  1. No smart meters here..... yep, nobody smart enough there to use a smart meter on, the needle won't even budge, let alone twitch. :rofl2: :rofl2:
  2. Maybe you forgot about that grow-op you started down in the basement. I don't live in that part of town.
  3. Yer looking at getting an whoopin, it's yer damm technology. Lets all run down and burn some more of the whitehouse, or is it the outhouse.
  4. Ha, good guess but no donut for you. Yes I do have a little Linc Mig 100, but it has not been used for about 6 months, I know they can suck up the juice. I've gone to the website and opened up an account to see my hourly/daily/weekely usage. Funny thing is we are not on Time of Use in my area, but the chart shows it as such, only we still pay the average 7.1¢/kw/h. What I'm still stumped on is the 51kw/h jump on the meter in 24 hours and it doesn't show it on the chart. That meter just might have a bad encounter with a tree branch that's conveniently co-located. I'll keep the peace for now, check the meter daily and see what happens.
  5. New? Ancient technology, been around since Ben Hur. I can remember seeing hubs with grease nipples on both sides to lube the bearings. Only problem with them is the same as the bearing buddies, now and the you would blow out the rear seal.
  6. And where is this system from that we are stuck using now?
  7. Thanks for the links, I'm going to go and open the account to track usage and see what that can reveal.
  8. That's what I'm kind of wondering too, if it jumped every day, it would pretty much triple my monthly amount, kind of an anomoly after being steady for 28 years. Now if they screw you just a little bit, no one notices except them, they profit.
  9. I'm curious to know if there's any possibility that a Smart Meter read out can be changed remotely. Quick intro, I've lived at the same address for quite a number of years, check my meter old or new over the years, and without fail, my average kw/h useage per day averages from 9 (low) to 16 (high). This can be attributed from not cooking, no AC running, etc in the summer to having a few more things running, ie. truck block heater on timer, etc. I have a new (3 yr old) very high efficiency furnace, DC motor, gas hot water, gas dryer, high eff washer, only use the dw(dish washer) (not dear wife), every 2 or 3 days as needed. My monthy average ranges from a low of about 270 kw/h to a really high month would be 450 kw/h. Okay, so I'm a frugal jerk, but I don't use candles or make the wife shiver. All appliances are in good shape, not power hogs. Fast FWD. Yesterday read my meter 14250kw/h minus last month 13850kw/h = exactly 400kw/h. Neighbour happened to be out there with me having a chat. Today as I walk past the meter, roughly 24 hours later, it's jumped to 14301 or 51kw/h higher. That's more than 3 days maximum use for me with no apparant reason. I call Hydro One, the person says, yes there was a bit of a "spike" yesterday, Spike, more like a freaking Titan Missile. I'm not completely electrically savvy but, I don't think if I turned on every bulb, appliance and tool in the house I could dump 51kw. Does anyone have a possible reason. Thanks.
  10. Extremist, not quite, realist more like it. There's a lot of people out there that would run out and buy a WDH and "crank her up" and ride around with the back tires off the ground. Again I don't think the OPs trailer has brakes, however, not required under 3K. But after seeing a WDH for a Dodge caravan that doesn't have much of a frame, mostly unibody if I'm not mistaken, I also found this this, which I'm sure a lot of people would like to see in action: Dodge Grand-Caravan 5th Wheel Hitches Dodge Grand-Caravan Gooseneck Hitches Available here: http://www.autoanything.com/towing/Dodge/Grand-Caravan/110A50740A0A0A23A283A1.aspx
  11. Ha, by then they will have invented something new and probably need a wheelbarrow to carry all the paperwork around with.
  12. Remember stuff breaks down at the most inopportune time, like late Sunday night when you're rolling down the highway, no fix it stores around, you haven't got spare parts with you or tools, etc. I'm sure you could call the guys above me and then ask for help...or..check now and have peace of mind. There's some things in the world I trust, older bearing that have not been checked for that many years are not one of them.
  13. I watched the whole hour, didn't see anything either. I'm suspecting they(MNR) had a no comment, their pants are down around their ankles moment.
  14. Oh great, so now the answer is a WDH to give him extra front traction. Now here comes an errant dog or your kid that runs into the street, you hit the brakes, (likely which aren't rated for that load) and your weight distributing hitch has already taken weight off the rear, how about an instant jack knife and loss of control. All everyone yeah sayer is doing is giving an opinion that the OP want to hear. Who's going to cover his butt when things go wrong.
  15. Don't think the resident pass is foolproof, I've heard of the gate attendant asking for ID with address.
  16. Ha ha ha, good one, along with using a hand held electronic device while driving... just makes you wonder.
  17. And like I said before, no point in crankin and moaning here, nothing OFC is going to do about it. Email, snail mail the idiot that runs the MNR. Go to your local newspaper, get them interested and make them look like complete morons, not that it would take much.
  18. You're trying to tell me you can fill a 1 lb tank 20 times from a 20lb tank. I don't think so. Then you need to add the cost of the fitting. After a number of refills, the 1 lb tanks don't "work" all that well, kinda sorta leaky, so then you need to buy more 1 lb tanks. Maybe just easier to buy a 5lb and it's good for 10 years, refill mine at Costco for $3.00.
  19. Really I couldn't give a piece of used tp what those snobby buggers in BC are paying or non resident Alaskan fees for that matter either. I just wish they would get the bloody licencing issue in order here. There's no need to go south of the border to find a place to make/issue cards or change the system that was working quite well.
  20. In addition to what Garritt said, say we have a minumum order of product XYZ, where the heck do you stockpile it. In sure the seller doesn't want be be the storage facility once the items are sold. Even if we find a storage place, then what about shipping?
  21. Buy something made here, Leer isn't all that it cracked up to be. http://www.fibrobec.com/home.html
  22. Amen to that one. I had my issues with the company that makes Marcum and bought out the Aqua Vu Showdown. Needed an upgrade at my expense and charged me for shipping. After specifically requesting US Postal Shipping, they sent it with the brown truck and cost me another $40. Their answer to that was, too bad, so sad. After doing some digging I found anyone north of the border was getting the same lousy deal. So when time comes to get a new winter ice fishing flasher, remeber about customer service and this company.
  23. Didn't think anyone was allowed to fish for new member for another board.
  24. They're just narrow streamers, came back from BPro, from Cookstown north was a bit of a slowdown, past Barrie it's okay. If you wait 10 minutes it can change.
