi. -
I have to agree with everyone on here, Perch are awesome! Very tasty and easy to catch too. I also agree that they do taste better when caught out of cold water... My favorite times to catch perch for eating are from November to March - their meat is nice and firm with no grubs or black spot (where I fish anyways) I don't target them in the summer at all....I'm pretty sure though if you were to go to Simco and fish the deep water you'll get some good clean eaters.

on the search for a new ultralight rod
perchslayer666 replied to chefboi17's topic in General Discussion
I too picked up that new Rapala 7' UL with the drop shot handle - for the price I was amazed....going to use it new weekend for pannies and smallies. I love the loomis UL rods, but $230 for a dinky 5' rod, I cannot justify that rod. As for smaller UL rods, I have been using a Fenwick HMG 5'2 UL with the rings, and absolutely love it!! Price tag on that bad boy was $105, just as sensitive. -
I know that place well too, Crazy swells everyday... It's always freakin' windy there, great for smallies and eyes though.... Fishing there in a 12-16 footer is just risking it.

Lifejackets to be mandatory in Canada/Ontario?
perchslayer666 replied to cram's topic in General Discussion
I think this is a great idea it will save lives, even if the amount statically speaking is historically low - every life counts. I think some of the old timers on the board have a mind set from a different time and place, and hey guess what - Times change as do provincial laws. Is this seriously a big issue? It sounds like some people on here have an issue with authority and change. I mean the cost of a life jacket has come down immensely in the past few years (even the auto inflatable ones) where everyone who can afford to be out on the water can or should be able to afford one. This should be praised as a preventative measure to save lives. -

Man, this is sad, gone way to soon, he had lots of life in him and from everything that people have to say about him, he was a genuine down to earth dude. Metal has lost one of their forefathers, a pioneer that paved the way for so many great acts that followed. His last piece of work, Hevan & Hell - The Devil you know was definitely a great swan song to his craft that he has been creating since the late 50's. It's depressing to listen to it now because the world will never hear his magical voice again. To the younger metal heads - Listen to this guy's stuff and you can appreciate where today's metal came from, and how righteous Metal once was. Dio Rules.

I got a 2009 Honda Pilot (New Body shape) and tell everybody it's the best purchase I've ever made...cause it's true. Tons of room, lot of towing power, and great pick-up thanks to it's V-Tec engine (250 Hp @ 3.5 ltr) The main point is that it is amazing gas as I can get 750-800 km's of highway driving on 80 liters of fuel. Plus they look bad-ass. Check em' out.

Do you guys keep and eat these lake O fish? Just wondering... Great catches though!

Great knife, I have like 5 of them... Cheap, and very sharp, couldn't be more satisfied with them. Go grab one. (or another)

Can someone direct me to where I might be able to find a Riverkeeper center pin reel? I live in Mississauga, and i'm looking to pick one of those bad boy's up. Do they have a web site as well? Thanks
-
Huh? Have you even picked up a Bass Pro reel or rod? I'll agree with you for the lower end BPS stuff, but the "higher" end stuff is just as good as St. Croix or G Loomis stuff (same cost) I was in BPS today and picked up a Johnny Morris Elite signature rod, and it feels and looks like a $210 rod, with more features than a comparable Shimano/Loomis/St. Croix ect.... They make great stuff, just look at the higher end stuff and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
