  1. They don't make ice cubes that big in Cornwall, unless you're going up north don't worry about it. If you are going up north and show up with a hand crank once you get on your knees with a hand crank and no water, then you have problems.
  2. There's only one thing missing...where's its sister for Joey?
  3. Nice video, good choice of non head banging music...but unless you're getting out the boat.."I think I will only get out once more for perch with some friends then it's whitefish and trout and maybe a walleye or 2". Ice doesn't look too promising further up the lake for the next while.
  4. Thanks for the reminder, just picked mine up from the hall closet, put it there about 3 weeks ago when it came in the mail, it has found its spot in the wallet.
  5. One thing I forgot to mention, if you have the opportunity or someone is willing on a trip across the border, the prices are a whole lot cheaper. I got my Honda 2000EU in Detroit and with tax, exchange and customs came to $1045, here they wanted $1799+ tax.
  6. ST, maudit, I figgered I'd have to buy a size 44 toque to do that,
  7. Okay, I've got a seasonal 22 ft trailer and no power where we are set up. The furnace, water pump, lights, fan all run off 12V DC, the 700W Micro a couple other 120V lights, and converter run off either my Honda 2000 EU or the 3000EU depending on how long I'm staying during the hot weather. The 3000 will run everything including a 13.5K BTU AC. During the cooler months, I just use the 2000 for the coffee pot, toaster, TV. During the month of May, maybe part of June and late September I use the furnace, it will run 2 days no problems without recharging the battery. My daily routine has the genny running for about 40 minutes max in the morning for coffee and toaster and maybe some Chronzy fishing if the weathers bad. During that time the battery gets recharged enough. The TV will also run off a 12V to 120V inverter if I don't want to run the genny at night. Generator quality = you get what you pay for, you buy a cheap made in China piece of bovine excrement and you'll have every neighbour throwning rocks at you when it's running. Honda or Yamaha, there are a couple others, Kipor that come close in quality and noise(lack of), the rest, junk. We go around pulling spark plug wires and have noisy raiding parties for those that don't toe the line. One guy eventually left trailer and all, he thought his contractor model 3500 was just fine, WE DIDN'T. While your converter is recharging, it takes a very small amount of 120V AC to turn it into 12V DC. If you want more info, shoot me a PM, I've been doing this for about 15 years.
  8. Oh, no mistake, I understand the quality boot part, I have a pair of Sorels with a spare brand new pair of liners, It's just some days it feels like the internal furnace isn't putting out the BTU's to the tootsies.
  9. Three things, the CTEK chargers are not really meant as a charger to charge from dead, they are more of a maintenance charger designed to be left on full time, mine do all winter. They will get warm when it goes through its short recharge cycle maybe 20 minutes or so every couple days, then the light goes back to green and it gets cold. Marine batteries can last a long time if treated well, recharge after EVERY use, it's just like your tools, put them away wet..they rust. Protect your kit, it takes care of you. Trojan batteries, one of the best on the market. Most of the hard core RVer's use them.
  10. Baitcasters are one way, with spincasting, a lot of the problem is caused by the user. When adding new line, the spool "should" usually lay paper face up, after a couple of turns give the line some slack, if it coils, flip the spool over. Secondly, when retrieving your line and fish and if your are still cranking and unable to gain any line on the fish, your spool is rotating on the shaft. Guess what you are doing..causing line twist, either tighten the drag a bit or stop cranking. Learn to do the pump and crank(get your mind outa the gutter). Gently lift the rod tip and crank down, left and crank.
  11. Saw a reply on another board, there's real thin ice at IBP, I don't think BBP has anything and I really doubt there will be any in the next week, temps going up even overnight and rain.
  12. There's a $50 rolled up inside the tube..too bad eh. Years ago whomever the sponsor was would still give you something, I don't think they do that anymore.
  13. Ya, I tried a pair once, they didn't have the sticky tape, one ended up on top of my foot the other was choking and tried to crawl outa my boot.
  14. Okay, so they are the same or similar to the old Electra socks and Gloves. Crappie..you got a PM
  15. I found a new product on line at Tromblys Tackle, electric foot warmer, runs of AA battery packs. So far I have not seen any reviews or comments. Has anyone else tried them or have any first hand(foot) knowledge, thanks. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=421987&pdesc=Edge_Expedite_Toe_Sters_Elite_Foot_Warmer
  16. Some don't ask the simple question such as, are the auger bits interchangeable or....can the ash tray be cleaned..
  17. Some people buy new cars when the old ashtray is full too..
  18. Scotty, bought one new electric about 1996, still works like day one, bought a second one used, older than the first, still works like day one. No repairs or parts replaced except the terminal tackle, that has to be done on all of them every so often.
  19. Ho, ho, ho, now that part is over, time to set the table, no turkey, decided it's going to be a fondue day. The only bad thing about that, the wife gets cranky when I use 3 forks, 1 fresh meat, 2 cooking and 3 almost done never mind this 1 at a time thing..takes forever to get fed.
  20. Excellent info, especially about the corn fed critters.
  21. Another stab..the lower part that holds the points and condenser should have fixed mounts, then the point assembly is added above that with adjustable screws, like B/C said, for the final set up.
  22. To all of the OFC clan, I wish only one thing, the best of health for all your families, the rest is just a minor blip.
  23. You are bordering on being my doctors nightmare, he attempts to keep me on the straight and narrow, now I'm drooling again. Sugar cookies, cardamom cookies, home made yeast cake with vanilla bean sauce...
  24. Well there is this possibility that I've seen on a couple machines. Under the flywheel there is a woodruff key that "locks" the flywheel to the crankshaft, (usually a small square rod about 3/16" square, although some have a slightly different shape). On my brothers old Toro, it sheared and allowed the flywheel to rotate about 1 inch, you should have seen the flames coming out of the muffler, similar on another machine, no flames but it had about as much power as a hand held egg beater. Replaced the woodruff key, all was well. If you take off the engine cowl with the pull start, you should (not all) be able to see the machined slot cut into the side of the top of the crankshaft and the matching cut in the flywheel. Some have the slot a little lower down on the crank unfortunately hidden by the flywheel. Let us know, many can learn from this.
