"Addicted to Roe" lol, its true, but the fall steelies and browns love it. I don't care how well artificials work, Salmon/Trout roe just drives them nuts...it will always be that way. Besides it's the process of obtaining roe that makes it special.

I’m a lurker that has been viewing the board for the past 3-4 years, and I must say there are lots (too much) nit-pickers on this board that like to show off they’re knowledge more than an actual fishing report contributions, and it really does bring down the quality of the threads. My advise to Bigredfisher, is if you’re looking for information, use the search tool, and you’ll have several years of reports for your viewing, and you don’t have to deal with the Online Fishing board Nazi’s that threaten the genuine fishing attitude and make-up that this board at one time had. Tip – If you want less idiot posters (one on this thread already) simply do not respond to them, don’t fuel the fire, and they’ll stop or better yet go away for good. It’s simple message board economics, lol Oh ya BTW - I don’t post here because I don’t have to, but I did join because more members give more $$ to the mods, and they deserve it for this undertaking that is OFC.

We were using power worms, and fishing a deep pool where previously we were nailing smallies up to 3lbs, the following week, nail a couple smallies and surprise Atlantics – the pool is pretty deep so it’s not like we were floating our baits right in front of them, totally accidental catches, and moved on after landing 2 and hooking on to 3 or 4 more by accident. Same thing when you’re fishing for Pickeral and you get the odd OOS bass dude….

Lol, seriously, you mean you’ve never done that before? It’s awesome catching a 3lb smallies on the Pin….I understand that Salmon/Steelheaders in Canada would only consider using a Centerpin for these types of fish, but people in other parts of the world use these reels for catching anything that swims (ie. England)…. Some guys in the states that I know exclusively use Centerpin reels for fishing channel cats out of slow moving rivers, and do quite well….

True, you are right, we were catching them ‘pinning for bass in some deep pools on the Credit (tons of fun if you ask me) and apparently a good sized pod of Atlantics where hanging with the Bass (or vise versa), it was unbelievable! Of course we released all of them, but oh man, just wait until open season on these things it’ll a blast!

I think a whole bunch of people need to chill out on the whole Atlantic Salmon topic….I mean it has already turned the Credit into a true year-round fishery, me and a buddy were catching Atlantics in Mid-July this year, how cool was that!!! I think it’s great that they’re stocking Atlantics again, great fun, people need to shut up and fish for them…. Let’s face it, the original lake Ontario Atlantic Salmon is long gone, this is the next best thing, enjoy it as it develops right before your eyes!

I have one of these reel (low profile) it is awsome, durable and holds a good amount of line, got it on sale for $79 last year

Holy Jeez!! Why is everybody bashing this guy’s business? Are the majority of people on this thread so thrifty, that they do not understand that they are paying for the convenience at this place? I like to save a buck like the next guy, but let’s get real here if you don’t like the prices or the guy working there, then DON’T GO THERE. Personally, I have been there a couple times to buy some last minute tackle & live bait, and so what if the prices are a little higher than some other places, you are paying for the convenience of it. This guy has gotta eat and provide for his family like everyone else, who’s to come in this guys way of doing that? The way I see it, he’s running a business to make a profit, not a clearance center to satisfy those who like carp and complain because they don’t understand a business. Before anyone says something negative about someone’s bread an butter, think about who it may benefit.
