  1. theres money in flipping boats ,theres more money in Outboards and parts thou ,be prepaired to have your tires Kicked HARD at times,buying boats @ wholesale from Marinas that dont wanna deal with the fix me up type trade in is a bonus

  3. recovered a crestliner all smashed up on the rocks last season not an older boat either,towed to Marina,marina lifted it out,owner tried to claim it ,marina put salvage rights on it for fees owing ,I think it went to Auction eventually,its a tricky situation go get the Hull #s, check with the gov on who owns it ,ask him if he wants to part with it ,sign a paper and go get it is what id do
  4. there in the boat, but I dont or dont make anyone wear it that dont want to ,I wear the survival suit in early spring @ fall cause I hate the cold and being splashed ,I do wear the life jacket at ALL times on the Seadoo thou,should not be mandatory

  9. get yourself a 150 Etec and turn that lil 13x17 prop just to get or maintain your max rpm at WOT,you will be real happy I hate Merc and id buy a Merc before another Etec,2 identical boats where built custom side console 20 ft all welded in Parry Sound,one was rigged here with a 150 Etec the other a 150 Suzuki 4 stroke,the Etec is turning a 17 the Suzuki a 23 wheres the torque ,how do I know ,the 150 E tec is on the new work boat,wanna mention the throttle surging on the Etec,Optimax or a new HPDI Yamaha would be my choice
  10. my DS 650 Baha is a single cyl 4 Stroke,Bombi knows how to do it ,well Rotax anyhow,they also have supercharged and non 4 stroke Seadoos,I also thought they brought out a 4TEC in the Rev,either was when I took the cover off my Etec 115 I couldent see the block anywhere a MASS of sensors wires plugs crap,a modern day 4 stroke I could lay my hand flat all over the place ,Yamahas anyhow,so ticked off at my Etec sold boat and all,think your Etec is the crap ill give ya names and numbers of people with blown up ones in under 100hrs,think it wont need service for 3 yrs dont Kiss your mechanic good bye just yet
  11. no maintaince on the Etecs for 3 yrs is crap,the heads dont need retorqueing cause the dealer might have to change the powerhead in under 100 hrs,as for those new 25-30 hp Etecs time will tell

  13. id skip the torque wrench step, just tighten them by hand and a 1/4 turn more with the socket its only aluminum

  15. its a Yamaha it will be fine ,and yes Ive bought and sold ALOT of Outboards that I or they dident see or hear run,3 or more to guys on this board alone I can think of

  17. 25 30 hp out a 9.9-15 hmmmm hmmmm not calling Bull just hmmmm,few tweaks eh ,you couldent fit a big enough prop on the shaft to clear the case to make use of all that extra hp the gears in the case would near explode with 30 hp

I actually LOVE the VRO oiling system ,over the past 10 yrs ive bought a few hundred OMCs off marinas that where blown due to the VRO ive made a small fortune,keep running that set up ,when she stops ill come get it for scrap aluminum prices ,a standerd fuel pump is a cheap investment on these otherwise great engines

Ive done 2 things in life Road construction and Building Construction,I bounce from one to another as required or as things get stale ,road building I started out as a grade man doing layout and checking grade for the equipment as a yr or so passed ,ya get thrown on a packer ,maybe a shouldering machine ,then skidsteer ,dozer ,grader ,excavator ,if they see ya have the knack for something, its that easy ya stay on it ,if I where you first thing Id do is join the Operaters Union if your serious pay your dues
