  1. Ya, I think you're right about that, as long as you don't eat to many hot dogs on friday night while holding a beer in your left hand. Those rules are just a marvellous cluster. Best I can figure out for my truck, I still come in around 4300kg with the trailer hooked up, so I'm under the 4500kg for the truck and I know the trailer is under the max 2800 kg anyway.
  2. Any trailer over 3000lbs must have factory brakes, otherwise you can imagine the carnage. Oh really Ocifer, I was just towing it around the corner and it got away on me...
  3. I have to ask, where are you getting the 3000lb capacity from. I would think a reasonable payload for a 1/2 ton is way under that. Your trailer pin weight is usually calculated as dry weight with absolutely no stuff in the trailer, like water, propane, batteries, clothes, food, etc. Add that in and I think you will have a struggle at best. You already know it's listed for 7K lbs, no 9K lbs.
  4. No Brian, I've been buzzin around the woods and swamps, nada, zip zilch. I think the daily dose of frost is keeping the "string musicians" dormant. I'm hoping that a week of no frost might give them the push they need to pop free.
  5. Out on the ATV this afternoon at work and found these 4 baby woodcock on the side of the road. Momma was a little camera shy. Their actual size is about a pingpong ball diameter.
  6. Did you pass an exam or just your opinion.
  7. Man, I feel better now, I pulled one like that, shin kissed the trailer tongue, although it didn't feel bad at the time I ended up going t the hospital a couple hours later. It looked like I had a grapefruit growing out the side of my leg. Doc said yep, it's a bruise, a good one. give it time the blood will drain into your foot, he's right, it's purple. And it still hurts like ..well can't use any of them words here. I'd have to use a camera with panavision to get that lump all in one photo.
  8. Total Battery on Dunlop St in Barrie, best price and service. Call ahead to see if they have received any.
  9. Still a bit early for the fiddlers, I'm thinking maybe towards the end of this week if it warms up. I also want to look for wild garlic around the same area, ,maybe get lucky.
  10. It's ceramic, I thought it was cast iron. I guess that will keep the heat in.
  11. but what is the point of having a forum based on discussion. When it comes to the legality of how many lines or hooks, it's not a "discussion", it's facts, just the facts, go look them up cause you're not going to step up to the plate and bail him out if he gets an answer from a bad discussion. As for your open topic with questions about your boat, as long as no one tells you to drive your boat around without the drain plug installed, there's probably no serious situation going to develop that costs you money and grief. We're not trying to discourage questions, but some things should be read first hand in black and white.
  12. No, it's not just you, they do have a habit of leaving things in shambles.
  13. I placed an order with Cabelas US, lo and behold the package is now shipped from the Winnipeg Store, at a higher cost. Secondly I'm getting 2 catalogues, one from the US, one from Winnipeg, I'm polite and try and get one canceled, save paper, call the US customer service, sorry can't help you, Canadian catalogue. Okay, call Winnipeg, sorry you have to call the US, listen, been there done that, I guess I'll just throw another tree in the blue box. Unfortunately it seems Cabelas is getting worse as time goes by. Looks like they are trying to loose another faithful customer.
  14. Unless the filter wasn't put on by a gorilla, you might get lucky, otherwise check the link for the filter wrench I posted above. Some of the other type won't fit because of confined space.
  15. You may find the odd rare one in the spring, puffballs are a fall item.
  16. Sure thing BB, Buy amerinese, keep shooting yourself in your feet, pretty soon you'll fall flat on your donkey and wonder what happened.
  17. Oh ya, amazing amount of info especially with some help from Terry, thanks. That thing is sooo accurate it keeps telling me I'm on the wrong side of the bed, hahaha, it doesn't take into account the "stacking" effect. On sale right now for $149 at West Marine.
  18. I use a 2 litre bottle, not coke but the ones that have gator aid or similar contents, the bottle mouth is slightly larger. Drain the oil before removing the filter, lay a bunch of throw away rags under the oil filter, it can get a bit messy. I use an expanding oil filter wrench, Princess Auto part #SKU: 8002216. I think it's 1.6 litres of oil with the filter change.
  19. Not cheap, just frugal enough to believe that I'm #1 and have to look out for my interest. If I support your country through buying and taxes, does your country support my pension, highly doubt it. That's why I tend to slightly dissect things and make them look the way they really are, not just the polished exterior that so many people get suckered into. Those that are border dwellers may profit in the short run, in the long run they don't do us any favours.
  20. Yes, I understood that in our last budget we now have a higher tax free limit. Let me rattle your head a bit. I have to drive about 150 Miles one way, 300 round trip, plus a bit around town add about another 30 miles or so. 330 miles or about 11 Imp gallons, maybe 14 or so US, about $65. That's to get me there and back, no food, no lodging for the two days (48 hours) I have to stay across the border to get the benefit, add a couple hundred for food and lodging. So I spend about $260 at a minimum just for the trip, I haven't bought anything yet. Are you beginning to see..I'll keep the $260 and spend it here and support MY country.
  21. Unless you are pedalling your to get there, it still takes gas which is a lot more than the cheesy 4%. $4 on $100, waste of time, gas, wear and tear on nerves.
  22. Same Chinese junk your store or mine, save the gas and stay here.
  23. Right on the money, found minor differences with Broil Kings BBQ's at H/D compared to the gas appliance store next door.
  24. Well, I can't see why not, you use it for other fish, I don't think it would take maybe 2-3 minutes in the deep fryer. Here's a few: http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=deep%20fry%20shrimp%20batter&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCoQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cooks.com%2Frec%2Fsearch%2F0%2C1-00%2Cshrimp_batter_for_deep_frying%2CFF.html&ei=oIt4T_fMLObV0QGPm6GQDQ&usg=AFQjCNG0pA839qOgNt4hvsvoJycruVV_Zg&cad=rja
  25. Condolences to the family. I had to read it a couple times, at first it made no sense, the vehicle colour description made it sound like it had been burned.
