  1. I would avoid going that route of filling the boat. Boat hulls are designed to take the pressure from the outside inwards, not the other way around. Filling it even partially will further stretch the rivet points and seals to the point that the leaks will just increase. Just my opinion.
  2. Well, ya didn't say that. Anyway from F/B, is what I got. Bluffer's Park Marina They are, in the future please call 311 as they are the owners of the Toronto Public Launch and know the schedule better then us. Thank-you. I just don't know how you would call 311 from up in the sticks.
  3. By the looks of it you are Scarborough....
  4. The annoying thing is, Barrie opened the Tiffin launch and parking lot to NON Residents about 2 weeks ago and now has closed it again. On one of the "other" boards I went through some grrrr, because Barrie didn't quite think the process through of a NON resident with a Vets plate or blue Disabled card could park and launch for free. Then a short while back they implemented the $10 + HST fee for launching on top for NON residents. So how does a NON resident pay for only launching? There's no separate button or input on the machine. I had to poke about 10 different people at City Hall before I got the answer. Oh we didn't think of that situation. So you input the smallest amount possible for parking and an extra $10 + HST will be added automatically. Then they change their mind and close it off to non residents again. I used to spend a fair bit of money in Barrie, they can pound dry pine cones for all I care now.
  5. Cut and pasted from another site. What a disappointment this morning. Got to the launch in Barrie at 5am this morning to find it was closed and they are issuing tickets to all non residents using the ramp and parking. So... the area moves to a phase 2 of reopening and Barrie city council decides to close things down. Thanks for the ticket this morning. Hope this may save some non resident the aggravation of driving up here and finding this.
  6. Is that the female peahen with her wedding gown because no self righteous peacock would be caught dead wearing that in public.
  7. Yup, just keeps going round and round, I quit after 2nd time.
  8. You should have video taped it, could have made a perfect "how not to launch and annoy people".
  9. I get my smoked hocks, (not cut in half) from Hoffmans in Stayner, a two supper size. Oven roasted and served with home made sauerkraut. During the summer season I do them wrapped in foil on the BBQ.
  10. Advertising SPAM is the way I look at it.
  11. If you were a little closer I'd come and do it for the fun of it. Being retired has it's benefits, every day is friday. After all, who gets to drive a lawn tractor and enjoy.
  12. Makes you wonder what else is below us.
  13. If you go to the chart, Blue/White and the Green/White are trim up and down..if so equipped. Some motors will have all the wiring without the option being present.
  14. You may be right about the online ordering but for some stuff, I still want to handle things before I buy. Junk would just have to be sent back ending up costing more for shipping. I really believe they didn't think their process through all the way, a couple Km from another well established big box store, you might get 1/2 the customers if things really went well. Their on line version is pretty dismal to say the least, heck LeB albeit old style was still better. Local would have been better around Newmarket.
  15. Have to ask, are you planning on having the rails, etc changed too? If not, go to HD or Lowes and check and see if they have the same size in insulated metal, that would save a fair bit. Rails can be adjusted side to side and front to rear to get the correct fit. If you do find a correct sizing, it's not hard to take out the old panels and insert the new.
  16. I wonder if blaming nature has anything to do with insurance.
  17. I hope you have better luck getting dressed before going to work. Look here to start with https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/marine/vessel-licensing-registration.html
  18. I suspect your reward equals the amount of gas used to drive there and back.
  19. Well there's your answer "guys at Canadian Tire". Next time ask them if they have any outer tubes.
  20. I know what you mean, I have a younger couple next door that works at a kitchen cabinet place, of course every weekend there are different people over that stay the night, sometimes the whole weekend, sitting around the fire and not even 2 feet apart. Complete nitwits when it comes to keeping the distance.
  21. From experience, I have a 16' Princecraft Starfish, but just the basic model, tiller, benchs with swivels and seats added, 3/4 ply floors, no livewells or anything else. I had a Honda 25 on it and with 2 people on calm water could hit about 22-24 mph. With 3 in it, it was a bit of a struggle to get on plane. Upgraded to a 40 Yamaha and it makes a big difference, no effort. Knowing now what I didn't then, I wouldn't bother with that set up. Oh and I'm not one of those speed demons or need to explode hole shot launches from dead stop.
  22. They are also sold under a variety of rebrands.
  23. Tractor Supply, you can see their stuff on line too.
  24. Maybe he welded some pizza pans together.
